For the eighth week, fans of Diana Ankudinova have been waiting every Saturday like manna from heaven to see the performance of the best vocalist of this planet in the show of the Russian channel NTV. A magnificent sight!
This is the only performance that gives me constant shivers no matter how many times I listen to it! Weird thing is that the shivers seem to hit a different place with each listen. A couple of the judges/competitors comment the Diana's performance was far above the level of this competition. I read that when she was announced the winner, she sang it again even better! How could it have been better?
This speaks to my soul as well. Got me honest shivers, which is pretty rare for me. 😊

Hello Anna, I looked towards your reaction and comments as always. I don't know what (emotional well) Diana has at her disposal but it's deep, expansive and eternal. A complete professional performance........ Always have goosebumples when I listen (experience) Diana's vocals and artistry. For me, I would pay large somes of currency to see her perform this live. One of the other participants (Lady in red dress) stated that every cell resonated during her performance and didn't understand what she had heard. This is simply Beautiful! I had the pleasure to introduce you to Diana a long time ago. You reacted to Wicked Games and I have been following your reaction videos since. The song which, for me, has had the most emotional impact of all is 'Oh, it's not evening yet' an old Kossak song. It tears up the other contestants. Worth considering for your next reaction video and yes it's nothing like she have done before.

Exactly, I've never even heard of anyone that has taken this vocal quality into her head voice. I have listened to her many times and had kind of written her off as a gimmicky singer. But this performance to me is legendary. Have you heard anyone else do this, taking that voice past her flip point and into her head voice? Me neither. What about this arrangement, I thought it was brilliant. In fact the only word that comes to mind for this whole performance, EPIC. What do you think? She’s singing this song to her adopted mother. I will die on this hill. One of the really cool things about this song is that when Elvis originally sang it, he was also singing to his mother. I’m really, really, really hoping that she does a fuller cover of this song with this arrangement, because . . .

the performer. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far
northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where
she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was
still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage
therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the
first to recognize something special in this little girl, and
eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because
it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without
impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in
street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a
Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the
age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV
shows, and her songs started showing up on UA-cam.
Two months ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a
new Russian television competition with several other renowned
performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of UA-cam

No school and children's holiday in Russia is complete without this song. This song was written in 1968 by the brilliant Soviet composer Mikael Tariverdiev for the adventure film "Passenger from the " Equator".

What a nice job you do pointing out and explaining all the many, many choices Diana makes here as she presents the performance. The sounds, the body movements and variations from head to chest voice show how much thought she puts into the development of her artistic interpretation. Before, if someone mentioned this song everyone thinks “Elvis”. However, if you are lucky enough to have heard this, now “Diana” is the Doppelgänger, the polar opposite, darkly beautiful and mesmerizing. Loved your reaction to Diana's "Can't Help Falling in Love" version of this classic. It is a treat to see your "fine point" analysis as there is so much to be said about the artistic musical "feast" Diana serves up each time. You are one of only a few "reactors" I like coming back to watch again and again even on the same reaction. I love your language skills, too. You obviously know English very well and your pronunciation is peppered perfectly throughout your beautiful native tongue (which is a joy to listen to, by the way). I don't see most reactors remember to "time stamp" their "highlights" (very impressive technique) which keeps your analysis on point and your editing time down as well. Keep up the great work!
