So if you’re a pilot without a US passport it’s pretty much impossible to become a pilot in the US unless you marry an American because the exceptional one is pretty much impossible even if you’re an experienced pilot
Depending if you leave the country or not called a “flag carrier” I have a US passport. When I started I held a green card. Remember a passport gets you into another country, the green card gets you back in the USA
