- This week I sit down with film blogger, author and all round kung fu cinema encyclopedia, Blake Matthews.
We discuss his kung fu genre journey, physical media and naked fight scenes before getting into Blake's top 55 fight scenes of all time. It's a long one.
Some very minor technical issues due to spotty connections aside, this was one heck of a fun conversation and I'm honored that Blake joined me. Enjoy!

Great knowledge
Thanks shaun i really enjoyed this blake journey is very similar to mine i started with snake in the eagles shadow that my late dad rented for me and bro then i appreciated the choreo and story all the best sir
Thank you for watching! It seems a lot of people’s gateway to genre is Jackie Chan. It’s awesome.
Some good choices there. You may be interested to know that in Thunderbolt, JC was mostly doubled by Sam Wong Ming-sing throughout the film. A lot of the pachinko fight was Korean martial arts actor Kadet Lee Seung-hoon from Sammo's team. Cho Wing even doubled him a few times and Ngai Sing doubled fro him in the garage fight in a few shots. I even spotted Mars doubling for him in one or two shots. Though strangely enough, I didn't see Chin Ka-lok double him, even though I've heard others suggest it. They're probably mistaking Kadet for Chin.
Great info! Thank you!
Ah, you can also find Bagua in Holy Robe of Shaolin Temple; The Undaunted Wudang; and Escape Plane: The Extractors.
And Fung Hak-On uses it in IP MAN 2.
Boring as hell
I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy it.
Sorry to hear that, sir.
