@@havelovewilltravel777 That's definitely true, but I think it shows the most with the drummer, like in his restraint when hitting the cymbals as opposed to hitting the toms/snare
i've loved emma and her music for years. her music has gotten me thru some really tough shit, including heroin addiction. this is one of the best live performances i've ever seen
Agreed, even more powerful and ambient sounding. I love how her voice is literally whispering in the beginning and gets progressively louder throughout the song. Very passionate.
pdg887 I just scrolled down to say the same . There's a live (Tiny Desk?) version of Control where the sound person knocked it out . IMO , whoever does their sound should be considered a member of the band .
@@lisacolbert5987 Do you mean the Highway Holidays TV recording of Darkhorse/Control by any chance? Came from there (so to speak) and yes, the recording is *awesome*

I really love it when I find hidden gems like this on this platform. Truly incredible
I was lucky enough to see ERR perform this in a small pub in Brighton & Hove called The Prince Albert. The band behind her is Jaye Jayle and they played their own set as support at the gig. One of the best gigs I’ve seen in terms of Main act and support.
Emma is an absolute maelstrom. I fall into these songs and come out at the end, like out of a dream. And by the way, whoever is doing sound should get some kind of a raise. Amazing.
I don't know where this magnificent, yet fragile woman draws her powers from, but having seen her live yesterday, I have gazed into the eyes of a powerful storm. Just unbelievable! 🎶🖤
I've never had an abortion or a miscarriage of my own, but this song and Daughter's "Lifeforms" fucking both kill me....especially since my son is my whole goddamn life, purpose and existence. Emma Ruth Rundle - you have a sensitivity that so many lack.
This is my first visit to Audiotree, and my first time hearing Emma Ruth Rundle. There's something really special and powerful in this music, so I subscribed, liked and commented. I want this to steer my UA-cam experience now. It's like, I just found the place from which to start my actual journey. Thanks for sharing this music.

Actually these are not quite the right lyrics. These are the studio version. If you listen well, she's not saying exactly the same on this live (& better) version ;)
Recently discovered Emma’s music, breathtaking and poetic. Not to mention the riffs and instrumental side, that’s a whole sensory experience in itself. I hope I see her live some day.
Ran onto this from listening to the new Thrice album. Holy hell. I'm so glad. Was way into Mazzy Star back in college. Emma is so awesome and her band fits great!
After a nice birthday of one of my frineds and come home and listen this great song it's a nice way to finish a day. This artist deserves more atention, and more festivals.
Agreed. This is dope. Got to see Emma twice this year. She doubled in goodness the second time around. Love her passion. Jaye Jayle was a great addition to her band and backups

She came on my lists whilst KEXP live videos as I was walking across the mountains of North Wales, looking towards the Northern Seas, truly amazing musician and I hope to see her in Nottingham on the 28th of September in England.
Musically, it's like "stoner rock meets Lana del Rey". I loved! The advantage over Lana (in addition to the stoner ingredient, of course) is the genuineness of Emma's voice.
I read the comments before I listened, and GODDAMN, I can agree this is even better than the studio version. This song was such a slow burn, damn brilliant. 🧠

This is monumental in very respect. The sound engineer is genius. One of Emma's top vocal performances

The best comments on the best music videos often come from Pink Floyd fans .
While there is nothing trying to reach for profundity in this comment, it’s groundedness, simplicity and honesty makes it beautiful.
So powerful, so amazing, brings so much to the surface, whether you want it or not. Absolutely incredible.

Can't believe I just discovered you a few months ago. This song..... changed me...♥️
forever want to lay with you
wanting dust to dust, to fade out
you’re gone
the only church I’ll ever see
are paper hands calling me
“come home, you’re done”
I never was too pretty, just a spirit in this city now
with no one at all
but I’ve never come so far alone
into something beautiful of my own design
Heaven, I’m done
if one and one and one are three:
something in this life I’ll never see
baby is gone
the only church I’ll ever know
is in the Earth, the ground below me says:
“come home now, you’re done”
I never was a pretty thing,
always fight and sometimes scream
for nothing at all
and I've never come so far alone
into something beautiful of my own design
Heaven, I’m done
Oh John, I can see Fire
I can see your Work, the Flames grow higher
I can See - i can See - i can See
I can See in Heaven
