Paul McCartney and Jane Asher holiday in Tunisia
Thursday 4 February 1965
Paul McCartney and Jane Asher arrived in the seaside town of Hammamet in Tunisia for a 10-day holiday on this day.
They stayed at a villa owned by the British Embassy, where they stayed free of charge. The villa was secure and discreet, allowing McCartney and Asher to explore the coast south of Tunis without attracting press attention.

In the grounds of the villa was a small amphitheatre, and inside the house was a lavish bathroom with a sunken bath. The acoustics were perfect for songwriting, and McCartney wrote ‘Another Girl’ in the bathroom.
The couple returned to England on 14 February, the day before recording began for the Help! album. #paulmccartney
John said this was Paul's greatest love song.

I've always believed Paul to be very soft-hearted and loving by nature. If Linda had lived to old age they would never have parted.

They had 4 children and those kids needed to see their moms things to remember. Heather tended to exaggerate about everything, so I'm thinking the Shrine wasn't some massive thing!! Heather the wife got a few million in the divorce. He's so sweet, he didn't deserve her!There's an awesome interview on UA-cam that his daughter after Heather who was Linda's daughter, Paul adopted her. Watch that interview she did with her dad. It's so sweet! What a great dad he is!

When Jane left Paul, he was "heartbroken and blamed himself", according to Cynthia Lennon. Around this time he wrote Hey Jude, Honey Pie, Martha My Dear, The Long and Winding Road, and Let It Be.
Paul told a newspaper journalist in December 1968 - six months since their split - they were "still in love with one another, but it's impossible." He penned Oh! Darling around this time. Jane had made her mind up and refused to take him back. "When Jane Asher left, Paul and the house fell apart." - Mal Evans

Alistair Taylor goes into great detail about the event in his book, who claimed to have seen quite a bit of Paul in the following weeks of the breakup.
"Jane's departure shattered him. It was the only time I saw Paul completely distraught and lost for words."
"Jane wasn't just my woman, she was my closest friend", he apparently told Alistair.
I think losing Jane brought up some of the trauma from when he lost his mother abruptly. She reminds me of Mary, too.

The cyclone wiped out several resorts including Club Med Lindeman Is which broke my heart. South Molle Is and Club Croc Long Is were also destroyed but I believe the Chinese billionaires have come in and are rebuilding.

Lovely classy woman, a takes a lot to be a television actress. Came from a good middle-class English family inspired Paul’s early love songs. He wanted her to give up her lifelong career and she wasn’t into the hippie trip. And the groupies phase. Happily married now successful actress. Congrats for living through the eye of the storm,Jane!

He wanted a traditional wife and she didn't want to be a traditional wife. He explained she told him but he thought she'd " come around " to his thinking. She thought he had accepted the fact she wasn't willing to give up the life she achieved through the dedication and sacrifices she made to get there.

One of the greatest musical geniuses in 'recorded' history..... This was what made the Beatles so extraordinary, besides Paul, there were John and George, both geniuses too.

I rewatched it and noticed that photo too.
The one with "Costa" written on the wall in the background is Photoshopped. Didn't happen. The original photo with that background is of Jane and her husband.
Jane is really nice - but "Lovely Linda" was an exceptional woman, photographer, wife, mother, band member, author, chef, entrepreneur, business woman, travelling companion and best friend.

This is Jane Asher. Before this his first girlfriend was Dot Rhone he met in the Casbah Coffee Club in Liverpool where he was playing there as a member of the Quarrymen. Paul wrote many song about Jane. 'All My Loving', 'And I Love Her', and 'Every Little Thing'. He also wrote "You Won't See Me" about their breakup.

Beautiful Jane Asher. For me, who lived the sixties and the beatlemania as the more happy days of my life, the image of a girl on Paul's side will always be Jane Asher. When Linda arrived the Beatles I loved were gone. Paul wrote many songs about Jane Asher. This is one of them. " For no one " is another.
I had hoped they would end up together for the rest of their lives. Am now 73 and still treasure them
