Thanks for +10 million views on this whole channel ladies and gentlemen! Should I RE-REVIEW Grand Theft Auto 2, III, & Vice City? I think I can make better videos of those games... and it gives me an excuse to re-play them again, haha.
ColourShedProductions please do it I love them old school reviews
Hi ColourShed, I just went through all of the Gran Turismo videos, and they made me so nostalgic! I loved 1&3A-Spec particularly because I still have them since I was 4 years old. Anyway, do you think you could do a review of GT Sport? I don't currently own it and I'm thinking about buying it.
I think your GTA2 review still holds up but I haven't seen your VC review in a long time.
I'm definitely down for some more Vice City
yes
Cops chasing you over train tracks and then they get electrocuted was the best!
Aurexia dickhead
@@Val0r468 you'll get used to it.
HOW OLD ARE YOU?!?@?@?@
Midnight Club Still Cancelled Soz I’m offended Midnight Club is cancelled
Aurexia so then why the fuck are you here?
GTA has such a badass soundtrack. I think the cd spent more time in my discman than in my PS1.
And the fact that I'm pretty sure the soundtrack was mainly composed by one person
Wait u could put the game disc into a regular cd players??
I'm 40 and I played this game like a madman, never completed a mission. Back in 2015, I've got GTA V, completed it in about a week.
I remember having a N64 as kid, and being so jealous of my brother's PS1, because he had this game and Metal Gear Solid. It blew me away that you could take any vehicle, run people over, and have police chases.
Why you didn't get body harvest?
@@SONGOKU02 because it was mid
Real OGs would know where it all started
69 likes. Not gonna ruin it.
Yeah
I'm not og
My first GTA... GTA 2 was sooo much better though.
You say that like it's difficult to figure out which GTA is which. They're literally numbered
No question I bought Twista and the Speedknot Mobstas when I bought this I think winter 97-98 the missions were crazy.
This game was where my love for GTA all started back in 1997.
This game was the shit when I was 8 years old, proper nostalgia seeing this. It's funny I liked a lot of the things you complained about. I liked the feel of the cars, just watching this I can remember the feel of each of the different types of vehicle. Stealing and selling the cars was awesome as well. Love the music in the game Aswell. If this was before your time then it's probably best to avoid it
This game is like 7 years older than me and it was still a blast to play
My first GTA was 3 though, so obviously it took a fair time to get used to the gameplay and the feel of the game
I'm moving through Mandarin Mayhem on PC now and it's not an easy game, but so rewarding
@@yobrethren I know you're probably not an American based on your username so you probably don't give a shit but it's weird for me to realize that there are now adults who were born after 9/11
It came out when I was like 12, and I remember loving it so much, one of my favorite games of back then, it was different from anything else, it was very fun and entertaining to me
Damn I'm just as old as this game and it's such a blast to play it. Here's 25 years to GTA 🥂
Its one of those where you had to be there at the time, felt like it played a dream back then but feels almost unplayable now.
wut
Yup.
Takes a while to get used to the feel of it but even then you know it’s dated and doesn’t feel “right”.
@@krishcoolie3064 You said what as if his comment was hard to understand.
Definitely agree. It was so much fun back in the day on PS1, GTA 2 as well. But when I now watch footage of these, I get dizzy from the gameplay footage alone.
This was my first grand theft auto. Imagine how blown my mind was when 3 came out. I must've followed it up to release through E3 footage and screenshots for about a year and a half.
There actually is a damage indicator for the cars in GTA1 but its a very subtle one. Its the engine noise, the more damaged a car gets the louder the engine will rattle.
Yup, And it will slow down too. I forgot this was 3 years ago but oh well, im will comment it anyway.
I used to play the 5 minute demo over and over again, days at a time. I was 11 at the time and happy with what I got, didn't let my 10year old brother play though, he was too young 😂
OMG totally same with me.. I was also about 11.. was playing on my cousin's PC (he had a "beast" at that time :)).. also had a demo-version, which I had played for many many MANY hours..
@@Crudux-Cruo hahaha demo's were fun back in the day :)
I guess the age restriction to play was 11 back then 😂
"Whatever you drive feels like a bulldozer" most accurate analogy I've ever heard when describing the total garbage driving in this game. great video mate!
Some of them were really fast bulldozers though.
@@armyofninjas9055 especially the police cars
I hope your having a great fucking day jak!
@@someguy8951 Don’t get me fucking started on the Superbikes. Those things go from 0 to Mach 1 in a millisecond. It would be fun if you could actually control it well without crashing into a wall or car every 5 seconds.
@@wuffiousmaximus4808 You basically had to tap the acceleration button to stand a chance of riding it
Now this video is a big ol' blast from the past!
I never thought you would do this one nice review
This was a trip down memory lane! Love your content mate, thanks for the video 👍🏼
Bought this game right before i left for freshman year of college. Suffice to say this made my dorm room the place to be first semester. Id walk in from class at 1pm and there already be 7 heads in there going on killing sprees.
"Good shot kid I think you got him"
That made me warm and fuzzy inside
Bro this is such an amazing review. Your channel is just so good. You're putting your soul into it and we (the viewers) appreciate that. You've made many people's days better. 'Much love baby' (c)
I love your videos man this one is my favorite review now!
Great video as always.
As a longtime GTA fan, I started out with GTA 3 and Vice City and everything afterward.
However, when I got my first computer I was obsessed with looking up everything about the franchise, from screenshots to beta trailers and game mods, and I still look up the official fan Wiki on occasion. That is when I first discovered how it all started and even downloaded demos to GTA 2 and Midnight Club II, before playing those titles in full.
While it may feel janky and clunky compared by today's standards, there's a certain charm to it.
Midnight club 2 is the fucking best
Matthew Cool I started with San Andreas. Which is by far my favourite, but that could be nostalgia talking.
But I was happy to find the “three pack” on the PS store and got the first three GTA games and you’re right. By today’s standards they’re a bit jerky (even SA is not as smooth control wise.) But there’s this sort of old school charm to them.
@@someonerandom8552 I remember being hyped for San Andreas by way of reading various Game Informer magazines and catching tv spots with that kickass Guns N' Roses song in the background.
And to put it bluntly, it blew my expectations out of the water and then some.
And sure, while the PS1/PS2 GTA titles may feel a bit janky compared to IV and V, I still find enjoyment out them. Particularly when it comes to the music, where Vice City and its prequel Vice City Stories being my favorite soundtracks.
Matthew Cool I think I randomly played SA because at the time, that was like the most rebellious thing ever, at least that’s what younger me thought lol! A violent video game corrupting my precious little mind, so said all the media around me. And GTA especially got most of the ire. I even got multiple versions of SA through the years. First was a gift for my clunky old af PC. But that broke down years later so I had to seek out another version. Got the 360 version. Which isn’t a good version admittedly, but it was better than nothing I thought. Nephew broke the disc. Le sigh.
I was so happy that I was able to get it on the PS store for my PS4. Thank the gaming gods!
I love the stories for Vice, IV and SA. I mean I still curse at certain missions due to clunky controls. But man, those games are stone cold classics imo.
And I agree with you about Vice’s music. I think I slightly prefer the SA soundtrack, but that could be because that was the “badass” soundtrack lol
Well as kids that’s what we all thought, anyway haha
Matthew Cool By the way, what’s your thoughts on GTAV? I feel like everything is there for me to love it. The graphics are nice, controls are smooth as silk, the characters are amusing and the satire is typical Rockstar. But I find myself playing Red Dead 2 far more often than V.
Whenever I see a new Colourshed video in my subscription box, I know I'm in for a treat and this was no exception :-)
To really appreciate this game, you had to play it in 97. It was a complete game changer.
Awesome content n review SHED !!

Hopefully one day you reach hunders of millions of subscribers..
Keep it up pal..♡♡
Great video! Very well made.
lovely content
Good reviews as always, but I'm waiting for that Forza Motorsport 4 review, good content bro :)
Can you please do a review of GTA Chinatown Wars on either DS or PSP? I feel like it's one of the most unique GTA games but not many people talk about it.
Ah someone else also mentions this
I think he should go with DS to be honest, as much as PSP or Mobile may be better, i do think the, legit experience would be DLC... or emulate it...
@@thattonnatoguywithafez8246 I own it for the DS and it's true that DS gives you the most authentic experience. Makes sense since the game was partly designed around the limitations as well as to take advantage of the then unique features of the DS. PSP does look better but doesn't have the touch mini games. And phone has great graphics but only touch controls, which suck for running around and driving.
@@aprithul Oh don't remind me of the driving, christ sakes, that and shooting, i mean i know aiming in auto aim overhead games isn't needed but dear god i don't know how many times i wanted to punch myself for accidentally shooting at a car.
I got addicted to scratchcards in the DS game.
Great review
Awww yeah, I've been waiting a long time for someone to do a proper review of the original Grand Theft Auto. Thanks for this and congrats on the 10 million+ views!

You just made my day👌
I always get happy when I see a ColorShed video.
Completed it on PC when I was 13 or so. Loved all the flaws You mentioned, because I found it a touch of "realism" at the time. In real life it is difficult as well to fit a trailer into small garage. + Inertia after quitting the vehicles, + trick to look it like 3d while being 2d game, + intro's of the bosses.
Easiest way to beat the game was to not fail any mission, which adds up the bonus multiplier. In that regard 14-15 successful missions in row let's U reach the finishing score.
I love these deep dives into my nostalgic childhood games. Every single sound effect brings me back to playing this as an 8 yr old with my primary school best friend at his house. Also is it me or is that intro song still the shit.
GOURANGA!
I loved GTA back when I was 13, after you’ve played it for hours on end the maps aren’t needed! The viper and lambo was the fastest but soon got damaged due to crashing haha. It was a total game changer for my experience with games, the soundtrack was killer too! Unlike anything I’d heard in a game.
Who remembers the line of Elvis impersonators?

To this day I still bump this soundtrack. Had some really catchy tunes.
Nice review mate. In the 90's that's basically all we had, we have been spoilt nowadays
I would love a Gta1 and Gta2 differences and improvements (and possible un-improvments) between the 1 and 2 jump.
Start of a legend
I remember when I played gta for the first time in 7th grade, I was so hooked once me n my friend figured out how to play together. It's only gotten better since then!
I was addicted to this game back in the day. I remember when the 3rd one coming out and my mind just blew up
Ah I had the demo for this before the game. Flawed it may be but I was addicted as a kid when it came out. Played every one since including LC Stories and London, all those years and how many hours of GTA gameplay!
To bad you review this as if it were a game released today. GTA was great when it was released, the lack of tutorials, not knowing the map and where missions would bring you to. The wonky driving 'physics', difficulty of dying easily and all that. Was part of the magic this game offered. There was nothing like it and it was new territory within gaming. This game made the franchise and it was one of the most popular games of its time.
Also the LAN functionality was amazing for LAN parties or that one classroom in the schoolbuilding with computers.
Exactly spot on. The qwerks, the feel, everything about this game that doesn't necessarily fit on paper is what made it so good
I love the theme songs from GTA and the EZ Rollers song from GTA 2. Brings back so many memories.
Your videos are so interesting to watch
Is like watching a documentary
This game BLEW ME AWAY !!! Still my favourite GTA game till now
my first time ever playing grand theft auto 1 was on the gameboy color that my mom and dad picked up for me.
Got here before 1k views. It ain't much, but It's honest work
Awesome Video hugs :)
Body harvest was so far ahead of its time
This review brought back memories of me and my friend cracking jokes and hate-playing this game so much.
Cazre Thomas forza mototrsport 4 or relaracing 3 must review
Do you think of doing Chinatown Wars? Its suprisingly... neat... even if i used it as an music player to just listen to its soundtrack on the bus... has a good soundtrack even if its light earrape.
Man. I been waitin
The game disc is also an audio CD, I still have mine
Here's 25 years to the game that started it all. 🥂
YAY! ZX Spectrum. Love that machine. Second machine I owned as a kid after the Atari 800XL.
Hope a review of the warriors will come too
Could you make an test drive unlimited 1 review?
I watched my brother play this and always wanted to try it, but for the life of me couldn't find it enjoyable. It's rough, clunky, slow, you can't easily tell where you're going or what's ahead of you, you crash constantly, and the combat was a mess.
Shocked this grew into one of the best selling games of all time tbh lol
And I remember when it came out and the controversy this game caused and they tried to ban it, I remember running over the line of Elvis's
That's GTA 2
Yeah, Elvis impersonators were in GTA 2, not 1.
Never had any desire to play this. All the footage I ever saw of it made me think " Looks like you don't see nearly enough of the screen at once to be able to play", and you confirmed that. Still have no desire to play it, but they sure did get things right later on.
This was the game that got me started in the Grand Theft Auto series. Especially on PC. :)
That intro song (Joyride by Da Shootaz) is burned into my head!
🎶Take it to the edge, there's nowhere to hide
And call up the boys, let's go for a joyride🎶
Will you review Chinatown Wars?
Have you considered doing the splinter cell series?
It’s nice to know people remember this game
Have you done a midnight club 2
Can't wait for race n chase 6
Now this is jump back in time
can you review gt sport because I love it and i also love it when you review up-to-date games and also old games but you already do them alot so gt sport. but im not saying the old games are bad, but i just like to see reviews on games that i actually play today.
DMA Design also made Space Station Silicone Valley on the N64, which is funny when you realize it's a game in which you hijack the bodies of dead robotic animals to solve platforming puzzles and other random shit. It even has at least one SWEAR WORD! On the N64! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
Got it on my PS Classic! Great fun to mess around with. First GTA I played was GTA 3 and upward as a little kid. Cool to finally play the original. Difficult yes but understand when it was made and it was the first GTA it could of been a one and done game anyways!
Been a gta fan since the first 2 games (and the London expansion). Then.....3 came out.... My favorite game series of ALL time.
I literally bought a ps2 for gta3.
I'm soo hardcore that I used to play the demo that limited the game play to only 10 minutes before it would go back to main menu.
I'm so hardcore I play it on the PSP
That soundtrack is banging
Bro your reviews are top notch!!! But I wish you would consider doing these too if you have the energy and time for it of course...

ColourShedProductions I think you should re-review Grand Theft Auto 3. The history behind the game is so interesting with the whole 9/11 controversy and the possible multiplayer mode is just great to learn about also the game is nearly 20 years old so a re-review would be great
the best game in whole serie.. seriously :) I have spent unhealty amount of time with this legend when I was a kid!!
Just wanted to ask this are you going to mention GTA London 1969?
Ah yes, with a printed map and that cheat where you could zoom out the camera, had a lot of fun with this game
Why did I think you already had done this one?
I feel like I'm one of the few who actually played GTA1 and 2
I doubt I can pick them up and play them again though lol
Adam Davis They are not playable today.
But I still want to try them
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 They are available for free and quite playable once you get through the initial learning curve. GTA1 does start to drag a bit due to easy dying, but GTA2 improved a lot on that and many other aspects.
@@IskenderCaglarM41B441 I tried to play the first game years ago but couldn't get into it due to its many issues, and I'm one who normally can endure issues just to beat a game.
I still have my PS1 copy of GTA 2 lol
2 is very playable imo the 1st not so much
Playing this on PsVita with savestates and remappable controls makes it a lot more enjoyable.
I just with the Vita let you remap the touchpads to whatever you want.
Just played it. All I can say really is that you’ll really like it at first but end up despising it immensely after playing for 2 or 3 hours. If all you’re planning to do is mess around in the map then nothing should bother you besides getting used to the controls which can be rebinded at any time. HOWEVER, if you actually plan on actually completing the game, then you have to have 150% patience and dedication cause you’re going to need it.
Oh yeah something I feel that will help out to new players is debug mode which gives you the ability to zoom out the camera. (Simply enter “porkcharsui” as your character name; the “K” and “L” keys will then be set to setting the camera up or down)
11:20 is hilarious.
11:20 hahahahaha that cop got out of his car and the car ran him over hahahaha
i played this game on the Playstation and like... It wasnt bad for me i remember when i was 7 i just zoom through the city in a fast car
dustisdeadbodies85 yeah like I dont remember GTA being this difficult i just remember turning and driving in the middle to avoid on coming traffic
dustisdeadbodies85 i was driving a porsche looking like Light blue car and its sometimes green and orange.. thats really the only car i love driving everything else was so slow that driving in the middle was a little too easy
In GTA Online, they named the racers you can buy for the Arcade after Race'N'Chase!
How long have you played games dude..
use the bottom of your thumb to press the x and the tip for triangle!
And the cars sound different before they explode..
like a grinding ticking
often when making retro reviews people don't understand what games were back in the day, gta 1 was epic, absolute freedom, killing people by driving over them, steal every vehicle, a big city free to discover, those were the things that make the game unique for the time, graphic wise was not on the top in that period but gameplay wise this was so much fun
A new gta review YES !
4:49 Nice.
