I used the 1206 gasket for my 383 stroker with a Speedmaster single plane and a Trick Flow air gap dual plane. They worked perfectly with a little porting of both intake manifolds. I opened up the intake runners a bit in the 8002K heads too. The BluePrint heads are holding up after an amount of abuse by me too. With 11.2/1 compression, a QuickFuel 850, 294 Comp cam, all roller, 3k stall, 3.73 gears, 3100 lb., 1967 Chevy C10 stepside, I’m running mid to high 12’s in the 1/4 mile.
The head on the right has thicker deck. Looks like the afr eliminator castings Edelbrock does for them. Fyi afr used to do the blueprint h800s heads. Quick way to know is the pads on top of the intake ports are raised. Not sure when afr stopped doing the bpe heads, but it's a fact they did some of the early bpe 195 heads and I think the cnc bpe 23° heads.
@@BOOT Yes sir I wanted to keep a stock look and that's what the machine shop did for me so I could install, Without the relief the stock valve cover hits the lip and won't even touch the gasket leaving a big gap under it.
I think you'll find on all the cheaper aluminum heads the combustion chambers are never as advertised and always off but not really off enough to hurt the average builder like you or i
Alum heads have been used in many production vehicles for awhile now and is the preferred head with high performance as well. I like cast iron myself but you can find better alum heads for cheap these days. I honestly couldn't care about the weight difference as many choose alum for that.
I just picked up the exact same heads (H8002BPE] and on bottom between the intake runners is has a number [190] and I see that yours has.the same number. Does that mean they are 190cc or does that number mean something else ?
It actually says (bpe 190) on the bottom. I have tried searching for the part number (H8002BPE) and can't find anything with that exact part number but found info on the (8002) number and all the 8002 heads say 195cc intake runners. The heads came off a crate 383 engine from blueprint.
@@joefrick1335 Well when they changed the casting they didn't change the part number. 190 or 195 is not much different and sometimes heads can be +/- 5cc from what I've herd of those that checked diff heads from the same manufacturer. OR it could be just advertising hype, it's not uncommon to say yours is the same or higher than a competitor, it's easier to change the ad than the part. Anyways this set of heads is long gone and if you watched my other vid you saw that they were cracked

Hey Boot. Have you had time to check your new AFR heads? Thanks
Sam
Not even opened up the boxes, I'll get to them and the set of Darts I also picked up LOL
Older head looks like a Dart copy, new head looks like a AFR vortec copy. Smaller exhaust port will most likely be better for you.
Yah kinda glad I got the BPE heads for my 77, a bit smaller intake runner as well
They notch them for factory center bolt valve cover,s
All the other heads with both(center and perimeter) valve cover bolt patterns aren't notched

Ah for stock covers, thx for clearing that up
Got a link to the seller of the blueprint heads?
just found your channel and subbed
Oh! I almost bought those BPE heads! I got the fully assembled pro comps pair for $570
I usually change a lot of the stuff so I prefer bare, plus in this case I already got it all
@@BOOT Good idea, and in this case you found a pretty severe crack
Good information.

I agree and why I don't really care to cc them unless people wanted me to, I don't build for max compression
The sad thing is that Blueprint Engines sells those cylinder heads for AFR cylinder head price!
looking at possibly a blue print motor but not sure aluminum heads vs iron any help will be appriciated!!

Crack kills
can aluminum heads warp easier than iron?
Alum heads are more often resurfaced after use, I have found cast iron decks to be totally fine even after some miles.
Have you dyno’d any of these?
Nope no budget for dyno
Who makes the BPE heads?
Cast offshore and machined over here was what I herd
@@BOOT okay Thanks
I heard they make there own heads,I watched a video on blueprint
@@mr.homelite8490 probably means "we machine and assemble foreign sourced castings and finish in our us factory"
i would return get some better product
Long as they can be assembled & bolted on I'm happy enough for the engine they are going on.
@@BOOT these cheaper heads are flawed but they preform well for the money there's plenty of dyno proof on UA-cam
