OMG, I grew up listening to maestro fresh Wes! He truly was and is a visionary Canadian talent! The guy’s a friggin poet! Just spitting lyrics like a master, in Canada, making his own hip hop scene from the ground up. Definitely one of my favourite songs of all time. Love it!!
You should do a Canadian video battle between K OS "Superstar" vs Maestro Fresh Wes "Drop The Needle" vs Choclair "Let's Ride" vs Kardinal Offishall "BaKardi Slang"
This song, "Let your Backbone slide" with Maestro Fresh Wes was so huge and popular all over Canada. It still has lots of airplay on certain radios almost everyday. Great reaction. New subscriber here. 😊
We had a great rap/hiphop scene back in the day! A great sampler would be "Northern Touch" by The Rascalz, a cypher by some of our top talent! Thanks for another fun reaction gentlemen!
Shawn and Trey, This looks like a different song battle featuring videos. The first song is an uptempo frantic paced song that has a jazzy style like you said. It sounds different from the hip hop style of today The video is colorful and fast paced. It is catchy. The comments by you guys are accurate describing the song. The second song has wild lyrics and a big beat percussion and fast paced music, the video is wild like the song. Your comments are on point. You both chose the second song as the winner, I choose the first song. I thought it was a bit more catchy. Weird and wild song battle by CSN.
The Bossa Nova sample comes from a t.v. show where people play a queri/ answ., male/ female to acquaint to date game, yes people played a blind dating game on National T.V....& got paid!!! Who's gonna roll that back?!!! Who's Game?!!
Totally, but drake can’t spit lyrics like that! Off topic, but Drake was also a child actor on the Canadian show Degrassi High. Check it out if you haven’t already
