I buy two pairs of shoes a year and sometimes not because I wear non slip shoes 5.5 days a week for work so my gym shoes last for a long time my J’s from years ago look like my new pair bought last week

I can remember growing up as a child in NJ going shopping for my gym clothes. When we received our school supply list anything required for gym was listed as gym clothing. This is how l remember it from elementary thru high school. It was called physical education in middle and high school, however, in elementary school it was called gymnastics.
When l was a student at Bergen Street School in the 60's they taught gymnastics, and l was shocked when l went to middle school because they didn't have the equipment to teach gymnastics. It could have been a financial decision or BOE was saving themselves from law suits.
Public school has changed so much! Thank God l came along when l did because l loved school. The teachers and the staff took such good care of us, and made sure we received the best education that we could . It is very challenging to do that today because things have changed so much. I work in a public school now, and it is so far away from yesteryears.🥺
