"Wish I was there" doesn't really cover my feelings right now. OMG its time to find a flight and get over there and enjoy Pai for at least a week or two. Really, two days doesn't cover it. Extend if you can. Enjoy the scenery, the strawberries, the food, the atmosphere, the night market, waterfalls, elephants the Great White Buddha, walking trails and more. And when you move on to Mae Hong Son: there is a warm water spring about 8 miles from Pai on route 1095. Great if you have a backache. If you don't: fake one. It's worth it.
This Mae Hong Son loop is incredible.

When I saw your a motorbike trip, so worried cause of the statistics of the highest road accidents in Thailand occur with motorcycles.
Therefore, I would like to suggest 3 high cautions when using a motorcycle in Thailand, which are ...
1. Be careful from the rear all the time.
2. Be careful with the presence of animals or cars suddenly cutting in front.
3. Keep left lane ; Traffic in Thailand where cars drive on the left which in the normal use of motorcycles Thai law prohibits motorcycles from running in the right lane. Except in an emergency situation, therefore, you should keep driving in the left lane as much as possible.
Have fun, be safe and have a good trip throughout the trip.

Whoo hoo so fun. Great call on the Aerox. The larger tires better brakes and suspension really help, and the larger engine will get you up the hills with ease. Nice helmets, and Tia helmet hair looks good on you LOL. I tend to agree with others no need to rush if you enjoy a place just hang out an extra day or two. It's not about the miles, it's about the smiles. Have fun be safe and say hi to Jeff.

You are right though about slowing down a bit. We ended up staying 5 days in Pai and it was really nice to take a couple of slow, easy days to ourselves 🙂
Oh Pai is so special, there is some magic in the air. My now husband proposed in Pai (many years ago now haha). I hope you didn't get too cold in the bungalow, those early mornings can be crisp!

Pai has many styles of accommodation. But if I go to Pai I would like to stay at Pai treehouse resort as a cheap accommodation. Starting at 700 baht And the 700 baht room is a room on the tree. This room will have 3 floors. Is the second floor will be the bathroom. And the 3rd floor is a bedroom with a view of almost 360°, fully furnished. TV, small refrigerator, Wi-Fi I think it should be a dream of many people when they were young. wanting to have a house on a tree😁😁🙏🙏

@@OnePackWanderers All booking have this resort. If you booking within one day this resort will be full. You have to make a reservation about 5-7 days in advance. Because this room and this resort is very famous among Thai people because it is cheap, worth more than the price, beautiful, strange, it is very popular.
The first time I was in Pai was via bicycle trip with a friend 20 years younger (I was 50 he was 30), that was 20 years ago. We did the loop in 7 days. At that time, the room rent on the main street was about $15 or about 500 baht for 2 persons in one double bed room. From Chiangmai bus terminal to Pai it was about 120 km more or less. We arrived at Pai about 8 pm. The walking street at the time was not that crowded unlike 5 years later when I did the loop again alone. The Pai Walking Street was jam packed 15 years ago. Yet the way to Pai, there was hardly any cafe or restaurant, not even a single 7-11 in those days. Mom and pop shops saved the day (several days in fact).
When you arrived that night at 8pm you must have felt like you were on top of the world! What an accomplishment to do that on a bicycle. Almost entirely uphill from Chiang Mai to Pai.
Your stories are really making us want to do something like that to test ourselves. Thank you for always leaving insightful comments.
Be careful about your riding, Thailand's road is one of the most dangerous roads on earth. The people here think that the bigger car has a higher priority. Don't only trust the traffic signs but double check everything with your eyes.
Being aware and attentive are definitely the biggest things to do in Thailand. You're right that the signs don't mean much.
That being said, we've noticed that Thai drivers are far more courteous than where we're from, so that helps a lot 🙂
great video! I was just in Pai a few days ago and coincidentally stayed at the same hotel as you guys! If you guys are looking for a place to stay in Mae Hong Son I recommend Green Mountain Resort, pretty cheap, very nice and in a beautiful meadow!

Glad your back is better. Recommend Skechers archfit running shoes (great arch support) with Odor Eaters for added cushion. The mattresses you sleep on are important too. Too soft is no good.
Great point on the mattresses. By pure luck, or last several hotels have had pretty hard mattresses and it has helped a lot 🙂

Pai is one of my most favourite places in Thailand i can't wait to do that drive. We're hiring a car as I'm not a bike rider but it still should be fun. The street market is fab in Pai the food was great when i was last there. Great movie guys 👍
I think the ride would be much more relaxed in a car, but you still get to enjoy all the beautiful sights! 🙂 You're right the food here is really good.
Good choice of renting the Yamaha Aerox 155. Superd handling and good power too.
We were surprised how big of a difference 30cc made! It's much more powerful than the Honda Clicks we have been riding 🙂

You're right. We had a lot of footage from the back of the bike and we were worried people would get bored. We have another video coming where we just said, screw it, and included a lot more 😂
Hi, you are traveling around Thailand. Amazing! Very few Thai people have this kind of experience. I have a small suggestion. Since you travel and use motorcycles a lot before going to bed use Neotica or Counterpain (they are relaxing massage creams). Softly massage your body with them. It will release your body's stress.

Love all your delightful videos. Both of you are so sweet. I am a Thai and cycled to Pai and Mae Hong Son before to know how risky the traffic is. Please be super careful, many motorcyclists and pick-up truck drivers are really reckless.
The pickup truck drivers are really something 😂 They drive so fast, their tires screech on every corner! Cycling the route must've been a really cool adventure! How long did it take you?
8 hrs each, including frequent stops for catching breath and food/drinks from Chiangmai to Pai, Pai to Mae Hon Son.

I've seen people move furniture on a motorbike in SE Asia. You could've brought your backpacks...lol
Oh we definitely could have brought them. We’ve seen whole families and their pets pile on one bike.
For us we decided to pack light to keep the weight down and also so Tia didn’t have to have a pack strapped to her for hours at a time. With the back issues she’s been experiencing it definitely wasn’t worth it in our case.
