Hi. Very nice Roger, you certainly know your stuff. I have found these areas very good on mulloway if fishing a live bait under a bobby. The drummer was absolutely huge, even your camera person was impressed.🤗 Cheers
Love the north side when the weather's from the South. Used to catch a lot of groper there before the DPI ruined it with that stupid decision. Thanks for another interesting video Roger.
hey Roger, that stingray is really good, cut it with the bones and deep fry it or make a stew with potatoes, carrots and red and green peppers.it´s a delicacy here in Portugal.really expensive in seafood restaurants.
Hi Roger. I had my first crack at fishing off the rocks last Monday. Thanks for all the tips I have picked up from you and Starlo. I caught 4 Luderick and something big that got hung up and I couldn't land it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience. Kind regards MP
Yes, good call, I'm waiting to see a fillet of fresh salmon , ganged hooks , 15kg line and a 12kg kingfish landed , just after sunset, I settle for a mulloway, a big snapper or a gummy .
The double hook up at the start was two female crimsonband wrasse, Notolabrus gymnogenis, the females aren’t very crimson nor banded 😂. Not very big but they actually have quite nice meat, similar to other wrasse, soft, white, and with a mild sweet flavour. I personally like it over Luderick and drummer. Māori wrasse I’ve heard of also being called butcher’s pr*ck (ophthalmolepis lineolata) are slender and shaped a bit like their name sake 😂they also have distinctive blue lines marking their face hence their other common name. Love the videos, please keep them coming. Lots of decent kingfish being caught recently along the south coast, perhaps you could try go for them?
22:15 Sal the salmon at the reef bar tells his mate he was caught in a double header with Raymond and the fisho kept Raymond and let him go. The entire bar laughed and many haven’t stopped.
I have tried them a couple of times and was not impressed, once mushed with its liver and cooked on coals was almost ok, supposedly good survival food. I would love to hear how it was for you and how you cooked it?
Hey Roger! Thank you, I will definitely use your tip on not putting tension after casting when fishing off the rocks with a sinker. What size / weight sinker do you use in this setup?
Thanks for stressing rock safety..In hindsight I was really stupid by retrieving my top bunk fishing off margate pier (south africa)without any safety gear..
biggest snapper I have ever caught off the rocks (very nearby where you are in this video) was 5.9kg and had a monster beach worm in its guts. Only time ive ever seen a beach worm inside a snapper.
What about the basics like what you are wearing today and taking to fish with your kit .who knows where you are. Do you take a phone. Hat? Sunscreen? Shirt shorts , life vest? What is a must to take!
Hi Roger, thanks again for your efforts and videos. Could you please help me with a rig suitable for beach fishing that isn't easily tangled. I fish nearby where I live and it is quite steep and turbulent. I usually use a running sinker to a swivel, then a black magic tuff trace 20lb leader to a hook. This still quite often tangles up around one another. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Stingray tastes gr8, i caught last friday night and i made a garlic stir fry with the wings of the stingray ,veggies and gr8 tall cup of tea. How did u do yours? I really enjoy ur videos. Keep it up!!
are prices for all things high enough that fishing makes all the sense in Australia now?!? It is very high here in southeast USA. Hope you catch all the tasty ones! TY for the content! ;)
Reckon that might be a rare land-based blue groper that the other fella caught? I’m aware their protective status has changed in NSW recently (thanks spearfishos!) but I’ve heard from fishermen from before my time that they were a prized landbased catch due to their fussy eating habits, fierce fighting and often treacherous conditions endured to target these fish.
10:10, you have been hawrassed! 🤣 just to stay in the dad's joke spirit 🤭

The most important take-away from this session is the life-jacket , good one Roger. Safety -first consideration
“….can you believe that….?” ….of course we believe it Roger….I reckon you could catch fish in a puddle….LOL!
"LOL"

You can keep your sting rays but I dare say ( and expect) you will keep us updated
Love your work Roger, thanks again for the great content. Tight lines!

Another great video Roger! It would be good to see how you deal with the stingray too, such as unhooking and handing

Great content Roger. Can i get the rock spikes in South Africa?
I'm looking forward to hearing how you filleted and cooked it and most importantly was it digestable?
great message about safety on the rocks when fishing , alot of people take it for granted
Thanks No Drama
Big snapper come in very close to rock ledges after a big blow.
Yes that’s right Alistair

Where is the catch and cook for the sting ray?
Can you please share the location? One of the nicest and calm rock fishing places I've seen. Easy to take my family!
this spot is not easy to take a family, i wouldn't suggest taking kids climbing over the rocks to reach this spot, can get dangerous.
@@KermitTheFlogga where is it though? might just go with a few friends

Wondering what sort of life jacket you're wearing?
26:20 good decision ;)
let us know what the ray tastes like ive heard there not much good but depends on how you cook things.
It was edible, 5 of us tried it, but I prefer fish.

I've used plastic gulp worms off the rocks and only caught wrasse with them 😅
Okay
How big do the worms get?
smoked sting ray wings are yummy. South East Asians eat this a lot
Don’t be gentle with a drum, Roger that!
Fanggs A Lot 😂😂😂😂😂
LMAO you are a salmon magnet😂😂
Hi Rodger!!Can you please tell me where is thesase spot___Thanks!!!
Bawley Point
24:15 you might get another Ray to take home ;)
great videos you make
who is filming you so nicely?
It's a fact - fish like worms!
Fangtastic
wrasse, wirrah, pjs, rays typical rubbish nuisances at least no snags with that sinker finding the bottom.
