    Hey guys- this is a wonderful series and a real inspiration. How did you finance to project and whose shed is that were all the work is taking place? Finally, to date, what has the boat cost, parts and labor.

    Just a little tip when you're varnishing put a little can of varnish and put a candle underneath it because it will lay down a lot easier.

    Went to buy a shirt to help support the project. Will you be restocking out of stock colors in XXL or should I find a different color?

    • @SailBros
      @SailBros  3 роки тому +1

      Just looked into it! We don't control what's in stock so we'll reach out to the company that produces the shirts and try and get an answer. Sorry about that!

    Hello, how do you like using that premixed epoxy fillet in the tube? I saw some reusable tubes for standard caulk guns but have not used either of them. I was thinking to beef up my deck to hull joint along with some 17 oz cloth on the inside where it is hard to get at. Saw your epoxy gun and thought that would be easier to use in that awkward location. Thank you for any feed back.

    • @SailBros
      @SailBros  3 роки тому +1

      I would definitely recommend it. Kind of pricey but makes the work go faster and you don’t have to worry about the thickened epoxy going off on you during longer jobs. Good luck!

    The part when you guys are joking about how long it takes got me, my partner and I bought a little 22ft back in January and I thought it would take me about 2 months to sand and refinish all the wood, ended up only finishing last week 😂

    I love Cheoy Lee's, they have nice classic lines. That is some project though! Did you have any problem getting that blue painter's tape off? Is there a limit on how long you can keep it on before it sticks more or less permanently?

    Great video. Being in Texas sunshine I would consider really building your varnish up. Like 12 coats minimum. I would hate to see your hard work fall apart down the road. You are doing great keep it up.

    • @SailBros
      @SailBros  4 роки тому +1

      Yeah it's definitely something to consider. It's such a tedious process, but the effort to do more coats is probably worth it. Thanks for watching!

    he could repair the masts by fabricating a new step, with a slug at the bottom to replace the damaged part, and shoulders around its top to support the mast base. I had to do that on my ally keel stepped mast on my Pearson, because the bottom was subject to corrosion due to electrolysis differences between the previous steel step and the mast. I think it was pretty much destroyed below about 80mm

    Nice job! Maybe you can put that rubber sealant all around the door over the chain locker - in rough sea quite a bit of water gets there..

    Before you buy a boat you need to learn about boats, you want as long of a waterline as possible, waterline length equals boat speed, yo have long unsupported overhangs instead = slow boat

    • @SailBros
      @SailBros  4 роки тому +1

      That’s ok. I’m not in a hurry and I like the look. Thanks for watching!

    • @gynat5968
      @gynat5968 3 роки тому

      the "overhangs" were designed to lengthen the waterline when on a heel for faster boat speed, while allowing better light wind performance. Great boat and pretty as well.
