Bonus tip for layer naming: Once you are done and exporting, name the layers starting from the very bottom layer to the top layer: 01_LayerName, 02_LayerName, 03_LayerName, etc This will make it easier at the importing part 4:02 and you can just import 01, 02, 03 etc and it should not require any re-ordering. Also this is extra and not necessary but helps me with my organization: For eyes open and eyes closed I add an A and B next to the number in the front like 07A_EyesOpen, 07B_EyesClosed Same with the mouth 08A_MouthClosed, 08B_MouthOpen If you have more options like sad eyes, half closed, etc feel free to add more letters like: 07C_EyesSad, 07D_EyesSquint, 07E_EyesHappy Hope these little layer naming tips help someone ^^
This is the ONLY tutorial I could find that clearly outlined how to upload things to PNGTuber+, and it was a big help to me today. Thank you for making this!
This is really helpful and nicely organized!! I'm surprised this doesn't have more views, it popped up in my recommended just as I was thinking about making a pngtuber LMAO
Thank you for making such a thorough guide! Extra tip for anybody at the drawing stage: Try to keep it 720x720 Excerpt from the PNGTuber+ creator's (kaiakairos) google doc guide: "PNGTuber Plus runs at a FIXED resolution scale. Basically, images will be displayed at their base size and will not be scaled. I personally recommend drawing all the assets in a 720x720 sized canvas, as that is the size of the base window when it is opened. In 1.1.4 and beyond, you can do CONTROL + MOUSE SCROLL to scale the entire avatar up or down. I would still recommend making assets smaller though." (Note this is as of PNGTUBER PLUS 1.4.5)
I've been using this program for a while and i didn't realize there were blink speed and animations for swapping outfits! thanks for sharing those! Your voice is also so lovely!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I've really wanted to try PNGtubing but wanted to do a bit more than just a drawing of my sona with her mouth and eyes open and closed. This was very easy to understand and doesn't overcomplicate anything for someone who has no knowledge of rigging. I really appreciate it and I'll be trying this out soon!
Recently finished my newest model on pngtuber + and gonna be using it tomorrow while I stream. So happy with how it turned out, thank you for the tutorial! (Srsly having it all in one place with time stamps is a LIFE SAVER!)
I don't have any Apple devices so I use Affinity Designer on desktop and its "Export Persona" allows me to batch export all the layers I want, and with a little bit of manual scaling, make them all artboard-size so they all "fit" the model without size issues.
Didn’t think I would see my TikTok in a yt video I’m watching at 1:48 AM…. Anywho great video 👍 you did a great job explaining your process and I love the art!
Thank you for the tutorial! I'm researching for commission purposes but this video even made me make a pngtuber for myself even though I don't stream hahah Also, lovely art! ♥

Heyy, I have a model that I've been working on for the better part of about...half a year, now? I'd love to share it, if you'd like. Your video here helped a ton with the latter part of my 'rigging', setting up the costumes and toggles n' stuff. Not quite sure how it would be best to share it? My main idea was tossing you the model file, really whatever works, if you'd be interested.
I feel like I am too stupid to figure out how to do changes on the costume layers. I do have to different kinds of expressions, but do I need to delete the other faces for the toggles or how does it work?
Hi, I tried to follow your tutorial, but just the beginning I can't delete the basic avatar, although I select it it shows me in "bug" basically the windows don't remain not fixed... can someone help me?
Back to front, so important the back of the hair, head etc. first, then the eyes and fringe and whatever last. But you can reorder the layers so it doesn't really matter!
can I toggle different sprite sheets the same way one toggles expressions so that I can draw different mouth shapes for different expressions but still keep them as expressive as the sprite sheet mouth and not just an open and close state?
Yes every layer can be toggled to different keys, so you can have multiple mouth closed / mouth open / eyes closed / eyes open and whatever else whether it is a sprite or not
Any size really because you can just zoom in and out in PNGtuber plus to resize. But I'd recommend big enough for good quality so maybe at least 2000 pixels ideally

Okay so from what I've learned the past 3 days is you actually have to know how to draw, unless you want to spend $2,000 on a custom avatar.
🌟 I learned several things that were not included in other videos. Thank you!! 🌟

Guys , any idea on how to control blinking time?? My persona takes a lot of time to blink

Can you use gif for the open mouth layer?

Question.. What is the "correct order" to layer things?
Back to front, so important the back of the hair, head etc. first, then the eyes and fringe and whatever last. But you can reorder the layers so it doesn't really matter!

WAHT SIZE DOES THE CANVAS NEED TO BE
