14:50 I feel a lot of people miss something here. I noticed this on a 2nd watch of the movie, Peach told the council of Toads that she was gonna leave for the Kong Kingdom THE NEXT MORNING. She wasn’t planning on leaving right then and there. When she met Mario (a potentially concerned citizen) and heard that his brother was captured by Bowser, Mario himself insisted on coming with. She wanted to test Mario’s ability and see if he was capable enough to actually face the potential dangers. By the next morning, even though Mario (ultimately) didn’t pass the course, she let him tag along cause she liked his tenacity. I’m sure if he didn’t show any progress at all by the morning, she wouldn’t have let him come. Ultimately, she didn’t “waste time” training Mario, because as she said, she wasn’t planning on leaving till the morning anyway. She probably would’ve slept or something within that time until she left at daylight. You may believe she actually should’ve left right away, but that wasn’t her plan, so it’s not a flaw within the script. Whether or not you want to count her not leaving right away as a critique, her taking time for Mario was not. That part is covered. That one line of dialogue is just very easy to miss.
I wouldn't have minded that most of the movie Mario and Luigi were split up if they just gave them BOTH their adventures. But they gave Luigi absolutely nothing to do until the Very last moment of the last scene..Which annoyed the crap out of me. I still enjoyed the movie but they may as well of left Luigi out of the movie entirely. And much agreed about how great they set up their brotherly love in the beginning only to completely ignore it until the final moment lol

So it went to Illumination because they did what Nintendo wanted. Also it's Twitter. What do you expect? The movie is simple but good. Wasn't the biggest fan of some of Peaches lines, but overall I rather enjoyed it.
I sort of made fun of Chris Pratt as well, but only for because I thought he was miscasted. However, after watching the film myself, and seeing for myself that Chris Pratt actually respects the fans of the Mario franchise and is not an egotistical Hollywood piece of trash, I apologized for making fun of him and it is pleasing to see Illumination actually listened to Nintendo and we’re willing to work under a mentorship with them. I hope Illumination will not descend into the woke insanity the media has become. Great review.
Few things 1. With Luigi being captured it wouldn’t give Mario a reason to go on the adventure I was just glad he did something at the end 2. Not sure if you know Cat Mario in the game since it was Super Mario 3D world 3. The giant bullet bills are actually called Banzai bills 4. Is your little figure a marsh mellow or not I always wondered?
If you saw the after credits shot it shows Bowser is consistent because he’s not going to hold Peach accountable he’s obsessed with her so it’s always going to be Mario’s fault for merely existing. Even after he’s imprisoned he’s still singing peaches. So no trust me he holds up.
6:43 oh god 😂😂😂 what are people thinking, wahoo wrong?! That's why god dang it community, why is this the reason, come on! This video is cool, I'm subscribing!
I liked this film, but when I compare the Mario movie to the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movies, then you can sort of tell which one I enjoyed more.
@@RomanSimkinsit's a Mario movie the story wouldn't be that much when Mario stories are: Someone's kidnapped Gameplay Gameplay Gameplay Saved Extra gameplay
20:32 In some of the older Mario Kart games, you actually COULD trick the Blue Shell. Unfortunately that's not the case in the newer ones where it moves too fast to react...
I give this movie a 7/10 too. It's good, and it's a nice mindless fun time, pretty funny, lots of nostalgia, but the writing is pretty... meh. Also didn't like what they did with Peach and Luigi. Felt like they did Luigi dirty, and Peach didn't feel like Peach.. didn't like Peach's voice either tbh..... Toad also felt forced
it’s one of illumination’s best movies it did good in the box office. It wasn’t that great but it’s the name alone that makes it good because everyone grew up with Mario and everyone knows his name, everyone knows that iconic wahoo
Honestly peach’s voice was worse than mario’s. She sounds nothing like peach and we never got any scenes showing how comically sweet she is to the point where even her enemies are respectful of her
@@SeasonalGFilms strongly disagree. I love every mario character’s original voice and the fact that the pokemon anime is so popular despite having far more obnoxious voices disproves people who claim, peach or mario’s original voices would have driven people away. Just my two cents
@@firenze6478 I think the writers wanted Peach to be a more mature than in the games. Also Pokemon movies, their based on the anime more so than the games.
But it isn't that hard to explain though. Bowser is most likely blaming Mario for, well, existing and stealing his one and only true love. He most likely thinks that if Mario never appeared his wedding would have been a success.
This movie reminded me of jumanji quite a lot, hits the ground running, never lets you go, and then wrapped up with a bow nicely. Also this bowser is lot more dellusional and posessive!
I honestly think Movie Bowser was a VERY GOOD portrayal of game Bowser, the only real differences between them was that movie Bowser didn't seem to care for his troops like Game Bowser does, and that movie Bowser actually remembered Luigi's name. Other than that, they were almost the same character.
@@erikbihari3625 Like, in Mario RPG: Legend of seven stars, some of his minions leave his army without his permission because they were afraid of Smithy, and when he finds out, he just forgives them and tells them to go live a happy life. He was furious when Fawful and Count Bleck put his minions in danger and they were the main reason he joined mario's team in Super Paper Mario. He even forgave 3 traitrors who betrayed him and joined Fawful. And he does compliment his minions when they genuinely do a good job. So yeah
16:48 And Jack Black was originally against it. He changes his mind, and likes it now, but he shockingly doesn't get A SINGLE CENT for the song... Although he IS allowed to perform it at concerts...
I actually got annoyed at Twitter for the opposite reason, while I think this move is pretty good and is fun to watch, it does have some problems such as bad pacing and some odd character interactions for example. However Twitter likes to see this movie as the Holy Grail and believes it’s one of the best movies in history that beats out all the others, and while at first I didn’t care as much about them praising the movie. I started to get pissed when a lot of people starting hating on different movies such as saying they aren’t that good or the Mario movie beats it out by a long shot, along with Twitter attacking and harassing those who don’t see the movie as a 10/10 and had some complaints with it. I’m fine when people are talking good about a movie but don’t start slandering other people’s work or swearing at others who don’t share the same opinion as you just to make the thing you like look better, it helps no one.
That blue shell guy was actually in the beginning of the movie I think but he’s basically just like the general koopa that wasn’t touched on until later on 🤷🏽♂️
I think what Illumination should have done was to make multiple movies focusing on the origins of the characters while leading up to a final epic movie...
I like Jim Carrey Eggman more than Jack Black Bowser. I mean as a whole, I like Bowser better than Eggman, but in movie form I like Eggman better. I think it's because Eggman in the Sonic movies gets more screen time and is just so much goofier. He also presents himself as more of a threat as he doesn't care about anyone and he interacts with Sonic for more than 5 minutes. He interacts with Sonic a lot in the movies. Now Bowser does have that one scene with Luigi, but Eggman got a lot more time with Knuckles in the 2nd movie
Another reason why the Sonic live-action animation hybrid movies are structured better as films than Mario. But the Mario movie is way more fun for sure.
I was honestly impressed with Chris Pratt's performance in this movie. I don't know what people are talking about... Chris Pratt sounds exactly the same in every movie he's ever been in, and yet this is the first time where his voice actually kinda works (surprisingly enough) and he talks with an ever so slight accent that makes him sound a lot less like his usual generic voice.
20:16 Actually, I think that is what happens when the blue shell is empty, like in the games. I think that the koopa can control who he blows up when he is in the shell
I think an interesting point of detail in this movie was how no matter how much the characters got knocked around, in the other dimension / kingdoms, they didn't get bruised up much if at all. But in the 'real world', they get bruised and banged up pretty bad, which is pretty neat to notice.
The only thing that really PISSED ME OFF, is that they had so good content, and then... it was cut. For example the original Mario entering the mushroom kingdom soundtrack was perfect, but it was replaced with a generic track, but remixed, as if we hadn't enough remixes of the same tracks again and again and again and again and again and again. But the worse thing: they took "Drivin' me bananas" and replaced it with an ancient song. everyone has already heard thousands and thousands of times. What's so great about this song? Right, NOTHING, it's not original, it's overused and in my opinion not even good. Oh and btw: They cut the GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF, GET IT OFF part too :(. !--> Still my favourite movie of all time!
I don't get it... what do you mean with "the original Mario entering the mushroom kingdom soundtrack was perfect, but it was replaced with a generic track, but remixed"? The Drivin' me bananas issue is fair. Thankfully there is an edit here in UA-cam that corrects that mistake
The movie is actually pretty good, i was nervous about the fact Illumination was the studio that made it but it turned out really good! The only complain is that the pacing was really fast since an hour wasn't enough to cover every point with enough screentime, but maybe if they made a sequel (due to the yoshi egg ending) maybe this time they could slow down the pacing but anyways it's a good movie for killing time, not every movie needs to have a profund note anyways. It's just safe dumb fun, and nobody hates dumb fun...
If I'm being honest, The super Mario brothers movie is one of the best animated movies of 2023 And i can tell that Illumination embarrassed Disney and Pixar by a mile! because tell that this is one of the greatest movies. and you are correct Nintendo wanted money and illumination made the money soooooo makes sense but also this movie should deserve a 10\10 for me because it's REALLY GOOD!
It’s really cool that you loved the movie that much But that doesn’t give you the right to say Illumination outdid Disney this year. Even though Mario made a landslide of money I’d argue that Elemental is CRITICALLY better because at least Pixar poured their heart and soul into that movie and didn’t focus mainly on money
My only gripe before the movie released was the fact that illumination was who they worked with… the thought of the two most money hungry and soulless companies working together is crazy 💀

Also it's Twitter. What do you expect? The movie is simple but good. Wasn't the biggest fan of some of Peaches lines, but overall I rather enjoyed it.
The movie was fun, not amazing or spectacular. Just some simple fun and visually awesome. Jack Black as Bowser is *chef's kiss*
Do you have a writing team for your opening skit? It is always fresh and hilarious 🤣 you knock it out the ball park with your jokes too
Just FYI, you could stomp koopas(turtles) in the arcade games...lol
I sort of made fun of Chris Pratt as well, but only for because I thought he was miscasted. However, after watching the film myself, and seeing for myself that Chris Pratt actually respects the fans of the Mario franchise and is not an egotistical Hollywood piece of trash, I apologized for making fun of him and it is pleasing to see Illumination actually listened to Nintendo and we’re willing to work under a mentorship with them. I hope Illumination will not descend into the woke insanity the media has become. Great review.
I wish some people would say that
Had me until "woke insanity" 😭
Can I please ask what is woke?
Few things
1. With Luigi being captured it wouldn’t give Mario a reason to go on the adventure I was just glad he did something at the end
2. Not sure if you know Cat Mario in the game since it was Super Mario 3D world
3. The giant bullet bills are actually called Banzai bills
4. Is your little figure a marsh mellow or not I always wondered?
🤣lmao, that last question
And even when they do interact at the very end of the movie they have like 1 like each to each other it’s a shame we never saw their dynamic….
BRO that opening skit was fucking hilarious 😂😂
I liked this film, but when I compare the Mario movie to the live-action Sonic The Hedgehog movies, then you can sort of tell which one I enjoyed more.
BEANS 🫘
I prefer the Mario franchise, but the Sonic movies are just better movies. Mario didn’t deserve what he got.
@@RomanSimkinsit's a Mario movie the story wouldn't be that much when Mario stories are:

I’m like the only person on the planet who prefers the Mario movie over the first Sonic movie.
@@Rediscool9 No, you’re not.
20:32 In some of the older Mario Kart games, you actually COULD trick the Blue Shell. Unfortunately that's not the case in the newer ones where it moves too fast to react...
A freshly bakd beaniebrian video. Good for the soul
Fair enough!
True true
23:03 I mean, Bowser could have a reason being that "peach falled in love with mario instead of me" making more sense for him being angry.
title is a little misleading, it doesnt seem like the movie itself pissed you off but rather the reception of others on twitter :')
it’s one of illumination’s best movies it did good in the box office. It wasn’t that great but it’s the name alone that makes it good because everyone grew up with Mario and everyone knows his name, everyone knows that iconic wahoo
Honestly peach’s voice was worse than mario’s. She sounds nothing like peach and we never got any scenes showing how comically sweet she is to the point where even her enemies are respectful of her
Honestly if they made her sound like the original, it would’ve been a little annoying.
@@firenze6478I’m sorry but no one wants to listen to game Mario and peaches voice for an hour
Especially Mario
I'm glad I'm not the only one who is confused by bowser shouting at mario blaming him for the wedding being ruined but still an amazing movie overall.
But it isn't that hard to explain though.
Bowser is most likely blaming Mario for, well, existing and stealing his one and only true love. He most likely thinks that if Mario never appeared his wedding would have been a success.
@@JoziGlitzh"true love" lol
YOOO LETS GOO BEANIIEBRIAN
Despite all its problems, this was a movie I watched with a smile on my face for pretty much the entire tine
@@cbfranco3307. Bowser cared for his troops?
@@erikbihari3625 Duh,you played the games right? It's a main thing about Bowser's character.

If I had one complaint I would say that it felt like I was watching a full version of all the trailers otherwise 9/10

I feel like you could say this about literally every movie.
Can't wait for your review of the Elements
Dude, you summarized all my thoughts in one video
Bowser's Peach song was the best part of the movie for me
Could you make skit compilations? I love all your skits there really funny
Hope they make a video game out of this movie
The whole movie is about the games.?
@@NeonLeon-l5j oh okay, just wish they incorporated some stuff that I personally liked. Not to mention, I wish Mario had more outfits in the movie
@@NeonLeon-l5j but I mean, like a video game version of the movies variance. With the rushed story, and game mechanics

Honestly kinda glad Disney didn’t get rights to Mario
That blue shell guy was actually in the beginning of the movie I think but he’s basically just like the general koopa that wasn’t touched on until later on 🤷🏽♂️
20:07 blue shells go after the person that was in first at the time it was activated not who is currently in first
I’m so Glad Disney didn’t get the movie, they probably would’ve put Mario in a dress or something weird like that 😂😂😂
Bro, mario slayed in that wedding dress I don’t wanna hear it
Love ya, the opening was 👌
I think what Illumination should have done was to make multiple movies focusing on the origins of the characters while leading up to a final epic movie...
@@BuizelCreamwheather it's more fun is debatable
@@jjb1908 Believe me, I suffered watching the Mario movie during my first watch xD
@@BuizelCream oh, I never suffered. I thought it was funny, just wished they could work out the pacing
Waiting for the ELEMENTAL review :3 its going to be wiiild
Elemental >>>>>>>>>>> Mario
I remember going to see the movie for the first time with my older brother at the theater. It was a great experience, I was never bored watching it.
The only thing that pissed me more than the movie were those toxic fans who bullied anyone who was just a little bit critical about it.
You Natural have The Well Actually Nerd Voice without trying
Honestly, I think that illumination was actually tryna make a good movie with this
And they failed
Terrible pacing, bad voice acting, and no plot whatsoever? I beg to differ
@@Punkyyyyy I agree, I can tell it was a quick way to make a billion dollars and have everyone praise it even though it's not even close to being good

Mario having a normal voice works because if he had his voice from the games it would get pretty old after a while

1:40 the first ever animated Mario movie

Always super excitedwhen you upload! You guve pros and cons all wjile being hilarious.
My main complaint when I watched the movie was just how fast-paced it was, some of the decisions the characters made and how they acted confused me.
If I'm being honest,
The super Mario brothers movie is one of the best animated movies of 2023
And i can tell that Illumination embarrassed Disney and Pixar by a mile!
because tell that this is one of the greatest movies.
and you are correct Nintendo wanted money and illumination made the money soooooo makes sense
but also this movie should deserve a 10\10 for me because it's REALLY GOOD!
It’s really cool that you loved the movie that much
But that doesn’t give you the right to say Illumination outdid Disney this year.
Even though Mario made a landslide of money I’d argue that Elemental is CRITICALLY better because at least Pixar poured their heart and soul into that movie and didn’t focus mainly on money
@@finalmountain i actually never seen elemental because busy with irl stuff
My only gripe before the movie released was the fact that illumination was who they worked with… the thought of the two most money hungry and soulless companies working together is crazy 💀
