Except from Boutiques I only saw the Ploprof once out in the wild. And the guy actually wore it with a suit. I guess you need you need a tailored shirt for this beast to slip under your cuff.
When Omega re-released the Ploprof in 2009 I went into an Omega Boutique and tried it on. Having bought a Planet Ocean Chronograph some weeks earlier I thought the Ploprof would be even heftier on the wrist but I was actually surprised how comfortable it was to wear. I didn't pull the trigger though. It is one of those watches that I love without feeling the need to own it. I guess the quite hefty price plays a role here.
I tried the summer blue ploprof on a couple of days ago at an omega store in London. Having never got hands on with a ploprof of any description, I was blown away. The watch is absolutely incredible! The blue sunburst dial was amazing! Such a cool watch, I loved it. The employee said for me to let him know if I wanted to buy it at any time, I said sure - when I win the lottery and have £13k to spend on a watch I will barely be able to wear, I’ll let you know! Unreal watch, if I had duck tails’ money I’ll add it to the collection for sure.
I like the Ploprif with the grey dial and either the orange or black bezel better, but that's just me. Even in the colorway you've chosen, I'd definitely go for the Ploprof.
Today I tried a Ploprof Summer edition. It's simply stunning. I prefer the classic color scheme (black and orange) and the mesh bracelet, but the new monobloc case is a masterpiece.
I owned a second hand steel Ploprof (the previous generation) and it was a great experience. However, at 274 grams, I could not wear it for a long time and sold it after about a month. The "professional grade diver" itch was eventually scratched by a Rolex Sea Dweller 16660 - same specs as the Ploprof in a much smaller size, just a "beefed up" Submariner.
If I actually went diving (or even snorkeling) on a regular basis, I would definitely have bought that. Everybody remembers this piece for its unique case shape, but I think the dial and the hands show some truly great utilitarian design too. I wish Omega used these dial and hands in some other Seamaster models too.
This is a perfect watch for anyone who likes big watches. If you like your G shock watches and are used to large watches, this is nothing on some of those sizes, for both men and women. This is actually on the small side compared to some large g shocks. Love large watches here. Great video!
This is the watch equivalent of the BMW GS adventure motorcycle. It’s so ugly it’s cool but just does everything you need, and you know will continue to do so forever.
I have this watch, this colour, solid review, for those who haven't seen it in the flesh this video represents exactly what it is, physically large but light and wearable, I have never seen one in the wild so if you are looking for unique in a sea of common this is it!
There’s nothing else like it. I love it. Excellent fair review. There’s some in steel pre-owned knocking around I wonder how they feel compared to titanium. Thanks Bruce
I really want to try one of these one. Too much money for me to justify as a “second” watch, as it doesn’t seem like a very good everyday wear. Great video though!
This is not for everyone, that s the point, very strong identity. But i never understood why even Omega keeps define it as a "55mm watch", this is not. Not a small watch for sure, but it doesnt wear as big. We can see that when you put it next to the ultra deep, the lume shot comparison is obvious at 4:51 To include the crown gard in the measurement is ridiculous. Thanks for the review and congrats to Bruno, this is a gorgeous watch ❤
It’s very cool. But the bezel mechanism confuses me. I get that it’s meant to be a safety feature. But I do dive with my dive watches (as a back up). Sometimes I set then leave the bezel alone for the whole dive, but sometimes I’ll reset it to measure a safety/deco stop towards the end of the dive. I can’t imagine taking this watch off underwater to operate the bezel (two handed). Risk of dropping would be way too high! Seems like an over-engineered solution - unidirectional bezels work just fine!! 😁
Bad luck they discontinued this model with very different colours but the summer blue is still available but its on a wishlist. Favourite colour is gold on titanium It has been surpassed by the ultra deep
I think the Ploprof is a killer watch, but it’s a lot. It takes a certain type of person and a very specific mentality to pull it off, but overall it just seems like a lot fun. I’d like to get one, but personally it’s too much, if it were made a little smaller and a little thinner (maybe with a quartz movement to increase precision and durability) It’d be a very appealing watch. Also, was that a bowl of raisins in some of the b-roll?
This watch has been intriguing me for years. Havent had the chance to try one in the flesh but I have a suspicion that I might fall in love with if I every had the chance to try it on 😂
Love the Proplof but not this color combination. I would use it as a daily if I had the money, my daily is a Citizen BN7020-09E so I'm used to big clunky watches.
I had the chance to try this watch in an Omega Boutique. Bruce, you‘re absolutely right! This watch is great! A great conversation starter. This is not a Submariner everybody got and nobody cares about because it‘s boring. This watch is exclusive, special, uncommon! That‘s why I love it! This watch is for a real watch collector!
I want the new one, but they don't exist. I have been to several large boutiques, other than Hawaii, and no one has seen even a single unit. The height stopped me from getting the previous model.
I’d definitely wear this watch! But it would most likely be infrequent in the rotation so for sure could only justify paying the price of lots of surplus cash. Sadly not! 😅
I think it’s a cool watch and if I had unlimited space and money it would be in my box. However, otherwise I could never justify it as there are probably 30 other watches I’d rather have with that money. And far more usable
This watch is analogous to a minivan. It’s surprisingly good but literally zero young boys aspire to own one. This watch is hipster cool. You get the sense that people who like it, like the fact that most people don’t more than they actually do like it. Also, let’s be honest with ourselves; divers don’t actually use these watches. Certainly not professional divers. Yes, I’m sure your uncles best friend does but it’s got to be the same percentage as people who take their Ferraris to track day
The Ploprof is my favourite dress watch
We just need James Bond to wear one with a tux then everyone else will want to as well

Cool! Love the quick hour hand adjust so you will be able to adjust the time quicky when diving between oceans with different time zones 😜
Love this piece. Its wackiness is the appeal. We need a video on the Spinnaker too!
Big up to Bruno, from a Breguet Tradition to a Ploprof what a collection, enjoying all the sidesof the hobby that's the way to go for me too
100
I bought this watch last year and I love it. It's surprisingly comfortable especially on the rubber strap.
What a beast! I love it, and I'm happy it goes against the grain. We need more of this in today's world.
I like the Ploprif with the grey dial and either the orange or black bezel better, but that's just me. Even in the colorway you've chosen, I'd definitely go for the Ploprof.
Almost like tying a Zippo lighter to the wrist. Love the Ploprof.

Amazing SD!
After trying one on, at Brent Miller, a couple years back, I was very close to buying it. It’s still in the back of my head.😂
This will live in my head until I buy one

I love these, too expensive though. The baby ploprof is super tempting

Especially with light titanium. That has an effect
Love the Ploprof 😍 I prefer the gray dial/orange bezel variant.
Love the review and the watch! You do not need two hands to move the bezel it is just a 3 finger operation while wearing it.

I love mine, wears so well and puts a smile on my face every time i wear it… a Swiss G shock :)
Had the white pre version white on the orange strap. Your review let me missing it again.
The size and brutal form gives ae feeling of invincibility.
There’s nothing else like it.
I love it.
Excellent fair review.

You can adjust it with one hand. Middle finger to unlock and index finger and thumb to turn the bezel.
Love it in videos but I have yet to ever see it in person!
Really like the colors!
It looks ready for adventures! I like it.
I love them. Someday I may burn down part of my collection to get one.
I think that is likely my future as well
Ahh, The Omega Seamaster Panerai!
Bad luck they discontinued this model with very different colours but the summer blue is still available but its on a wishlist.

Some rose quartz. My daughter and I have started collecting cool rocks
@@BruceWilliams aww, that’s cute! Collecting cool stones absolutely _rocks!_
Great review. i have the ti/grey dial version...love it. BTW, It's a sapphire bezel not ceramic
Some of them are sapphire, and some are ceramic. This one is ceramic 👍
Such an amazing workhorse
I have this exact model and love it. The light weight makes it very wearable and it’s definitely a conversation starter. Btw. Its PloProf. Not ProPlof
This watch has been intriguing me for years. Havent had the chance to try one in the flesh but I have a suspicion that I might fall in love with if I every had the chance to try it on 😂
If you try it on, it will be over for you lol it is so cool

I wouldn't mind having one
Definitly is cool piece !
One one, they're awesome
Beautiful watch
Probably the coolest omega imo..not easy to wear it everyday at the office though. A bit exp for a tool though.
I’d definitely wear this watch! But it would most likely be infrequent in the rotation so for sure could only justify paying the price of lots of surplus cash. Sadly not! 😅
A very controversial design, it could even be mistaken as an Invicta for those who are size sensitive. Yet, it looks nice.
Great watch!
It is a damn cool watch 😎 It is not at the top on my shopping list but if I get the Jackpot it will be mine 😁
I love it!
I'd get the Proplof over the Ultra Deep. The later is just a bloated big brother of the Planet Ocean, which you've already had.
It's a fantastic watch for me. It's a submarine for the wrist. I don't care what others think.
What Einstein decided to put that bracelet on this watch? Hideous!
yeah - total bad ass
I think it’s a cool watch and if I had unlimited space and money it would be in my box. However, otherwise I could never justify it as there are probably 30 other watches I’d rather have with that money. And far more usable
Chris the watch guy rocks a proploff. You should have checked out his.
Initially I hated it. But it’s grown on me. I prefer the summer blue variant. That said I’d only buy it if I had an unlimited budget.
Ploprof over Ultra deep any day of the week
I would love to own the summer blue Plo Prof but can't see myself spending 13K on it
Ugly ? Go wash your mouth. It's one of the most beautiful watches ever made.

Certainly not a minivan. I think more like a Land Rover Defender, Or the original Hummer.
@@scottwexlin6456false. Those are objectively cool vehicles. Maybe more like a minivan with great mileage and low service requirements.
Haha I don't see it. The minivan has wide appeal to families. This watch has no wide appeal to any demographic
Just watch an ordinary day for the public on the Nurburgring…
You’ll see plenty.
This mega tool is no minivan, imho.
@@jeffee1933”false” … lol don’t be so certain in your opinions. This is a niche watch that fills little role. Your minivan comparison is terrible.
It is fucking cool.
If it where 38 mm.
I buy in a hart beat
The ugliest great watch
It’s been over a month of waiting for a new clasp for my $13,000 one year old omega 😡😡 omegas customer service must be the worst in the industry
I’m sure it’s a good watch, but my god is it ugly 🫣
