Great video Griz! That's why I prefer to carry pre-1990's Champs, since I feel they were just made better than their contemporaries.. You missed ONE big giveaway though.. the pre 1990's Champs have the split ring on the left, as the post 1990's Champs miraculously have them installed on the right!!
The early version 1986 swiss champ has the 2.7mm pliers all others have the 3.2mm thick pliers so quite rare now a days, but it also never had the pin in the plus scales, which the rear scale was solid apart from the tool slots. The newer 2005 on back scales also taper to the regular thickness at the top, the original plus back scale was thicker than the face scale too ! Its also worth a mention that for the said reason the very early model is approx 2mm slimmer in profile? I have also heard that back spring failures were encountered? And indeed I have had this on one I've had in the past .
Just finished dinner and relaxed after watching this video, nice comparison,on a side note do you know if there are any SAK clubs or society’s out there.

I was just comparing the tools mainly. Never even noticed the difference in the keychains.

Swisschamp sunday... Better make this a regular thing!
It looks like Victorinox has modernized nearly every tool over the years without changing the character of the knife.
Just finished dinner and relaxed after watching this video, nice comparison, and on a side note do you know of any SAK clubs or SAK societies out there.
Chaîne très intéressante à laquelle je m'abonne. Merci pour le partage.
Merci d'avoir regardé mon ami.

There are, VSAKCS the Victorinox SAK Collectors is a good one to check out. They do a quarterly newsletter and release a knife each year.
