The Russian invasion of Ukraine has made Poland one of the key players in the crisis. It is the country that is leading, along with the United States and the United Kingdom, in supporting Ukraine, delivering military weaponry and hosting hundreds and hundreds of thousands, millions of refugees. The Russian invasion of Ukraine ordered by Vladimir Putin's government has opened Pandora's box. Now most Central and Eastern European countries are studying plans to improve their defense. But of all these, Poland clearly stands out.
Warsaw wants to take advantage of this crisis not only to deal a heavy blow to Putin's Russia but also to consolidate its role as a major power in the East. In this video we tell you all the details.

I have great respect to the ROMANIA and to the Romanian people.
*Of what is Poland doing to Ukraine these days ..... Romania did the same to the Polish War Refugees, at the outbreak of the World War the Second, when Germany together with Slovakia and Soviet Union .... they attacked POLAND almost at once in September of 1939.*
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Romania that time, Monsieur Armand Calinescu was a a great supporter to help Poles in Romania, but also he was personally involved in evacuation of the 80 tons of the Polish National Treasury Gold, from the Polish border .... pushing it in the period of 24 hours through the whole Romania to the port of Constanza.
Romanians, they did it so sucessfuly, even if they were tracked by the German spies and Romanian Government of Armand Calinescu, were receiving the official consular threats of the open war, from the German Embassy in Bucharest !!!
For that sympathy to Poland, Monsieur Armand Calinescu was killed at the end of the September of 1939, during the attack on his car, during the drive to work in his office. They were Romanian fascist group paid directly from Berlin !!!!

Respect to friends in Poland.

      @LMB222 Рік тому

Slowly with the admiration. Many great mistakes were made in the interbellum because Poland 1918 had the level of arrogance almost of the US today.
Don't forget that the Polish Soviet war was won by a very narrow margin, probably due to Poles having cracked Russian communication lines and French support, but nevertheless, it could have been lost. After all, Soviets came up all the way to Warsaw.

    • @WM78
      @WM78 Рік тому +3

      @@LMB222
      1.
''Many great mistakes were made in the interbellum because Poland 1918 had the level of arrogance almost of the US today''
This opinion does not bring up any arguments to support its correctness. Very weak.
      2.
''Don't forget that the Polish Soviet war was won by a very narrow margin''
Poorly thought-out logic and therefore invalid argument.
The mention of a "very narrow margin" is not in contradiction with the idea of supporting Poland and Ukraine.
On contrary, since Poland barely won the Battle of Warsaw, it means that offering support is justified and makes sense.
Besides, eventually, Poland won and the Soviets lost.
      3.
''probably due to Poles having cracked Russian communication lines and French support''
      a)
the use of the word "probably" is weak by definition. If the author is not sure about historical facts, why use them? Information needs to be checked before it is used to argue with someone else's comment.
      b)
The fact that Polish intelligence was able to read coded telegrams from the Russian army testifies to the advantage, not against, of the Polish Army and the idea of supporting it.
      c) if Franch support helped then it is an argument supporting the idea of helping Poland and Ukraine, as it is effective.
Again, very poor use of logic. Invalid argument.
      4.
''but nevertheless, it could have been lost.''
      It was not, Poland won.
      Hands are falling, no comments
      5.
''After all, Soviets came up all the way to Warsaw.''
It only supports an idea of helping, as there is ''a very narrow margin''
      Conclusion:
Critical thinking and the use of logic are something that @LMB222 is not good at.

I have lived and worked in Poland several times. The Poles are some of the finest people I have known. A proud people, however a sad and tragic history has made them wise. I think of an old joke one of my Polish friends told me that goes something like this. The first Poles were praying to God, thanking him for such a beautiful country full of lakes and fertile farmland. They then asked “Why did you make such a beautiful place just for us? Isn’t that unfair?” And God replied “Wait until you meet your neighbours.” It is truly a beautiful place, and with very few natural obstacles to invaders it had seen more than it’s fair share of nasty neighbours over the centuries. I can fully understand their rationalization of strengthening their Armed Forces.

As a Polish person, all I can say that we are tied of wars. Our history lessons is either war after the war or the uprising after uprising.
So many clever people had to leave their motherland to save themselves.
Wars stall development and Eastern Europe is a prime example of that.
I sincerely hope that having a strong, modern army will secure us peace.
I also would like to add that helping Ukrainian refugees is a joint effort- ordinary people from both Eastern and Western Europe opened their hearts to those poor people. There is a lot of humanitarian aid coming from Western Europe, all we can say is thank you for helping us in helping our Ukrainian neighbours 🙏

From the US, I'd say Poland always was an incredibly important power in the region. When Poland United with Lithuania, it was a titan in eastern Europe. That only eroded because it was sandwiched between two other powers that kept taking chunks out of Poland. Now with Poland no longer being suppressed, the nation is rising again as one of the most important nations in Europe. Poland and her people saw the danger Russia posed and never forgot the harsh lessons from its past to never trust Russia.

The Polish state once spanned an area of Europe from the Baltic to the Black Sea. It encompassed most of the Baltic States including what is now Belarus and Ukraine. Krakow was the capital it stood at the end
of the ancient silk road to China and traded Amber for Silk etc. Poland introduced the Parliamentary system on the continent if Europe not long after this type of Govt. was introduced in Britain. The Polish system failed due to the Leberum Veto, the ability of a dissenter to block legislation, in the way we se Russia today block UN resolutions on the Security Council.

We were the 1.st state which raised weapons against German nacists in 1938, pitty we were forced to surrender. This is same situation, which Ukraine is standing right now against. Ukraine has to listen to twisted opinions of some politics ( for example Henry Kissinger), whom advice Ukraine to surrender or give up its territory, which was taken by Donbas separatists and RUssia (Crimea) in 2014. What a nonsense.
I dont like much general saying, that some nations are brothers, because we were told before 1989, that all eastern countries (slavic nations) in Warsaw pact are brothers, but now I have for the first time the feeling, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Romania , Slovakia are true brothers.....and same feelings I have for common folks from western countries, Germany, France, England, Italy, Spain etc. I am glad, that Sweden and Finland are entering NATO.
And if I see all these great countries, it is keeping me in opinion, that we are right, that we stand on the right and good side. It is not possible, that all these countries could be wrong....

As a Pole, I will say that the Warsaw Pact was pure evil. It was created in response to the nascent NATO. However, the government in Warsaw were not Polish. Many people in Europe and around the world may have the impression that Poles ruled ... but ... it was a deliberate attempt to make everyone in the world convinced that it was Poles who prepared such a fate for Poles. It is true that it was Jews of Russian origin and Russians who created a puppet government in Warsaw, and when they entered Poland, they changed their names to typically Polish ones ending in -ski. An example is Stolzman, the greatest murderer of Poles, he changed his name to ending -ski ... The truth is that the USSR played a leading role. It is also true that communism kills like any criminal ideology. From the beginning, it has already claimed 200 million victims worldwide. I

Shortly after Poland regained its independence in 1920, they fought a war with Russia and won. The Russians were a bit unhappy about that. Also, the Poles kept a close watch on the early (commercial) versions of Enigma, and studied the developing military versions. After the German-Soviet occupation of Poland in 1939, the results of that work were given to the UK, and were absolutely essential in the work of the code-breakers at Bletchley Park. This was a HUGE defeat for Germany. The world owes them a debt for that.

But we, hungarians, had also our fair "share" of misfortune dealing with Russia -> 1849, 1914-1918, 1941-1945, 1956 and the "friendly" occupation for more than 40 years. Distance from Warsaw to eastern border of Europe ( Ural mountains... if you have problems with education) is the same like distance from Warsaw to the Atlantic shore in Portugal. Poland is still recovering from 200 years of fighting for its freedom... But Poland becoming a powerhouse is pretty inevitable and it comes with its location.
Strong Poland means security for Baltic states, especially Lithuania cause of the shared border. It also brings security to Germany, Czechia or Slovakia cause its a buffer state from Belarus/Russia. So all these states will support Poland in getting stronger. NATO also requires Poland to be strong for these reasons.
Poland's location is also crucial for any logistics in Europe in a very similar way that Germany is. Both are centrally located and with that comes lots of traffic. Importance of logistics we can see now during war in Ukraine. Without Poland, Ukraine would already have fallen as delivery of any weaponry would be extremely difficult. Similarly Germany would be crucial for any arms delivery to Poland in case of conflict.
Without Poland war against Russia would not be possible for the west and without Poland Russia can't even dream of conquering Europe. So you either have to have Poland on your side or conquer it to control the lands of Polans (Polans- 'People of the open fields'- tribe that founded Poland which is a land of open fields). Few countries tried that in the past and Poland is still here cause as Polish anthem says 'Poland is not yet dead, as long as we are alive'.

So proud of all the nations and their people who have stepped up and are fighting Russia, or supporting the cause.

See where i am going here? if people aren't a menace, there are no grudges eventually and everyone gets along, grows and prospers. Grudges/history doesn't die with the death of the person. As a pole, born and raised I think that Poland can be a regional player, as long as our own pride and historical claims don't win. If we stay humble and devoted to democratic ideas, I don't see any power in the world that would win with us. Of course as long as we stay both in NATO and EU. These two organisations are vital for polish survival and prosperity. For those who are routing for split between east and west Europe: this is what Russia wants. Divided Europe to rule and conquer. Gerries and Frogs have their flaws and we know them (oh boy, we know their entire playbook, because we are dealing with them longer than US and Muscovy Russia exists), but we poles, after 10 ages of existance, still choose to roll with them instead with Moskals. We know damn well, that the more enemies we have, the sooner war will brake in our lands. Last time we had both Germany and Russia as enemies it cost us 6 years of war, destruction and genocide. Poland lost 6 mln people (from 33 mln to 27 mln). It also ended up with communism experiment for 45 years that no pole wanted. So yes, polish as regional player, but in the same team as Ukraine, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, UK and other european nations. With the war in Ukraine, I often think about polish 2nd Republic (1918-1939), which only lasted one generation. It has it's problems, a soft authoritarian military goverment, but it gave us one generation of free poles. Now 3rd Polish state (since 1989) is 33 years old. I don't think it would last that long, if it weren't farsightness of our leaders, back in the 90s to push us through painfull reforms and literally beg our way into NATO and EU, we would be today in the same place. Western states were mostly against taking Poland in. They've looked every possible way to shut us down. You know who rooted for us back then? Germany. That's why it is so important that: 1. We keep strong and amicable relations with Germans. Not as suck ups, but as reliable allies, who will tell them truth, but still being friendly. 2. Return the favour and sponsor Ukraine and others in need (Georgia, Belarus and Moldova), opening doors into EU and NATO for them.

Poland is sort of coming home and turning the wheels of history back in the right direction. In times of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth the ancestors of today's Poles, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians, allied in a regional power, successfully fought off Muscovites, Teuton Knights and Ottomans. Today's independence day in Russia (Unity Day) actually commemorates the liberation of Moscow from Poles. Napoleon's army or Nazi Germany didn't make it to Moscow.
Internal conflicts and outdated social and legal systems eventually lead to the country's collapse and partition between three neighbouring powers. Poland has disappeared from the maps for 123 years. Since then, the region has seen the most horrific wars, terror, genocides and exploitation in the world, including WW1, WW2 and then the communism. And as if it wasn't enough, our good old friends from Russia are now trying yet again to subdue our free and peaceful nations by invading Ukraine.
Enough is enough. We are sick and tired of being a victim. It's about time to unite again in a Commonwealth of Six Nations / Intermarium and restore the safety and prosperity in our region and in Europe. The brave Ukrainians are giving us the example and inspiration, of how to deal with Russian invaders and PL, LT, LV and EE are working hard to support them.
It's your turn, Belarus. You are our brothers and you don't belong to those eastern barbarian hordes. We wait for you with our arms open. It's time to come back home!

Jestem Polakiem. My nigdy nie mieliśmy dylematów czym jest ruski mir i jakie wartości on przynosi. Atakując Polskę w tej chwili Rosja popełniła by geopolityczne i militarne samobójstwo. Nie tylko Rosja ma broń taktyczną. NATO też ją posiada i to w dużo lepszym stanie. Przy takim układzie Rosja mając problemy na Ukrainie nie ma szans na sukcesy militarne w Polsce.
