  • In this video, Ryan shows us his method of getting your dog calm before going for a walk. A calm dog within the house will transfer seamlessly onto the walk so your dog is in a relaxed headspace all of the time.

This is the best video I have seen in the 1.5 yrs. I have had my Lab. The detail really drove in to me what I need to do at each step to get my dog ready for a walk and to make the walk successful. Too many training videos leave out the middle part on how to train your dog. Thank you so much.

Most dogs end up in shelters, because the owners don't train their dogs.. The shelter dogs I had, were so easy to train, and a blessing.
This is a very good video

This is actually a good video. I've had this problem with my super active dog since no one walks him except me, and I'm only home during holidays (since I'm still in uni). He gets REALLY energetic the moment he hears the slightest from his leash.

Where’s the follow up video on learning the patience you possess?

I have this problem. But just alot worse. My dog barks and screams non stop like he is being hurt although no one is touching him and runs from room to room and knocks everything over in my flat. Jumping, running, barking, screaming and pushing. Just being extremely wild. Im also concerned because my other dog is also now starting to learn the screaming thing from him. Its chaos. However ive tried this method (as every trainer and behaviourist suggests this technique) and it just doesnt work with my bigger dog. For e.g. I started at 9am and took the entire day trying this method. We only got to walk around 6pm and not cause his excitement stopped but because i eventually gave in as i saw this wasnt working (it wasnt that i wasnt being patient with the process, i was basically doing this the entire day) and i felt it wasnt fair towards my other dog thats been waiting the entire day for this walk and she was looking sad. I tried this for several days in a row. Same result. He does not calm down. Or as soon as he does it starts up immediately as soon as i move a inch. So if this method doesnt work, what else can one try? Also treats and things doesnt work to get him to do things you want, he is just hyper focused on what hé wants to do.

My dog is a year and terrified of the leash.. pretty sure they did something mean to her.. how can I help her. She drops to the ground the second the leash goes on.

Some techniques are good. However, poor doggie got confused and frustrated.

NOT A GOOD VIDEO - Aversive techniques like constant pokes and use of the word no are terrible training techniques backed by science. Aversive training and all this alpha dog, and pack stuff is so old school. Use aversive techniques if you want your dog to hate you, become even more stressed out and develop more problems. Aversive techniques don't tell the dog what to do so the poor thing keeps getting punished over and over "until he gets it". Not that is stupid. Look up positive reinforcement or reward-based learning.
