    I just took my zx4-rr to my first track day last Sunday. Tune, brembo corsa corta front master and lines, but regular old exhaust. I'm 5'8 and 144 and it feels like they finally made a bike for us folk. I'm glad you guys are going thru the trouble of material for this bike. Not very many made, not very popular, not any real point to it yet, but you're going forward with the bike anyway. I feel "seen", as kids said 8 or 9 years ago.

      I really recommend you do go thru with that ABS delete and think about the new master if you wanna throw the cash too. The factory brakes never felt normal to me. Really hot-and-cold.

      @@joek81981 Instead of the ABS delete, if the 4RR does not have the option to turn off ABS, would recommend removing the abs sensor or the motor rather than removing the feature altogether if you are planning to daily it. Can even make a switch system to cut off the signal to the abs motor! This is something we do with our RC390s to compete in the national championships here in India!

    ..I'm an older rider (62) been riding since 87' and don't think I'll be doing track days. Currently been cruising around on a Ninja 650 since 2018, which I love. I heard an unverifiable rumor coming out of Japan and even a Kawasaki dealership, that they may offer an SX version of ZX-4. Kinda like the Ninja 1000 SX sport tourer. If that happens, I would go that route but if not I may go for the ZX-4. EXCELLENT review !

    Great content ! Over here in the UK we're starting a junior (15 - 21 yrs) championship on these bikes, I think they'll be a brilliant bike for budding racers to learn their craft, plus they'll be more exciting than the 300/400 class singles and twins they race atm...50 % more power and long rev range, sweet chassis....what's not to like 🙂👍

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  Рік тому

      I am really looking ofrward to seeing what becomes of race classes that permit these bikes. For now we will try to race them against the bigger twins and then just take the DQ sinnce ours is not a twin. Performance on paper wise I think that is where the bike belongs. We can also enter it in middleweight on the tighter, more technical tracks. If the race orgs all adapt a class for this bike I bet other manufacturers will be inclined to launch a competing bike in the near future.

    Really detailed review but one thing I would like to point out is the foot clearance issue is solely due to you having a more relaxed body position and its a rider side fault. As someone who races and does track days very frequently. your toes are way out of the foot pegs which tells that you are not that used to the aggressive/race foot positioning. From what I've seen this is the perfect bike to get into track racing/riding for any beginner riders.

      @@TSTindustries might be funny to you if you are a bigger rider and feel cramped because of that and its understandable. I'm 5'7 and had no issues with the rc390 foot rest during trackdays or when racing in the stock category, and it has one of the worst footrest for a stock bike for trackdays. Would even understand if you said that a stock R3's pegs scrape which it does at higher leans, but doing that on a ZX4RR, its solely on the rider positioning unless you are doing GP rider laptimes and lean angles which pretty sure none of us are!

      At this point there are no real comparable bikes so comparing this to a 600 does not make sense. If and when other manufacturers come out with comparable bikes we can start comparing. It is a whole different clas sof bike. We are hoping that a racing class emerges for htis bike and that may draw out the likes of Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki to make a machine capable of competing with the ZX4RR.

      Nine out of ten people will be using the bike on the street so Kawi had to do what they did. I just wish they had a version with no ABS to choose. Paying extra for a system I will have to put effort to eliminate is one of the thuhmbs down points.

    • @tempofugo168
      @tempofugo168 Рік тому +10

      A 600 is harder to exploits fully on the street without risking jail or your licence. Here you can get the full experience without problems. It's fast enough and a 600cc 4cyl is more expensive. In Europe it's 3000€ cheaper than a zx6r, for 80hp vs 120hp.
      Oh and it's lighter than your typical 4cyl 600cc. A zx6r is 210 kg, the zx4rr is 190.

      This is made for people who are passionate about riding track and wanted something similar to a 600 but smaller so easier to practice on and finetune your riding. • @hokogan
      @hokogan Рік тому +1

      The 400/4 is its own sort of mythical beast. Not as fast as a 600, but arguably more fun in most situations.

  • @IrnMaiden304
    @IrnMaiden304 Рік тому +1

    The price is, what the price is, who else is making a 400cc inline 4 that has all the same tech as the bigger bikes ?!, No one yet, and this bike will still hold good value, and over the years will be worth more, that's the whole point of rarity items.
    Sure, it doesn't have 100+ hp to the ground right out of the box, it's not hitting 190+ mph speeds, but that's not the point of it, and why there's many different bikes out there for different purposes at different costs.
    My opinion, this is a bike you buy, ride it every now and again, and have a different bike that makes up for what you really want, or you buy two.

  • @entername3840
    @entername3840 11 місяців тому

    I think its the initial hype of the bike, honestly after going through the specs the only thing that is its selling point is the inline 4 but its still a 400. Considering the Honda 650 is also available in the same cost the bike is over priced. When I looked at it logically this bike didn't make sense. As I could get the ninja 400 and it can do whatever this bike could do with a fraction of the cost or I could go for the larger Honda. Asking $10,000 for a 400 doesn't make sense, kawasaki should bring down the cost of this product as the cost itself is one of the reasons not to go for this bike.

    The weight of this thing is embarrassing and totally ruins it. Typical Kawasaki

    • @TSTindustries
      @TSTindustries  Рік тому +1

      A lot of that weight can be shed pretty easily. Most of the street homologation components on this bike are developed in a very cost effective way that uses heavier and cheaper materials. Kawi did this most likely knowing that they have to include those parts for homologation but most owners will be pulling them off.
