@@bpgsontz1072 it’s a Skinner Sights Scout Rail. Installation is a bit more complicated than a normal base, but not too bad. I had a gunsmith drill and tap the forward holes in the barrel and then I had to epoxy bed the front of the rail. I detail it here: Practical Bush Rifle - Epoxy bedding a Skinner Scout Rail and the Ruger American Stock ua-cam.com/video/ml31NubNu1w/v-deo.html
No it’s not hard at all actually. I wasn’t sure initially if the bino pouch would be too much but it’s not. I shoot from the prone regularly with it on and what’s interesting is the kit bag actually works similar to a rear bag for the rifle.
Thanks for watching! It’s the Wiser Precision Quick Clip adapter. I use it in this video: Practical Shooting in the Wind ua-cam.com/video/WJfQfhYhyAI/v-deo.html
I can't begin to express my gratitude for all you've done to help educate us. I hope we meet some day sir, you have much to teach us.
You’re welcome, thank you for tuning in! I do classes every year and I can honestly teach more in a four day class than I can in hours of videos.
Good rundown and the why's and what fors all make sense,
Nate

Where did you get the extended picatinny rail for the ruger, mate? I've been looking everywhere, trying to turn mine into a scout rifle!

I layer my gear in a similar way. Plus up and down. A question, what part of the country are you in?
I live in eastern Montana.
You make good points but you have so much stuff on the front, getting in the prone will be very difficult.

What is the gizmo on the front pic rail?

What rifle is that?
It’s a Ruger American Ranch Gen 1 in 6.5 Grendel.
