Brooks were bought out by Selle Royal some time ago....but the saddles are still made in Birmingham
The B17 Imperial is the best with the cut-out to relive perineal pressure and Brooks came out with it in 1890 but I wished it had the wide hand tapped copper rivets. Gel saddles are garbage after a year or two. I rode it down the west coast and some day I'll ride it to Boston too see you Bikeman.

It boggles my mind how these are said to be some of the best bike seats around. I'm too scared to actually try one because of how hard they seem to be initially but I guess there's a reason they're so popular.
Depends on what you ride Guitarfool. Most riders who ride strenuously, ie. BMX, MTB, Triathlon, Road etc...find that a firm to even hard saddle best suites them. The leather of a Brooks will literally mold itself to fit YOU and YOUR BUTT. As Bikeman says, it is a personal thing, the saddle goes with the rider. The leather gives just enough so it does not feel like you are sitting on a rock yet it is firm and supports you. It is slippery enough it doesn't chafe and it can breathe.

Yeah they're classy but so hard! Can one make them softer somehow? I mean Im only 50 kg and its like sitting on a plank. Can the spiral springs somehow get adjusted for not so heavy people?
