I've lived a long time and I waited all my life to hear a singer like Diana. This type of singer (female contralto) is rare, but Diana has abilities that are something else! Truly a unique phenomenon that we may only come across once in many lifetimes! Did you know Diana took up singing at 5yo to help her speak properly? This was due to her tragic but inspiring young childhood. Wikipedia has detailed, accurate information which is a story that films are made about!
Basically, Diana was "born this way" and thank God, when she was very young she decided to sing in the presence of someone who understood immediately that she had perfect pitch and a great ear for music! The rest is history!

I figure it might be worth saying that you are already pretty amazing at smiling. Diana is a super star with that capability. It is a good skill to refine because there are two brain centers for smiling. One, you have limited control over and is the genuine smile, the other is a forced smile. Blending them will always help brighten the room. Sometimes thinking about that can help you smile in itself.

this song seems to scare a few folk! :) Rather than a narrative about a toxic relationship, I choose to interpret it as that feeling when you thought you had your life planned out and then your path crosses with someone and you realize you have fallen hopelessly and deeply in love and that you have no option but to surrender - as frightening as that may be. Maybe they don't feel the same way or reject you, or they or you are already with someone. When you really fall in love, it is like facing a tsunami of uncertainties and scary as hell! I think this rendition conveys that really well. But honestly, Diana could sing the phone book and I would probably love it.

Hello Aaliyah, thank you for your fine reaction. Diana has a very rare voice. Yes, she is a contralto and she is also polyphonic. This is a new TV show in Russia, you know. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well known artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. November 2021. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won the overall competition of which Diana won 4 and took 2nd place once. She shocked the other singers with the first song. The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion. The judge who stands up is the great opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and the husband of Anna Netrebko, who is world famous. He's very impressed.

From watching several voice coaches and teachers reviews of her, I believe the natural structure of her larynx plus training and practice have enhanced the resonances of her voice to give it the rich haunting sound. Her song choices and arrangements help bring out the polyphonic nature. Her stage presence is also something to watch. She is totally immersed when she sings. Wonderful reaction. She wanted the song to be dark, falling in love isn't always a happy or good thing. At 18, she is still early in her development as a singer, but I think she is already a true polyphonic contralto, {rare}, with an amazing range and control. As she matures, I hope she will make the transition into a full dramatic contralto, {very rare}. Since you are studying opera, did you recognize the judge standing on the top row with the beard and tears in his eyes? He is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both well-known and respected opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could move him to tears?

Interesting, but Deeana's composition is a 3rd-level cover. Originally French song "Plaisir d'Amour" (18th century) was covered by Elvis Presley. After that Tommee Profitt made a minor key cover. And now Deeana did a cover on it.

Hello again Aaliyah, so you now diana, this poor girl had a horrible up bringing she lived in a small place in russia! Her real mother was'nt so nice to her she was one of six, and the youngest, she was beat, and constantly told she was usless, she then put in a home, at 9 yrs old whilst there she was mostly alone and just hummed to her self!! Then a lovely woman took her away, and became her step mother after adoption, she encouraged her to sing and express her feelings, this is why her voice is deep and unique, she has many more songs, she refused to meet her, biological mum, when she became known, bless mel
