Вставка
- Опубліковано 11 жов 2024
- At the time of filming Tiger held all 4 of golf's Major Championships, earlier in the month completing the Tiger Slam with his second Masters win. Tiger Woods and Butch Harmon full driving range presentation from Tiger Jam IV.
Tiger and Butch playfully discuss Tigers game and shot techniques in front of a group of around 100 guests and celebrities, including Kevin Sorbo and Kid Rock. Tiger also hits some trick-shots with his wedge and driver. Filmed on April 28th 2001, in Henderson Nevada, at Dragon Ridge Country Club.
After reaching 1000 subscribers, I’ll release the 2000 range session, which is even better IMO. Thanks to those who tap that button.

The only person in history to be able to be introduced as the reigning Masters, Open, US Open and PGA Champion! Legendary status!!
A dumb Ysnk?.
@@ScratchyBaws oi you wut mayt?
Apart from Bobby Jones of course, who did it all in the same year. He was busy creating the Masters at the time, so didn't have that opportunity. 😜🏌🏆🏆🏆🏆 (US open, British Open, PGA, US Amateur Open)
@@Coverlythe last thing I do is want to take away from Bobby Jones' achievements, but you have to admit that one of those was way harder than the other
@@SirTylerGolf My point still stands. Tiger had a fitness/coaching team around him & a slept on a personal jet to St. Andrews, before bedding someone.
Bobby spent a week eating steak, getting drunk and bedding everyone on a ship, just to GET to The Open. To get back and win more in the US, while building Augusta, not easy at all..
Don't knock the old timers. I've played a course in the States, where Sam Snead set the CR in the 40's, using hickory shafts, crap balls and a hammer strapped to a stick for a putter. You would think that ONE decent club pro, with modern equipment, a GPS watch and carry distance data from the SIM could beat that score?
They haven't.😉
What a smooth swing. If this young man sticks with it, he has a real chance at going pro
😂 fantastic
I heard Liv Golf offered him 800 Million to play in their development league.

as long as the drug testing isn't around. Let's see what happens in July of 2008 when testing does start.
Imagine how comfortable he feels over the ball
That totally depends on the circumstances. There are shots and circumstances that make ALL pros nervous. Like a short iron in gusting/changing wind onto a hole like #17 at TPC.
Yeah you know when you have a good day and you feel like you can't hit a terrible shot and youre confident over every ball? I can imagine Tiger feeling that x1000 over every ball haha
In general he’s pretty comfortable over the ball. We get they’re still human
At this moment in time he was the best there is on the face of the earth greatest golfer that ever lived Just completed four consecutive major championship wins
how come it wasnt a slam dunk?
Some didn’t consider it a grand slam because all 4 wins weren’t in the same calendar year even tho they were consecutive. Just another way to divide sports fans.
@@annagraham6204 but he won all 4 back. To bsck at all 4 majors?
@@roidAholic yes but it wasn't all in the same year
@@SirTylerGolf so that must make it harder or less special lol. I'd surely take it.
effortless, him being able to hit a 9 iron 5 yards further each swing consistently is incredible
I'm not taking anything away from Tiger Woods. In 2001 the man was in a different stratosphere than the rest of the golfing world, but I'd be willing to bet money that every Top 50 PGA Tour player could do the same thing...on a range. That's what makes them all professionals and us not. lol Being only a couple of years older than Tiger it was such a privilege to watch his professional career from the very beginning until today. It's a shame what happened to him.
@@alb639 they can’t, I don’t think you’re realizing how fucking unbelievable that truly is. If they could do it they would do it. Every golfer in the world would greatly benefit from having that ability
@@alb639if you listen to what butch Harmon says he mention being able to hit several different shots with the same club gives Tiger a tremendous advantage
@@Echo-mz6tz I can hit more than several different shots with the same club, sometimes I hit my 9 iron 100 yards, sometimes 20 yards along the floor, sometimes right, sometimes left, goddamit even occasionally straight. I don't feel the need to brag about it though.
Yo! Shoutout to the young videographer who captured this incredible vintage footage of Tiger in his prime years back in 2001!! Got every shot down the line!👌He's the the Real MVP🔥

The best golf swing ever. Closest thing to perfection in golf humanity we’ll ever see
Rory McIlroy swing closest to perfection in terms of it looks sexy.
moe Norman in terms of consistency.
Kyle Berkshire in terms of power and compression
@@ibrahimrashid8092 I mean this as perfection in terms of skill. Nothing comes close and the stats prove it lol
@@ibrahimrashid8092 Eh Rory's swing is perfect for driver, but his iron play is nowhere near Tigers or Stensons, etc. Moe...was a mutant. Most people could not even make contact from how he set up and swung back. Kyle Berkshire is a pro long driver, a very strong athletic guy, who is just swinging as hard as he can with a near 100% weight shift, and accuracy not a consideration. You can watch his videos and he struggles to hit greens like a 15 handicapper (like pretty much every pro long driver I have ever seen play actual golf). Too much speed I guess, tiniest mishits go sideways.
This swing (Tiger's Butch swing) in my opinion is probably the most powerful, versatile swing you will ever see on tour. Top 5 power, and can hit the ball in any fashion - high/low/draw/fade/nuke/knockdown. Nicklaus and Weiskopf had the power, but not the versatility (Jack hit a super high fade every shot, Tom a super high draw). Hogan had the versatility but not the power. Although, it must be said - the BEST ballstrikers (statistically) generally only play one shot, and one shot only (Trevino, Durant, Couples, Lietzke, etc). More consistent, but harder to get close to pins and make birdies....
It is a true tragedy that his left knee got to the point where he simply could not do this swing anymore. There is a substantial amount of right-side loading, so to get back to the left he really had to snap his leg (Rory does this currently). That plus him getting about 50 pounds over the weight his bones were designed for (all muscle, but it doesnt matter) and that left knee just got worse and worse. Haney details in his book how his whole job was to figure out how to get Tiger to swing well WITHOUT snapping that left knee - and he did a pretty good job by flattening the swing and reducing the lateral movement, while weakening the grip so Tiger wouldnt hook it off the world with the flatter swing. People are always saying he should have stayed with the swing that won the Slam, and you better believe he would have if he could have. But that knee was done by 2008, he could barely walk at Torrey Pines when he won that one. He had to adapt to his body breaking down, no choice in the matter. I remember him saying in an interview that his knee was bothering him before his second US amateur win - it just got worse when he got so big and heavy, got past where he could deal with it.
But this swing here is pure gold, when his knee was still solid. Butch did what he always does with guys who come to him with a 2 - way miss like young Tiger had ( club crossing line at top pretty severely, leading to hook or big block right). He made Tiger take it outside pretty significantly compared to his natural swing, so even with his massive turn he doesnt cross the line at top (much). Worked for Norman, Tiger, Adam Scott, and Rickie Fowler - you can see Fowler practice the takeaway before every swing in fact.
@@kevinrochelle6353 preach! 🙌🏻
Google up Julius Boros or Sam Snead’s swings. They really were beautiful. Tiger had a great run and no one enjoyed watching and rooting for him more than I did. But, I remember Jack, saw him play 4 times. His the GOAT and no one will surpass him.
1:10 The introduction sums it all. The GOAT, at the peak of his prime - when his prowess and aura of invincibility on the golf course was more imposing than ever..
Yep all four majors + the TPC, the 5 biggest trophies in golf, were all in his possession at the same time
Wow! He is very calm and composed. He can laugh and then get back to focusing on his next shot. It is just GOAT stuff!
It's because he had supreme mastery of the game where he could do anything he wanted with a golf club.
Thanks for clearing that mystery up 👨✈️ obvious.
@@annagraham6204 Well, it wasn't 'obvious' to @Achira Chumchaivate. Your snarkiness is what's 'obvious'.
Here it is, 2024, and this never gets old to watch. He was the motivation factor behind me wanting to play. We are the same age. But our games are light years apart, lol.

Love the kids’ reactions! Where are they now? They all must’ve went on to greatness after witnessing this live.
One of them is a crackhead
Like to picture it being Justin Thomas 😆
I was one of these kids (a high school senior/local JR golfer). We were the forecaddies for the tournament. Tiger was hitting wedges to 5 feet on command. It was insane.
I was 14 in the front row, second time watching this clinic. It was insane. I was the kid who asked for the 7 iron flop shot towards the end.
Prison. All of them.
The ball flight at 11:05... wow.
I love the guy that makes golf ball pyramids and sets then up perfectly
I can't see all four majors being held by one person ever again... what an accomplishment
And the Players.. just insane

Can literally watch this forever
It seems a million years ago, my friends and I attended the GHO tourney every year in CT. Local for us. Our favorite thing to do was slip down to the range and watch Pros warm up. It's incredible to see how different the swings often are among the top players. I could watch Touring Pros hit balls all day long.
That right there is the greatest golf swing ever created...
I love how the thumbnail is tiger flopping the 7 iron looking like some of the guys at the range hitting their regular shot 🤣
100% vintage Seve right there.
They see one clip of tiger doing that and want to copy it to their full game
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This footage is from just a few months before 9/11 , and then unfortunate our entire world changed, the good ole days, thank you tiger , and butch your not to bad either
That’s such a scary thought. I’m 27 I don’t know what you talk about.

Who is the guy sitting below him? People with dreds don't normally wear shiny watches unless you're someone famous. And I love how easy it is to spot kid rock, his image hasn't skipped a beat, I love it haha
For me I love seeing the chemistry between Tiger & Butch. I actually think it’s almost underrated when thinking of Tiger as a whole. In my opinion one of the greatest of all time coach/athlete relationships in all of sports
Ive allways had golf in my life in someways, my grandfather, father and uncle played alot when i was yunger, but after i started to play a little on par3 courses and begining to take it more seriously i can truly appriciate this man han he's shots when he was at the top of hes game is the best theres is any gonna be, just incredible !!
I was there. senior in highschool invited to forecaddy. it was amazing. the wedges were the most amazing, he could fly it into a bucket from 100 yds on command.
The absolute power and athletisism just holding back like a legit Tiger, this is golden
GOAT!!! Can watch and learn from Tiger and Butch all day every day! Amazing talent! What you can't see at a range session is Tiger's mental strength. Not only amazing physical talents but mental toughness is off the charts. Thank you for sharing.
I love the excitement of the kid. I would guess he's 30 now
I'd guess he was 14, which would make him 37. 36 when you commented.
Such a dualistic nature of the fighter to the inner child. Nice to see how he has never changed this sincerity of character. A true testament to adversity in the wild world and the truth of self reluctantly defiant.
This is why tiger was so good... his control with any iron and his feel between distances. When he was healthy he could feel all that and he was unstoppable. We he got injuries that became a lot more difficult.
He’s truly an amazing golfer and a true sport for interacting with these people
Tiger, the absolute master of the stinger shot, what a brilliant compilation of Tiger at his prime.
no one has ever hit the ball with so many different shots like Tiger did and no one has controlled ball shapes and distances like the him its tyhe GOAT period
Him talking about that famous mind game 3-wood shot on 13th at Augusta, this video is gold
Mickelson probably cried himself to sleep that night lol
Do you usually hit your 3 wood that far?? No, usually farther
This was better than any Christmas present I’ve ever gotten
The sweet sound of flush contact every time…AMAZING. I’d be lucky a few times around!
His best swing 2000-2001
Agree with that. How many majors does his win if he stays with this swing?
1999 wasn’t bad either 😅
I have so much to learn 💪🏾💪🏾. Tiger makes it look easy. Practices daily and it shows 💪🏾💪🏾
Each shot is delivered deliberately. He reflects on what goes before and after he hits. Unlike those of us who hack and smash every error into oblivion 😢😅
speak for yourself, I'm a 4.
this guys pretty good at golf, i hope he makes it on the tour one day
It’s so funny that whenever Tiger is asked about how far he hits a club, it’s like 25 yards less then what he really does hit it. Of course in his prime he could hit the ball as far as he wanted with any club. Dude would hit 8 iron from 135 early in the round then hit it from 185 later.
23:39 okay that shows how freakishly talented he is
Actually, it shows how obsessed he is and how much work he put in. You could do that too, after 5 million golf swings...
@@shooter7a shut up jerkoff, I’m a much better golfer than you and Tiger is talented

Two things i realized about my swing watching this, dont bend my knees enough, and hands arent at or below my belt, more at my belly button. Tiger is doing both, and throwing darts. Need to get to the range now.

Early 2000's with Tiger at his peak was just about peak golf for me. I like some of the new guys, but it just doesn't feel the same.
Kid rock just creepin around lookin for hussies
Really good golf lesson - People might just see this as him hitting shots but it's probably one of the best instruction videos out there. (No verbal instruction to talk about.) Just the video of the technique perfectly executed for the purpose of a golf lesson.
To me, the slow shots give people the chance to see how he shifts his weight, moves his hip, keeps his balance, and controls the shot with his body... You can see the stance and so on (everything really.) This is followed by him doing more of an arm swing (in the followthrough - faster swings/Longer shots. ) Add to that some verbal instructions that he sneaks in when he explains some of his shots - Explaining how to manipulate the ball flight. To me that makes this video the perfect basic toolkit from A to Z for any level of golfer.
A hidden gem in my humble opinion. 😊👍🏌
He's going to kill the senior tour. It will be the TW effect all over again. Everyone will get paid. Golf owes this guy a debt of gratitude

Well, you made my morning. What a great video to watch. 😀
Crazy thing is that those kids are now your doctor or dentist or lawyer or your kid's teacher. I know this because they were my friends, and we are all now playing on the weekends - still yelling 'tiger woooods yall' when we do smoke one. This was a great nostalgic video - thank you: )
To really know how good Tiger was, if todays top players played in the 2000 US Open with modern tech they would struggle to break par playing at their absolute best. Tiger finished at -12 no chance under those conditions for that week could Koepka, Sheffler, Rahm nobody from todays game could even approach that score
Today's players would s*it their pants at a set up like that, then b*tch and moan all week. The resort style set ups today are really a shame.

Anyone who says this guy isn't the goat is living in a different world. Idc what he's done personally. No one has reached this level and I don't think anyone will for decades. You would have to breed a child who has golf in his DNA from 4 generations of golfers to achieve tigers skill. This is the product of someone whose loved the game since birth basically. You don't get that good without loving it and doing it everyday of your life from the age you can walk.
The best to do it. This is obviously more than a child’s “love” for a game. He was PROGRAMMED since birth. A high level military project. A 3yr old isn’t featured on national TV because he loves golf and is a real hard try’er. Free rounds, buckets and lessons at nearby Navy course. There was never any discrimination as Earl claimed either. That was part of the story to keep the masses divided. Everything was taken care of in advance. As Earl would often state “it’s all part of the plan”.
Absolute club twirl clinic too
The sound of that compression 😤
Dude is a freak of nature
Perfect technique is so ingrained in his swing that he couldn't properly execute the "Happy Gilmore".
Dang Kid Rock even was taking notes
The best tigers swing ever was was with Butch. Its too bad the media made tiger feel like butch was getting all the credit. That said, if you watch his front view, he has perfect lag and press. Which is more fun to watch than the rear view.
