Chiang Mai is awesome.. i purposely arrange my travel dates around the weekend since Saturday and Sunday is the biggest market nights.. it was awesome... size of probably like 5 football fields.. and spent both nights about 4 hours each just walking and eating and enjoying the smells, sights and sounds! eat, walk it off and eat some more.. repeat for 4 hours! love it! miss it! enjoy

The red dessert is called in Thai "kanom chan" or layered dessert. You can see several layers on the side. When I was young, I liked to peel each layer off and ate layer by layer. It was fun that way. It is chewy and a little sweet.

If you find some miang kham, definitely try it. It is originally from the north of Thailand and should be easy to find in Chiang Mai. If you get the ones that are wrapped already, they are small bundels on a skewer. A slightly bitter leaf on the outside. And when you bite into it... It such a flavour bomb!... My mouth starts watering already.
If you get it at a restaurant or buy a package with all ingredients then you can assemble it yourself and find your own perfect version. Fun to eat with each other and with friends :)
