I used to watch your channel when I lived in Dorset and now I'm living in Spain. This year the new drone rules start in the EU and the Spanish site is no better at the moment like yours. I have a selection of drones and the new mini 2 will be a much better to fly on holidays but you still have to register as a operator but like you it seems you have to be a resident of the EU. Passed my A1/A3 test, just waiting for my certificate as an operator. With the new rules in the EU, you have to register what ever size or weight drone fitted with a camera. Interesting times with new laws around the world with drones. Many thanks for your video - stay safe :)

For a mavic air 2 you need a licence to to fly anywhere in Türkiye, yes if they find it, you could be fined and loose your drone, bring a mini instead no problems 🤠

This is so out of date, basically, unless your drone is under 500gms, don't take it. You have to be a Turkish Resident to register it, so holidaymakers cannot register. Under 500 gms you can bring it in without a problem and fly almost anywhere except for over archaeological areas or historical buildings, only daylight within view of drone flying at no higher than 120 meters and not faster than 50km/h. And not over crowds. Search for 2024 laws as regards drone flying in Turkey,
Hi Mick! We're head over to Turkey in the coming months. I tried filling out the form but it's quite complicated. I was just reading that they may confiscate your drone and return it to you on your departure with a fee. Do you happen to know what that fee is? Trying to find info on that but can't seem to see anything just yet
Watched a video of some US guy flying a drone around blue mosque, they downed the drone with one of those anti-drone jammer-weapons. And they apprehended the guy, he was scared s.itless. But they did let him go without any charges or fines, because he was obviously a tourist.
I have traveled to Turkey more than 10 times and have always used my drone and have never been questioned. I am not Turkish and I do not have Turkish residence.
You have to understand that if you strap a bomb to a drone you have a really destructive weapon in your hands.. It's an issue for every country. You can't really "carry" anything with a 500 gram drone so it's easier to fly it or unless you are flying over some critical structure you can "maybe" get away with it with "I didn't know" excuse. IF you have a large drone and get caught using it without a license you will face a fine. A tourist flying a small drone in the middle of nowhere might(!) get away with a "don't do it again" warning though. My house is next to the Turkish Intelligence Agency main campus, I wouldn't even think about flying a kite nearby.
Thank you for the information Uncle Mick. I live in sydney australia and the laws here are if you operate a drone under 2kg you dont need to be licensed just need to register the drone even if your using it commercially. If your drone is over 2kg you will need to have a license. You cant fly your drone near a airport 5.5km distance and over jails. You also need to stay under 120m height. No flying over a populated crowd beachs etc. Lots of the rules are common sense. I think turkey has to many security concerns.
OMG yes they have one one in USA too, they take all the fun out of living, US becoming police state by day. we can not even drink Beer on the beach, no parking after 11 pm, people are becoming home buddies, and bored, we used to have beach parties at night not anymore California is been the worst

Dear Mick Amca, I see your frustrations about drones. I agree them all, besides that Turkey has its laws, you still have a chance to point them, plus people who are ready to listen to you and try to help you out any way, but I might say as an dutch citizen, law is law and there is no chance or a glimp of felxibelity to change any thing, I consider you still lucky :) that all sad sory for my bad English and languagictic mistakes, hayati yasamaya devam, iyi sanslar
Im currently in USA planning a trip to Turkey for the month of June. Im also a Turkish citizen, so registering my DJI Mavic Air 2 is concerning given the time sensitivity. Id need IHA 0 permission; would going to the consulate expedite this process?
@@mickandtrudie even if you get the permissions, over big cities there are long range high altitude gps jammers against air attacks which could be realized by using radio controlled gps equipped drones or planes. in addition to that, over no fly zones, especially military has anti drone rifles. please beware. there were several crashed drone stories heard these days. so fly with ATTI mode and by seeing where you are going to.
Im interested in knowing if they actually weighed your drone. I got the dji 2s which weighs around 590 grams. Hate not being able to take ti because of 90 grams
Hi ZT we don't need any license to fly a drone under 500g - That's why we have a small DJI spark which is 350g so no permission, registration or licence needed. We do have to be careful to only fly in permitted areas. The Turkish Aviation site has a map showing you permitted areas. You will need a Turkish ID to be able to access the map. Hi Mick! Ken Grubb from Turkey Central here. I live in Antalya. I was surprised to find that drones are freely sold in Turkey. But after I bought one, I looked into the legalities of flying it. From what I learned, if I wanted to fly it, I had to fill out a form at the Antalya governorship explaining why I was flying the drone and exactly when (date and time), and what I was taking videos or photos of. Then the governorship would contact the security directorate to ask approval from them. Then I would have to go back to the governorship to get a letter approving the flight to show to any policemen or local authorities who might challenge me as I was trying to fly it. That applies even if I want to fly the drone five feet in the air and take a single photo of myself. That's different from what you were told apparently, which isn't unusual of course. I just thought I'd share my own experience here. Great suggestion though... buy footage from a drone company that already has permission!
Flying a drone in Turkey is a big issue. Turkey takes drones very seriously. If you don't believe me, fly a drone in a prohibited area, air radars will report you to the police immediately.
You might remember incidents with drones which caused shutdown of flight operations in London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports in 2019. I therefore strongly support these restrictions instead of allowing everyone to fly their drones.
There were no drones at Gatwick airport. The whole thing was a hoax. Despite, reporters, and TV crews with Ultra high definition cameras being camped out at the airport and thousands of people with mobile phones all over the property all equipped with cameras. Not one single photograph was captured of the mystery drone. A little strange don’t you think?
@@onentogar7385 That is the point because individuals like you have bought into the hype and fear mongering around UAVs without actually stopping and looking at the facts. Your reference to the non drone at Gatwick is a perfect example.
@@drybiscuit Gatwick might possibly be a hoax (although there is no official statement accordingly in the press) but it is not the sole incident worldwide. Similar events occurred in Heathrow, Milano, São Paolo as well as in Sydney. I don’t wish to be in a plane during takeoff or landing when drones flown by individuals like you are around !! By the way, we are not talking about UAVs or UCAVs but just small commercial drones, which are, of course, “unmanned”.
@@onentogar7385 You clearly know nothing about drones. All drones are UAV's which stands for unmanned aerial vehicle, and you know nothing about me but have formed an opinion based on nothing. Like your opinion against drones. Based on nothing. I operate a fleet of UAV's commercially and hold PfCO and A2CofC from the UK CAA. If you knew or bothered to research the subject you would know that there are articles online regarding the hoax at Gatwick. Additionally, you would also know about GPS ring fencing as well as the fact that it would be virtually impossible for a small off the shelf UAV to bring down a commercial aircraft. Stop eating up the total crap that comes out of mainstream media.

Under 500 gms you can bring it in without a problem and fly almost anywhere except for over archaeological areas or historical buildings, only daylight within view of drone flying at no higher than 120 meters and not faster than 50km/h. And not over crowds. Search for 2024 laws as regards drone flying in Turkey,
@@howardevans6302 you didn’t mention, its forbidden over police stations, military bases, Jandarma bases, schools, hospitals, stadiums etc etc
@@mickandtrudie Good of you to mention it, but i think that's a given across the globe.
Hi Mick! We're head over to Turkey in the coming months. I tried filling out the form but it's quite complicated. I was just reading that they may confiscate your drone and return it to you on your departure with a fee. Do you happen to know what that fee is? Trying to find info on that but can't seem to see anything just yet
No sorry this info is not available
Watched a video of some US guy flying a drone around blue mosque, they downed the drone with one of those anti-drone jammer-weapons. And they apprehended the guy, he was scared s.itless. But they did let him go without any charges or fines, because he was obviously a tourist.
He was lucky 🙈🤠
@@mickandtrudie you forgot stupid & disrespectful !
I have traveled to Turkey more than 10 times and have always used my drone and have never been questioned. I am not Turkish and I do not have Turkish residence.
Yes it’s the same as speeding on the motorway or not wearing your seat belt 🤠😂
has anything changed? i have found some sources saying that you don't need to regiser under 500g? is is true?
A kite 😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the information Uncle Mick.
I live in sydney australia and the laws here are if you operate a drone under 2kg you dont need to be licensed just need to register the drone even if your using it commercially. If your drone is over 2kg you will need to have a license. You cant fly your drone near a airport 5.5km distance and over jails. You also need to stay under 120m height. No flying over a populated crowd beachs etc. Lots of the rules are common sense. I think turkey has to many security concerns.
What a beautiful country u r in. Im coming one day IA
Sagol Mick amca,bilinclendirmeniz iyi,cezalar gercekten yüksekmis :)
Thank you so much for the information 👍👍👍I didn't know they have restrictions in Turkey
OMG yes they have one one in USA too, they take all the fun out of living, US becoming police state by day. we can not even drink Beer on the beach, no parking after 11 pm, people are becoming home buddies, and bored, we used to have beach parties at night not anymore California is been the worst
Can i fly my bayraktar tb2 in Turkey?
Hahaha 😂😂😂✅
Hello, I live in the Netherlands and I am coming to Turkey in March to get married. I want to bring a 250 gram DJI mini pro 3. Will there be any problems?
No problems bringing it in, but there are restrictions on flying watch the video and listen carefully
Thank you very much, I always watch your videos❤🙏
Id need IHA 0 permission; would going to the consulate expedite this process?
to fly any drone with camera on it, you will need a permission.
Correct
No It’s controlled by the civil aviation authority is not the government
@@mickandtrudie even if you get the permissions, over big cities there are long range high altitude gps jammers against air attacks which could be realized by using radio controlled gps equipped drones or planes. in addition to that, over no fly zones, especially military has anti drone rifles. please beware. there were several crashed drone stories heard these days. so fly with ATTI mode and by seeing where you are going to.
@@coskuarsiray My drone won’t fly in these areas 🤠😇
Hi I'm looking to go to side antalya,I was going to take the mini 2 will I be ok to fly that in Turkey on my UK operator's certificate
What happened in the end? Did you take it with you?
Çok güzel arkadaş. Teşekkürler
Im interested in knowing if they actually weighed your drone. I got the dji 2s which weighs around 590 grams. Hate not being able to take ti because of 90 grams
They know the drones and the weight
I was thinking to bring the drone and not use it but sell it. is it good idea Mick amca?
Hi Would it be okay to fly sub 250g drone? in antalya Thanks
Hi,
I also want to take my dji mini2 in a few months. How was your experince and did you have any issues when taking it there and flying it?
Good onya Mick Amca
Mick amca, do you think your British friends tread the globe has a license for drone????
Hi ZT we don't need any license to fly a drone under 500g - That's why we have a small DJI spark which is 350g so no permission, registration or licence needed. We do have to be careful to only fly in permitted areas. The Turkish Aviation site has a map showing you permitted areas. You will need a Turkish ID to be able to access the map. Hope that helps - Chris
Dron çekimleri harika
Hey guys, I am going on vacation in Antalia - Turkey next month and i was thinking on bringing Dji mavic mini with me. Can i fly it on the beach (not over people ofc) without requesting authorization or i will get in trouble?
Thank in advance for the help.
Hi,
I also want to take my dji mini2 in a few months. How was your experince and did you have any issues when taking it there and flying it?
Hi in the end I left my drone at home, however when I was is there a lot of people used their dji mini drones without problems. I'd recommend not to fly it in crowded places and near police stations. If you are exploring places near sea shores, rivers, beaches and hotels there will be no problem.
Thank you
I have a mini 2 do i need permission?
I have a 250 gram drone. Can I take it to Turkey and use it in Turkey. Please answer me.
I am going to Turkey from Dubai the day after tomorrow. Thank you
Dji mini ? Yes
You can bring in a drone 250g but officially to fly it you need permission, but it a grey area,

I think you still can be ok with mavic mini and mini 2
How about if you just buy one in Turkey?
Hmm. Interesting. Did not hear about getting a license. I have a mavic air and a Phantom 3. Got the phantom 3 in 2016. Bought it here. At the time all I saw on the website was the weight limit and having to register it. Never heard of a license. I logged in..... been a few years..... I see my register drone. I dont see any thing about a license. I know ,in the states, you need a license to film for profit. Called a Part 103. Are you confusing commercial flying with recreational flying?
So Turkey has not adopted the EASA regulations then?

Hi, great video, very informative.
I have a mini 3 and will visit Kalkan for the umpteenth time in September, being less than 250g would this be ok to bring in?

Hello
For DJI MINI2, permission required, 249 gram
?
Has anyone in recent time traveled to TURKEY and flown a drone under 500 grams (DJI MINIs) without any registration with authorities.
Flying a drone in Turkey is a big issue. Turkey takes drones very seriously. If you don't believe me, fly a drone in a prohibited area, air radars will report you to the police immediately.
İts because of the terrorist attacks by drone
but why should you fly in an prohibited area?
F ur that stupid to fly it in prohibited areas (airports etc) then maybe I’ll report u myself …
thanks somuch mick amca nice vlog god lucky
Thanks for the information even I am From Turkey and I didn't nkow I live in London your vlogs are great 👍🏆
You might remember incidents with drones which caused shutdown of flight operations in London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports in 2019.
@@drybiscuit That’s not the point. Regardless of whatever happened around Gatwick, unauthorized drones are a security threat for airplanes.
