To anyone who wants to know - those slats are cut in there now from the shop. I just got mine in the mail today and they are already there which I totally celebrated about. Not sure if they saw this and decided to start doing it or if yours just didn't have them but definitely worth mentioning. Maybe thumb this up so new buyers can see it.
If you have a 2015 or above, I have a 2017 Nismo so be aware...AAM Competition 2.5 Resonated Test Tubes for 2017 Nissan 370Z Nismo - Failure of technology and customer service. I have a 2017 370Z Nismo with installed AAM Competition 2.5 Resonated Test Tubes (AAM37E-ResTest) at a high-end performance shop. Drove it for under 480 miles, got a "Service Engine Soon" light. Took it to Nissan and told them of my aftermarket tubes, so they performed a full diagnostic as it is still only at 12,000 miles and under full warranty - a Code P0430 - which is Catalytic Converter Bank 2. (Nissan charged me $75.00) They cleared the code and it happened again within a couple hundred miles. They highly suggested I go back to the OEM Cats. I contacted AAM (Director of Sales and Marketing) and at first, he was helpful, said that this only happens "Once in a while" as they have J bung system to move the o2 sensors further away. When I told him, it happened again after a couple hundred miles, he suggested I look into o2 extenders and that might help. WTF, I spent $970 USD (converted from Canadian $) and they don't really care about providing me with extenders or if the solution will work. Removing them. AAM has poor tech and customer support IMO. You can contact me via Facebook, I have all of the details if you wish.
One possibility I might suggest would be to wrap the outside of the exhaust pipe with enough aluminum foil to take up the space between the pipe and the tip.
AAM shorttails with test pipes have considerable power gains from these cars id reccomend a Y pipe as well and some headers from Z1 and an intake with tune from AdminTuning. Easily running 330-340 wheel
Subbed! I also have a 370z and my first install were the AAM Short Tails. The hardest part was getting the pipes level and even. Nicely done. Looking forward to your future mod videos!
I actually reverted to the stock from the AAM on my Nismo. I did not have to remove the brackets and I used silicone spray on the rubber instead of wd40
Bros FOURR Speed. just installed my short tail exhaust. It sounds awesome! Thanks for the vid installed it just like you did in the video worked perfect!
Hey man. Great video. Quick question. AAM sends out a bolt kit for the gasket area. How did you remove the bolt/ or can you/ from the nuts you had to take off? Mine are warped on there and p-blast or nut remover did not help. How do we get the bolt itself out?
why does AAM say Please Note: To fit the S-LINE Short Tail Exhaust properly, the emissions canister shield will need to be removed. question did you remove it ?
Has anyone noticed noticed rattling from the exhaust after installing it? Mine tends to rattle a little when I get into the 3-4k RPM's. I'm thinking it could be that the tips are too close to the bumper? Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!
I was thinking of getting the invidia Gemini for a long time but I've also been considering an axelback, do u think it's worth saving the extra like 300-400 bucks and getting an axelback for my z?
I cant image AAM didn't figure about the Clamping problem... I wondering who approved this product line ? Did you get any response or excuses from AAM? (yes, I know they corrected it afterwords, but geeze) Did you have any other exhaust mods and how much hwy droning did you notice?
I ordered and paid for my AAM Short tails over a month ago!! Can’t believe how horrible their customer service and shipping is! I will Never buy another thing from them!!!
It’s a shame they have such bad customer service, because in my opinion they make one of the best exhaust for the 370z and the only place to get them is from their website.
have you tinted your windows yet? I couldn't tell. if you haven't and are planning to what % on all 4? I was planning on doing between 20-35% on all 4 haven't decided how dark I want it yet.
hey thanks for responding; I also own a 370. this the first time Im considering modifying a car. I have a cheaper alternative to the short -tails which is sending it to a shop that will pretty much cut out the mufflers and wield straight pipes into them. this would cost 150$ instead of 400$ for the shortails. any recommendations?

I was about to not buy them, until I saw your comment. I didn't wanted to cut like he did. Thanks.
Hey how long did it took you to receive them I got the 2 day shipping thanks
I watched the whole video for a sound clip and you don't even rev it??????
Exactly why he gets a thumbs down. He probably stopped the video and revved it up and it sounded like a lawn mower so he cut that part out.
@@IanRLewis phaha
btw this is one of the best exhaust install vids I've seen for the 370z!
Thanks!
Great man. I don't know why you only have 12k subs. It's only a matter of time till your channel blows up
Thanks. we have grown a lot in the past year. Had about 1k this time last year, so we are getting there.

I wish AAM did the resonated tails for the G37X! I really like their sound!
They make things for the normal G37. Could always contact them and see
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I did but they only have the full catback and I’m not really wanting to spend the dough for it. I’ve got other responsibilities.
Great videos! Thanks for showing this install. I just ordered my resonated short tails last week. Can’t wait to install them!
receiving mine in today....intstalling later 😎
One possibility I might suggest would be to wrap the outside of the exhaust pipe with enough aluminum foil to take up the space between the pipe and the tip.
Go for test pipes or high flow cats next.
I'm thinking something like that. Probably a midpipe next so I have true dual. And then hight flow cats to keep it legal.
I like that mid pipe idea!

You don't need the spray. Just makes it easier.
Lol how to tighten the tips.. weld them

No revs. Nice. Lol.
I couldn’t unbolt the muffler the bolts were tight on there. Now I have to wait till Saturday to go to a shop 😣
dang... Try some liquid penitent oil? Seems to work well on stubborn bolts
Dude, i did the same thing... except i went to a muffler shop in the hood. And they just welded something in. The sound is 100x better than stock.
Your installs are awesome 👌🏻

I just used the stock nuts and bolts. I have the bolts the kit came with, but I didn't use them
Do you know where I can buy some of those triangle hanger spacers?
Cheers
Awesome channel!
Thanks might pick these up
awsome channel mate, just subscribed !
Rhymes The Key Thanks for the support!
Use a pair of channel locks to get the rubber hangers off, takes 2 seconds and its a 10$ tool.

Do youhappen to know if the gaskets are the sane as the stock ones? Sorry for the noob question as im planning on buying a used one soon

You didnt have to remove the charcoal canister did you? Did you just remove the shield for it? and also did you CEL come on?
Weld the tips.
Any loss of low end torque with this?
I was thinking of getting the invidia Gemini for a long time but I've also been considering an axelback, do u think it's worth saving the extra like 300-400 bucks and getting an axelback for my z?
Provides no power gains, merely changes the note. Power doesn't change till you change the mid-pipe.

I'm not sure if aam has any. But you could probably find some, somewhere
Will these fit an hr 350z?
Is this pretty much the same a straight piping?
No quite since it still has the factory cats and Y pipe
