When I started I was afraid of everything and now all of the things are so natural and big fun! I'd recommend trying literally for everyone, even if you are very shy. For me, it was an awesome way to get out of my shell.
No it’s stupid. What do you think the chances are that his hand slips? 1 in 100? 1 in 1000? He’s human right? Around 250 drinks per shift means that he’s going to slip twice per shift or once every 4 shifts. How much tips are you going to give when you have a sweet sticky cocktail all over your shirt?
Don't. Bartending school will get you blacklisted from gigs. Why? No business owners want you pre educated. They want to train you "their way", even though most bars are set up the same friggin way. Chains like Applebees won't hire bartenders off the street either. They'll expect you to suffer through the hostessing or serving and "promote you" to bartending....a completely different job.
Sam Crawford Thats JUST wrong Informazions here dude! Some Hotels or Bars ask for a License from an Bartender School. I would take the pre educated instead of the one who doesnt even know how to tap a beer ! The obly true thing is that they wanna teach u their own way but if ure just good at your job they will never di this to you :D

The first bar I worked in I was taught to keep a saucer of gin nearby, if anyone ordered a gin the rim of the glass would be dipped/rubbed onto the saucer so that the gin taste was there, then top it with tonic & a slice. If people where already half cut, they never noticed not in 23 years.
you would be in deep shit with trading standards though in the smallest chance they found out haha i mean, its pretty easy to just refuse a drunk customer if they look like they had too much 🤷♀🤷♀
When the only bars you work at 1) don’t do cocktails/have freepour bottles 2) is a nightclub so you have to be fast and no one takes notes on what you do they just want a drink asap :-((
But sure if you are not too busy quick trick with napkin would work even at the nightclub ☺️ And of course if you are too busy it’s just better to serve drinks as fast as you can 😉

ebs has a lot of locations alla around the world, including places like the us, thailand, south africa, and of course, europe. i personally completed my ebs course in bad gastein, austria. best winter of my life.
I don't drink, I have never seen a bar, I don't want to be a bartender, I am not interested in the tricks and will not even try them but I still watched this whole video because.... It's cool 😁😁
You want to learn to be a decent barman? First three rules: 1) Know the licencing law 2) Know the drinks, starting basic 3) Know your cellar and how to change a barrel properly And in that order.
I like that in the UK and don’t have to tip bartenders. The drink alone is costing me £12.00 for two shots of alcohol. When I’m the states it’s way more fun and tipping actually gets you something

For the "man I just want a fast cheap drink" 1. U can go to alberstons and buy ur own drinks, pour them yourselves(2 the napkin trick is literally 2 seconds(3. If you mixed 6 shots up and poured them like this, that is really fast as well and 4. How much longer does it take to literally toss the bottle once behind the back and pour? If you go anywhere like a party/Bar please text your friends and let them know your a hater/grouch and see if they still want you to go out.

Keep in mind, once you finish 4 weeks international course you might want to do extra courses like 2 Days Mixology , 2 Days Flair etc So it will give you an opportunity to travel and check out other schools too. Wooooow EBS in America. EBS used to hand out applications to my last place of work to their customers (sorry, it’s what they are), I was a manager who used to hire them. The first thing I told *every single* ex-EBS bartender: “did you like EBS? Fun? Awesome! Now forget everything they taught you.”
Joe Mofo Hey Joe, just to clarify, what I showed here is not part of 4 weeks International course. Some of those tricks featured only in the “2 Days Working Flair course” But honestly it makes no sense why would you tell to EBS students graduates “forget what they taught you there” since EBS education has absolutely everything what bartenders need to work behind the bar. And in fact EBS London is one of the top schools when it comes to education. Hope you can reconsider it in the future 😉
Vlad SlickBartender it does make sense, though. People don’t want to pay someone to teach them how to, for example, barback or floortend properly, but they are essential parts of a well-rounded bartender. EBS teaches enough barbacking so that guys like you can tell guys like me that you do teach barbacking, but - in my personal experience - never enough that retraining wasn’t required. Again, if I paid someone £5k and knew nothing about bartending and they tried spending a couple days teaching me how to barback I’d be pissed. But it’s business: you have a product to sell and throwing bottles around is a sexier product than cleaning glasses, I get it. But you can’t turn around and say that it makes no sense for me to tell your “students” of 4-weeks that they need to forget what they learned. They learned what EBS deemed important enough to include in a crash course that yields the highest possible positive reviews to justify the course fees. It’s a brilliant business plan that’s obviously worked very well, so fair play Tom. All that aside, I’m not meaning to sound too hateful, people who went to ebs always stood out from the rest but that’s usually because ebs was just a step in their development of bartending, “career bartenders” you could say. A career bartender will always stand out against average pint-pullers no matter who taught them to free-pour. In any case I’m actually surprised you responded, and so quickly! People always respond to the comments I least expect responses to so fair play. Have a good day.

Wooooow EBS in America. EBS used to hand out applications to my last place of work to their customers (sorry, it’s what they are), I was a manager who used to hire them. The first thing I told *every single* ex-EBS bartender: “did you like EBS? Fun? Awesome! Now forget everything they taught you.”
I’ll also mention this is in London
Joe Mofo Hey Joe, just to clarify, what I showed here is not part of 4 weeks International course. Some of those tricks featured only in the “2 Days Working Flair course”
But honestly it makes no sense why would you tell to EBS students graduates “forget what they taught you there” since EBS education has absolutely everything what bartenders need to work behind the bar. And in fact EBS London is one of the top schools when it comes to education.
Hope you can reconsider it in the future 😉
Vlad SlickBartender it does make sense, though. People don’t want to pay someone to teach them how to, for example, barback or floortend properly, but they are essential parts of a well-rounded bartender. EBS teaches enough barbacking so that guys like you can tell guys like me that you do teach barbacking, but - in my personal experience - never enough that retraining wasn’t required.
Again, if I paid someone £5k and knew nothing about bartending and they tried spending a couple days teaching me how to barback I’d be pissed. But it’s business: you have a product to sell and throwing bottles around is a sexier product than cleaning glasses, I get it. But you can’t turn around and say that it makes no sense for me to tell your “students” of 4-weeks that they need to forget what they learned.
They learned what EBS deemed important enough to include in a crash course that yields the highest possible positive reviews to justify the course fees. It’s a brilliant business plan that’s obviously worked very well, so fair play Tom.
All that aside, I’m not meaning to sound too hateful, people who went to ebs always stood out from the rest but that’s usually because ebs was just a step in their development of bartending, “career bartenders” you could say. A career bartender will always stand out against average pint-pullers no matter who taught them to free-pour.
