Sorry for loss Tommy. I have my own memories, this song was played at the funeral of my firstborn, a son, who died at birth. Luckily I have two healthy daughters now. So I am not sad anymore, but I will never forget him. I wish you all good memories. Thx for sharing this with us with your beautiful voice.

Dear Vero, I am feeling with you. We lost two of our four children before they had a chance to make their first breathe. In Germany those kids are named Sternenkinder. I have also two great daughters, but I miss my "Sternenkindet". Stay strong and healthy❤

Why are you Swedes so talented in music ? It's almost as if you were all born with a mic and a guitar in your hands. All my favourites bands come from Sweden and you're only 10 millions in population !

I guess that our municipal music school (now more general art school) is part of the reason. When I was a kid, more or less every kid took part. We started playing recorder (blockflöjt) in second grade, and after 2 years we could choose some other instrument(s) and play/sing up until 9th grade in 2h sessions every week with a music teacher for that instrument. I chose clarinet, singing and guitar for a few years each. All this was/is in addition to the music we play(ed) in regular school.
I have found that there are not words in any language which come close to conveying either the depths of grief that we feel when a loved one dies or the comfort we wish to give those who grieve. Music says all the things we can't because it can touch the marrow of the soul and do so without needing to be translated.

I've never heard this song sound like this before in the beginning it sounds so cold, gritty, and painful (which it's supposed to) then explodes to a powerhouse of vocals!! an amazing cover! This version is what the original should of been! Totally amazing!

I can't find the right words to express how I feel listening to Tommy's sublime voice. It's at once deep, powerful and fragile, and takes me on a whirlwind of strong emotions. . Tommy is a musician with an uncommon sensitivity; music runs through his veins.. A magnificent tribute to a loved one. Tommy's heart-rending vocals exude so much love.

Another great cover I don't know if Tommy ever sees these comments but I'm an older guy dealing with cancer and everything that goes with it. I just got out of the hospital last night but I had a couple of 22 year old nurses and they were the best I had them listen to a couple of your songs and they thought you were awesome they couldn't wait to get home and get their friends to listen to you. You are totally awesome and I make sure I listen to as many songs of your as I can before I go to bed at night.

I lost my dad to cancer and my mom to heart disease. This is a very touching tribute to Christian and brought tears to my eyes. It's so hard to lose people we care about. Hugs and prayers to you and his friends and family. 💔

I absolutely love how this song has evolved. The sadness and emptiness of the stellar original, now turning more into a disappointed rage at that inability to communicate. Both yours and Disturbed's versions have a resonance to the "Fools, said I, you do not know, Silence like a cancer cancer grows" that hits deep, and these days, I think it has to be said with exactly that defined anger.
Also really love hearing your voice getting really rough in the later phrases, once again, proof of your immense vocal range.
A Song like this is an amazing gift to a Friend gone way too soon. Rest in peace, Christian, and strength and love to his family and friends.
The thing that struck me when the Disturbed version came out was that it maintained the pissed off quality of the original. It's one of those really rare songs that no matter how it's done, the emotions and passion are built in to it.
But needs a courage man like him to perfom.
This version definitely builds to an awesome wall of sound / emotion where s&g emoted emptiness (intentionally).
I don't like the way covers open the song with low, suspenseful voices trying to communicate dread or something? The original sounded comfortable with or resigned to the coming of darkness; anything else feels like a corruption of the author's intent.

As someone who has lost so much of my family and far too many friends, your beautiful rendition reminded me that the power of music is to help heal. WOW Tommy!! I loved this. I knew you could hit incredible highs effectively like in Steelheart, but I didn’t know you had such a gorgeous low and mid range. Your voice is so rich and full… you are indeed a very gifted vocalist. I would love to see you do some Queensryche, particularly Queen of the Reich, The Lady Wore Black, and Take Hold of the Flame, all very difficult songs to sing, but I feel they would be effortless for you. I prefere Disturbed cover, Tommy has passion but not a melodic voice, he's so monotone. It's not a song for him. He looks more comfortable in high registers than with this low voice.
@@ElRinconDeOzzy77 There are a lot of ways to describe Tommy's voice, but "monotone" and "not...melodic" aren't even in the ballpark. I'm no fanboy (or maybe I am?), but this track clearly demonstrates how rich and resonant Tommy's voice is in the deeper registers. It's remarkable, really. I had no idea he'd sound so good in this register.
