@@ding0925 Thanks for the response did you change the engine oil control valve and did you have an issue with shavings?Found them in the control valve and am scared they will spin a bearing? Has that been a concern at all? I gave you a sub.
Good video David From what I’ve learned the water thin viscosity in modern engine oil is due to the vvt system and the need to get oil to the top of the motors ASAP. Keep regular oil changes up and use the recommend oil viscosity. Don’t neglect oil change frequency. Service vehicles like this patrol car will sit at idle for HOURS and never move in the 3k mile schedule...With that In mind, I’d advocate for the engine hourly run time schedule and not mileage on the frequency of the oil change. If they change the oil at the recommended mileage frequency this motor’s oil viscosity has well begun to break down resulting in lifter/cam issues. You’ll see this on most fleet service vehicles that spend most of its life at idle. (A short lifespan to be sure) good work!
Im gonna start doing some videos soon. Im a diy guy and have a 06 Chrysler 300c hemi awd and gotta do a oil pan gasket. Im also gonna put a new set of heads on to escape valveseat failure i hope, while its apart new lifters cam and timing chain. I havent decided if im gonna try and go more power or just put back like it is. But to do the oil pan gasket im gonna have to drop the front diff cause it run through the oil pan, there are zero videos on any awd repairs so im gonna do it in a couple months
It's got a cop motor, a three hundred ninety two cubic inch Hemi plant. It's got the cop camshaft, cop lifters, cop pushrods, It's been running 15,400 hours at idle with no oil so the cam lobes are flat. What do you say? Is the new Mopar Hemi crap?
These cars use HOAT antifteeze, not DexCool. They use 5W-20 because the MDS system requires it. SRT, who engineers the squads for Chrysler Fleet, is calling for Pennzoil full synthetic for these cars. LD body Charger Pursuits from 2011-2014 use electro-hydraulic steering; the pump is in front of the right steer tire. 2015+ are all electric, there is no pump. The power steering is on the column. Mopar has finally found a vendor to produce a lifter with the precise machining and robust rollers that will hold up: 5038784AD/5038785AD
@@ding0925 lovely. My own '13 is starting to go to hell. My thinking is - for what the parts and labor cost - cam, lifters, timing chain kit, water pump, VVT solenoid, injectors, plus any head work - a good '18 or '19 engine out of the boneyard might be best.
@@pkranz937 A junk yard engine may give you the same problem you have now, the engines effected are 09-through present.. fix yours yourself for about 1800 with a performance cam and non MDS lifters.

I came across your video cause this is my third 2014 Dodge Charger sxt , my second one developed ticking noise after 150k miles it was covered under manufacturers warranty at the dealer they had to replace cam and lifters I got rid of it after the repair , this third one I got after that one had 80k miles and was an upgraded version so I babied it got it oil changes on times and all that well the SOB started tapping on me recently and I use castrol high mileage 5-20 full synthetic, I heard you mention you suggest 10-40 well that’s interesting , what you do you think about my issue based on the Information I provided
Dw Red why not go with the Waterless Antifreeze, I been running it now almost 2 years and noticed my temp is lower, great heat in the winter, sure it cost more and a pain to set the vehicle up for it, but I believe in the long run it's worth it
Yep 5-20 is way too thin, same problems with cam phasers and timing components on ford 5.4 and 4.6. Go to a full synthetic 5-30 or 10-30 oil and you won't have those problems, proven many times on the Ford 5.4 after timing component replacement and swap to full synthetic 5-30 with regular 5000-6000 mile oil changes and no more timing issues. Good info as always sir.
Rebuild or put a new motor in it where do you think all the shavings from the needle bearings and cam shaft have gone we are going to waste a lot of time

I have a lifter rattle. 3 different shops told me to do a motor swap and refused to look at it...... All these shops now a days are full of con men
Awesome DRIma watch part 2 now. Nice work Brother. My 2014 5.7 Pursuit just started making a rattling noise up top✌️🤠🌾
