    Good review. I was skeptical but pulled the trigger on one and now my bg becker patrol pack is my favorite pack.

      Awesome! I’m glad it worked out for you. It’s pretty hard to beat for the type of pack it is and the size of load it’s designed to carry. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Miss my old Becker pack that I bought at A.I.T in the Army back in the 90s. I now own 3 bongo becker packs in Vietnam Tigerstripe.

      That’s awesome, were they for sale on base back then?

    My two main medium rucks are an Alice and HPG Aston. I love the Alice pack for the pack design and love the hill people gear for the harness and frame system, this literally combines the best of both worlds.. awesome!

      Yes sir, that’s exactly right. I really like my Decker Pack Frame for when I need a large pack, but for a medium size I prefer the Becker. I have an Umlindi also, but I like the layout of the Becker more. Thanks for stopping by!

    Good review. Looks like a great pack. Does it fill the same niche as the HPG Umlindi?

      Thank you, I have an Umlindi as well but I prefer the Becker because of its outside pockets. Thanks for checking out the video!

    Great video. Exactly what I’ve been looking for. Any chance you can advise if the side pouches will fit USGI 2 quart canteens?

      @BadlandsRifleman  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks! I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t, at least not all the way full. I remember the owner of Bongo Gear telling me he likes the 1.5 liter hydrapak bottles in his. My 1 liter bottles fit easily too.

      @@BadlandsRifleman thanks. I am still set in my old Alice gear days in some regards. Love the 2 quarts. And like to carry two of them on my pack

      @@BadlandsRifleman also forgot to ask, if you didn’t have the sleeping mat, would it ride on top of belt kit ok?

    • @BadlandsRifleman
      @BadlandsRifleman  3 місяці тому +1

      @cap6888 I get it haha. Those 2 quarts are handy. There’s a nice band of MOLLE that goes around the top of the pack that I’m sure you could mount them to.

      @@cap6888even with the pad, it should ride well on a belt kit.

    WHAT YOU DO IS CHANGE OUT PLCE POUCHES FOR 6L SAVOTTA L ZIPPERED POUCHES. YOU CAN PUT A 3RD ONE ON THE BACK OF THE PACK. YOU ONLY GET 18L INSTEAD OF 25L BUT IT RIDES BETTER.

    • @BadlandsRifleman
      @BadlandsRifleman  3 місяці тому

      That’s interesting. I’m a big Savotta fan, I’m actually planning a video on one of my Savotta packs. Did you ever use the PLCE day pack yoke?

      @BadlandsRifleman I HAVE THE SAVOTTA JAAKARI L....ITS A GREAT PACK....FITS MY BODY LIKE A GLOVE. IT LOOKS LIKE A GIANT SEA BAG COVERED IN MOLLE!
      TOUGH AS NAILS! YOU CAN PUT 4 SAVOTTA ZIPPERED L POUCHES ON IT TOO!!! LOVE IT!!! ITS MY WINTER BAG FOR CARINTHIA 4 OR 6 BAG DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER!

      @user-zi5lx6lx5k Those are nice packs for sure, I don’t think a guy can go wrong with Savotta gear.

    IF YOU USE A KARRIMOR 45L SF, YOU WONT GO BACK TO THAT PACK.....

    • @BadlandsRifleman
      @BadlandsRifleman  3 місяці тому +1

      I actually had the 45 L predator a few years ago with the PLCE pouches on the side. It’s a really good design as well. I didn’t care for how it rode though, it always felt like a beach ball on my back. The PLCE packs have always been interesting though.

    EBERLESTOCK HEAVY DUTY STRAPS ON A HALFTRACK IS THE BEST PATROL PACK IN THE WORLD!!! KARRIMOR 45L PATROL PACK IS A 1a.....

    • @BadlandsRifleman
      @BadlandsRifleman  3 місяці тому

      I’ve had the Karrimor Patrol pack, it’s nice but the Becker is better. I haven’t used the half track personally but I’ve been around them. If I recall they are really heavy for what they are.

      Hey Jim! I could always do more squats! So I had to go look it up, I was thinking of the sky crane at 11 pounds. The half track looks like a good design too, I know lots of guys that really like Eberlestock. I guess I just got ruined on the ALICE pack too much lol. Semper Fi!

    • @user-zi5lx6lx5k
      @user-zi5lx6lx5k 3 місяці тому +1

      @BadlandsRifleman THE HALFTRACK IS 35L, BUT I PUT MYSTERY RANCH RIPZIP 4L POCKETS ON THE OUTER MOLLE....PUTS IT AT 43L WHICH IS A GOOD SIZE PATROL PACK. IT STAYS REALLY CLOSE TO YOUR BACK. YOU CAN FIGHT WITH IT!!!

    • @BadlandsRifleman
      @BadlandsRifleman  3 місяці тому

      @user-zi5lx6lx5k I think 45L is about ideal, anything bigger and guys get tempted to put more stuff in than they need, and if it’s smaller they end up using bungees to hold everything lol
