I did a Yukon/Ruby E dive a few weeks back and the red tide was brutal. Great dives, but the Ruby E was, for all intents and purposes, a night dive basically. The Rock Pile is on my agenda here soon too, never done it. Did you see anything notable? I heard the Giant Black Seabass like to cruise through.
Hopefully conditions start to improve soon. Ya the rock pile is nice but a long swim. We didn't see any large life but that was the goal for the day, mainly 7 gill sharks....Last few times I've been there we saw lots of urchins, northern and southern palm kelp, lots of calico and other schooling fish but not the big stuff we were looking for.
