Goofy Monsters in Classic Movies

Mid-century classic movies are full of outlandish and downright goofy monsters. The sci-fi and horror genres are packed with creative and often unintentionally hilarious creatures. Though in their time there were plenty of young movie fans who feared them, there were some which inspired laughter from the beginning, as could be seen with a preview audience for The Giant Claw (1957) with its frazzled space bird villain. This video shares the diversity in these creature designs and the hilarious similarities in creature behavior (stiff movement/walking, an eye for the ladies and a penchant for carrying them around, stilted speech) and how people reacted to them (standing still when a creature could be avoided by just RUNNING the most common).
