I made my own tarot deck out of index cards, and I immediately felt a connection to it. Maybe because I made it myself? I really don't know.

It really depends. You can always write the titles on the cards and use them blank as you take the time to draw them out. You can make it as elaborate or as simple as you want. You could literally just make it very.quickly. it.might not be the most beautiful.but it would be yours.

I just got a tarot deck today and I’ve never messed with them because I’ve always been scared. As i am feeling them and shuffling, a card feel out. I took it as a sign and looked at it. It was death. I looked it up in my booklet and i was kind of pleased to find it saying that its a sign of new beginnings and the end of a chapter while another opens. I can’t wait to get more into my craft :)
I love the Death card! Even though the experience is really challenging, what comes after is AMAZING.
Things I wish I had known and can offer to the next generation of card readers. Or things I knew but felt like I had to do in order to grasp what is going on with tarot.
1. Forget the book with all of its meanings about the cards that comes with the cards. Don't study it. What do you logically, intuitively, emotionally, naturally, and spiritually gather from each card when you look at them one by one? Don't try to sugar coat anything either, tell it like it is, because you have to remember that you may be giving readings for other people who want them and those people will appreciate the honesty and will come back to you for that honesty.
2. Bonding with your tarot deck, or any divination tool for that matter, is a very personal experience. Use them as much as possible however you see fit, whether it would be simply just shuffling the cards themselves, to doing readings on random things or maybe even sleeping with it under your pillow for three nights in a row. Worry not about the spreads for readings, do what feels right to you at the time when you do a reading and experiment with different spreads and create your own as well, it's part of the bonding process.
3. Your tarot journal doesn't have to be some "special journal" that says on its cover "tarot journal" when you buy it off of Amazon, it can actually be anything you feel comfortable using, kind of like a three ring binder with ruled paper you have place in it or a five subject notebook or a composition journal that you would buy for something like school and you can pick up for about a dollar at Walmart.
4. The sacred space you use is your own, you don't need to do what everyone else is doing, or use what everyone else is using. Your craft is your own, that is why it is called "your craft", because no one will do it quite like you and what works for someone else may not always work for you, and vica versa. Use what is around you if that is what feels most natural to you, or go out buy the things you want if that is what feels most natural to you, or do a mixture of both with a little bit of DIY when buying supplies for your set up your space for your craft and make your own things out the materials that you have gathered. Remember, though, that there is still a general consensus to things like crystals, incense, and etcetera and what their properties and uses are.
5. Probably the most important but also most intertwined rule with the others. Just let it flow, like life. We each stumble and fall, but we also each get up and try again with dedication to honing our craft, and apply those lessons that we have learned or some we have nearly forgotten and refine and refurbish them because society tried to beat it out of us, to future applications.

They suggest you sleep with them under your pillow for a couple weeks or whatever you see fit (meaning whatever is comfortable for you and however long it takes for you to create a meaningful bond with your tarot cards)!!
It has taken me years and years to get a handle on tarot, and the best way I learned was mixed between study and teaching tarot to my mom!
I can only do the 3 card spread I will learn the other spreads though in due time

This may be unpopular but i didnt actually cleanse my deck when i first got it. I took it out looked through all the cards greeting them and just appreciating them, I put them back into the box and left them in ths window in the moonlight over night. This was because I could feel the pull of the deck from across the store and I didnt wanf it to break the voice of the deck
Thank you kindly for your video. I enjoy my tarot journey for over 10 years now. I feel blessed each day to talk to my cards. I carry my personal deck always with me. I take each day a card and reflect upon it each day. It gives meanning to card as well. As if you pull out a card in a morning and make the reflection in the evening, you realize that so many moments of your day were reflecting the card you pulled out in a morning. Sometimes I hold the cards for some time to get the energy of them. To me, tarot cards are very relaxing tool. It does require time to bond with tarot cards but every little step counts. I just got the rider Waite deck yesterday and I feel so drawn to it like I feel I need to be touching it at all times not sure what that means

Love your vibe! Glad I found your channel. Great idea on going through a course w/ a new deck. I loved Benebell's Tool for Craft class and will revisit it w/ my new Starchild and maybe the Tabula Mundi. She also has a Tarot for Creativity video that might be fun to do with a new deck. I also like to do a deck comparison journal. Veronica Jude had an awesome video on that. And although I only buy decks I know I'll love, I do tend to get them all at once. So yeah, lots and lots of smudging and shuffling in front of the tv. A " book club" for tarot decks would be fun to do, but organizing it is another story lol.

I felt like I was weird for always wanting to handle and shuffle my deck while watching a movie or other readings on UA-cam etc. I’m glad to see I am not alive and not at all weird! lol 😂 Well maybe I’m a little weird but I’m ok with that. Lol!
My mother has always done tarot and astrology. I am 37 years old and can still hear her constant shuffling in my head.lol it drive me crazy! I have never been interested in doing any of it myself.... but I have a psychic medium etc that I have seen many times. On another note I have been told by my regular psychic and one other that I am an empath and an intuitive and that it will affect my life... that I need to learn how to handle that. When I was young I knew I had very scary and odd dreams and have always been Able to sense presence. I have always believed in The paranormal since a very young age. Funny enough I also became a licensed social worker. In the middle of all of that... I also have had SEVERE anxiety and major depression which has been a huge struggle that has affected every aspect of my life. This past August I lost my job due to my mental health worsening. I could go on forever but to get to the point.... I am currently still unemployed, broke and not able to even support myself. I am very alone with very little support. No relationship, very little family and just lonely and feeling very stuck. I began to watch live feeds of paranormal investigations and via chat.... connected with a girl who is a medium due to me sensing the same things that she was getting. All of a sudden just out of the blue I began realizing being an empath etc is more the reason for my constant fatigue and negative feelings because these live feeds became an outlet for me. I then began guided meditations on UA-cam for empathy and became interested in learning and in the moon phases and tarot etc. I have never been super religious. I do pray but more to my spirit guides than anything bc I have never truely been sure of what I believe in. But... I am a huge believer in “signs” etc so the fact that I have never explored these things and now just have became so curious and willing to learn, even though I am still struggling badly... I feel a sense of peace and meaning like I was finally shaken by the shoulders and told to explore all of this further. So even having no money... last night it’s like I had a push at 7 pm to get get tarot cards! So I followed that and did. So I am pulling them out to begin shuffling and following your tips and really appreciate this video and your energy!!! I know this is an older video but I wanted to share my story about my tarot cards. I got my first deck when Christmas shopping at 5 Below and I stumbled across a beginners deck. I was a little stoned at the time but when I walked past the deck I knew I had to have it. That same day I bought a bag at Goodwill that I was going to use for every day use but ended up being a tarot card bag. Now I feel a deep attachment to the cards and I feel like they are in tuned with me. I think the tone with this deck is brutally honest deck if that makes sense. Not light or dark but will just be honest with me. Anyway, I am very new to tarot reading but I’m glad I came across this video and I’m glad it verified what I was feeling towards my cards. Thought I was crazy lol
I loved my Wildwood tarot! Also got it recently and I do a lot of the things you mentioned. I love shuffling :) I always pick my faves, and my least fave- then sit with the least faves more hahaha Always great insights! I also imagine what other decks it would fit best, what type of readings etc... I used to do the interviews too but not so much into them right now for some reason.. Great sharing J xx

I’m 14 and I’m getting them for Christmas my mum has always been into this type of stuff, she has the cards but haven’t taken time to learn how to do it, I’ve always been obsessed with watching reading videos, I don’t know what all the cards mean but I’m slowly learning.
When your shuffling your terot decks is that you can feel thair energy and they gives of a really goofy vibe that's for me anyway the energy feels different for everyone but thank you for your help 😁😁

i recently got two decks for christmas, one i feel very called to and i have the guide for and the other is the rider tarot deck that i don’t have a guidebook for and i’ve done some shelving cause i heard you have to wait for a full moon so i protected them with my energy and then left them under the full moon but i heard i have to take a week to bond and sync energies and not do any readings during that time until after that week, now the one thing i’m concerned about is a deck feeling left out like i don’t want to give one less energy than the other and i’m not sure if that would cause any issues or how to go about that

I’d love to hear your opinions on this deck as it’s inspired by pagan/Wicca /witchcraft art ,interpretations and archetypes - thank you for all of your videos you inspire me to embrace my witchy self and be more open to give things a go - like a spell or trying out a tarot spread , i was finding it hard to have confidence in myself with my spells (and tarot )as I didn’t feel I had enough strength and visualisation skills to push my will and intent out there into the universe and cause a change , I also didn’t feel confident that I could do a spread and the interpretations would mean anymore to me than had I just randomly dealt out cards and looked up the meanings - but they do ! And spookily so , they even flow in order each card influencing the next !! I feel sure that that isn’t just random luck -but you are soooo right that giving things a go and feeling them out is the best way to - thank you ! Rae Shell I don’t suggest it. You want to be gentle and respectful of your deck. Sleep with it on your nightstand so it’s by you but not being damaged.

Rae Shell yes perfect question I got my first tarot deck of the riders and I feel in love with them so much . Then on the 2nd day I was falling asleep but the cards were calling me in a deep desire to be with me in bed . I could feel the deck love for me . So I got up and got my deck and I’m put them under my pillow and I slept like a baby .. I would definitely suggest to sleep with your cards for atlease 7 days straight.. it will bring you much closer to them ... make you guys try this it awesome 😎👍🏽

ok so i just got a deck because i was wanting to experiment with it. I dont really know what the cards mean yet but i have been shuffling a lot and every time the 2 of cups falls out! it just keeps popping up so what could that mean? Its weird.

Thanks for the tips! I just started my tarot journey very recently, but unfortunately my husband thinks it’s creepy so I can’t play with them as much as I want to :/. We’re both Christians but he’s more on the legalistic side and thinks most things outside of the Bible are demonic, while I’ve always been more of an open minded free spirit and believe God speaks to us in many ways, not just the Bible! ❤️

Thank you for this video! I have to ask, you talk about having a lot of decks and I'm currently juggling only two but I find that overwhelming because I'm confused about interpreting different decks. Do you have interchangeable meanings for each card despite the deck or do you have separate meanings? Thank you!

Try spreading your deck out in a pillowcase, then place that pillowcase between your mattress and your boxspring under where your head normally is!
Can you use technique for oracle cards too
