- Getting the One Step Forward Achievement is quite easy, if you then transition into the Not A Step Back Achievement then both are pretty easy. Can also get just proper gander at the same time.

imgur.com/a/vJrH8Z7 A little proof that you can just keep going and get the other 2 achievements. Nothing of note will happen on historical if you don't declare on anyone.
"Dont have 500K in the field, thats awkward"
Kills many tens of thousands in Konigsburg
Hadn't thought about how I was going to take out Italy yet.
27:01 Shoutouts to Leon Trotsky creating the 4th International from beyond the grave
Well, he probably still has followers even after his death
@@juncheok8579 he *still* has followers, so yeah
the real issue with not a step back is actually waiting for '45
I know im late, but if you puppet Germany you also get the "The Revolution Tiumphant" achievement
"It's just polish equipment, what are you really missing?"
F in the chat for polish gamers...
IIRC by international law the Bosphorus is closed to all belligerent war shipping, which is why countries at war can't pass it
Except for 2 armies worth of divisions went through the bosphorus after I naval invaded italy.
@@71Cloak Probably because they were convoys
There's an event at the start where Turkey remilitarizes the straits and on historical USSR you always get access to them if you push for it
No reason for Russian ships to be unable to pass through there with permission
Thanks for the excellent guide. I tried this twice, and found that it goes much better with Mass Assault Doc since the supply is abysmal due to the size of the army.
Soviets start with paratroopers researched so you can also just build a few transports and jump over Austria, then grab a port and bring the rest of the army by sea.
Another idea that I'm not sure if it actually works but maybe you could put diplomatic pressure towards Austria and get military access from them and then paradrop next the border.
The Soviet Union: the largest nation on earth, a superpower's superpower, the mighty red army, most powerful in the world
71Cloak: we're gonna import 1 rubber, not 2, the second one isn't really worth it
Really enjoy watching your playthroughs
lol THANK YOU, I killed them one at a time twice and couldn't understand why, but this explains it. Now I have 2 puppets may as well do COMECON and see what else there is to do
17:53 they're bombing your oil fields haha but it seems in game resource bombing is not so great. I heard the French and the British were planning to bomb there to prevent Germany buying oil from USSR.
after watching 2 of your videos i lerned more than from 1000 hours of glameplay
in my own run i did a successful stalin game for the first time and got all the achieves except for proper gander and one step forward. i missed out on the proper gander achieve by 1 campaign when it became 1945 (only had 29)
As far as I know you should only be able to move through Turkey if they have this demilitarized zone.
At ~1:55, why do you delete the cavalry?
Why not convert them into normal infantry instead?
(I'm assuming you'd lack the guns, and don't need the divisions, but why presume when I could just ask?😋)
Exactly no equipment and not enough supply for them either. They provide no value whatsoever.

Cool, thanks! :)
I was playing Vanilla and UK guaranteed Poland so I had to go to war with the entire commonwealth as well. Stopped a landing took Poland declared war on Germany got one step foward then gave up. If it was just Poland and Germany it would be so much easier.
why dont you use the field marshal frontline on tanks to get planning whitout the tanks moving by themself
I do sometimes other times i dont feel like doing the extra micro.
What's the part that many think is difficult about not a step back? Is it the south where you have cores right next to the border or does Germany make its way through all of eastern Poland?
In Poland it's pretty simple to just defend at the border rather than going back to defend behind the river. I only get pushed back a few tiles in Poland every time I play the USSR. And there's no special plan I use other than making a huge army for defending and not building offensive capabilities until that's done.
I think you fail to take into consideration how many people can't even effectively hold the river line against Germany. Also italy will naval invade if they get bored and that can ruin your entirr run.
@@71Cloak Yeah this happened to me, after I took berin I got a notifcation that Stalingrad fell and I was so confused. I got naval invaded from down there, I just wasn't paying attention, I only protected my coasts in the north.
I puppeted Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Lithuania before the war started and didn't call them just to force the Germans through Poland, level 5-10 forts on the border and even still they stomped through the plains like nothing and almost took a core on the border. 3 to 1 divisions couldn't hold the Germans back lol
That said I did hold for the achievement, but it was by a small margin I had to do another run for the propaganda one. It seems much easier to just cheese Germany pre-Anschluss.
I'm so upset paradox did soviets this way, like Stalin being paranoid and killing his military staff. The real story was much more interedtong, and terrifying, and would be great for a game.
westoids need their daily dose of anti soviet cranberry
we all know Stalin was just running around with a Nagant revolver and shooting random people on the street for no reason, for real, for real, no cap
How did you move the arrow for the battle plan @ 7:56?
Alt click it and drag.
at 16:44 how did you order the support attack? I know how to command a support attack when another unit is attacking but not when no units are attacking. Does it have to do with the field Marshall order?
Control alt right click the tile.
@@71Cloak After some hundreds of hours I learned this only now.
I'm confused. Why do you have to wait to cap Poland?
achievement only works if youre at war with pol and ger at the same time
Nice
tnx
Looks like this could even have included the 'we don't really like statistics' achievement. That would make it a 4 in 1 run.
Actually it would have gotten me the achievement if I didn't already have it.
If you puppet germany this is even a 6 in 1 guide (german puppet, the pope).
Communist nationalist Spain... man that's cursed hahah
what mod do u use, gor the betyer frontlines
Strategic view adjustments mp variant
Promote Semyon Timoshenko to Field Marshal. Career officer, politically connected. Promotes for 10CP, doesn't have old guard, doesn't get purged (by default).
Doesn't have inflexible strategist. Unyielding defender is one of the best traits in the game.
It's kinda a shame that those videos are standard difficulty and not higher
How do I support attack please hell
control alt right click a tile.
@@71Cloak THANK YOU SO MUCH the wiki just says control right click, also have you have a normal Soviet guide or just the the where you declare war on Poland and Germany at once
I did do a normal soviet guide from right after nsb came out. Soviets have been buffed a little since then and you can't do light tanks into modern tanks anymore but otherwise it should be good.
