All those survival cosplayers seem to be willing to tape anything to their sheaths except a piece of sandpaper.

Eafengrow have apparently cleaned up their act and advertising the correct steel in recent times.

    Hi, nice test 😊
Beside knife, I am quite like the rock hounding as a hobby.
I know that NZ is famous for it Green Stone which is a nephrite jade.
Some people in my county Indonesia do use nephrite jade as finishing stone. Maybe you can find some NZ green stone and try it.
    Hope this helps

I have wanted to!!! I have not found any of the Greenstone out in the wild, so have been hesitant to call it a "survival option" - however, I have a necklace. Maybe I should give it a try!

@@homeslicesharpening nice !, maybe I will try it too. Still have some jade, serpentine, jasper and agate , etc in slab form. Never try it before tough,
For my carbon steel, natural sharpening stone is quite cheap here 😁.
As alternative media, as I live in a big city, people throw away their used terracotta, ceramic , marble tiles. So I just pick it up and used it.

Nice! I have gotten decent results from marble and terra cotta! Let me know if the Jade seems to do well. Cheers.

I could build you all the same models but in different steels

Dude that's insanely generous of you, and you make beautiful blades from super interesting steels, with good hardness levels! See my response to your other comment in the 4000 baton video.
      Cheers.

I always attach something to sharpen my large knives to the sheath. It’s why I don’t give much mind to the “sharpen it on a river rock” line of thought, why not pack a sharpener also rather than deal with Rock shaped bullshit?

Haha - fair enough. I usually just take a small piece of sharpening gear in my bag. I don't find it weighs or inconveniences too too much. I just figured if there are gonna be people subscribing to this theory, we should test it at face-value, as it's not a hard theory to test!
      Take care.

@@homeslicesharpening Regardless, thanks for putting the myth to test! It’s cool to see actual testing of these things.
