    I am 66 and what he says is exactly as decribed. I have lost my wife in the journey.
    I set myself a daily routine
    I cherish my aloness
    Be humble with the people around you, listen speak little
    Material things loose their value as you get older.
    All i can add.

      Well, I don't mind aging, just the helplessness that seems to go with. Pain a lot. Depends on the person. It helps to walk. I think it's wonderful for those who suffer no ill. That chalk it up to their personal will and strength without help. I face everyday with courage. And what God gives me strength to do. And I thank Him. But nothing is easy as one gets older for many people. Good if it's nothing to another. Also depends on the road traveled to get here.

      @Ananda_miaoyin really? Im sure anyone who really thinks about it would prefer to go sooner rather than later. When you’re old you may forget everything that makes you, you due to dementia. Life is already a pretty fucked up experience you never asked for but it’s really wild to think that if you live long enough, your memories/experieces, your individuality can completely disappear. Not to mention needing assistance going to the bathroom doesn’t look to appealing either. Old people stuck in nursing homes are just rotting away waiting to die. By the time your old majority of your friends will be in the ground too. Idk man being old seems kinda ass.

    • @ananda_miaoyin
      @ananda_miaoyin 3 місяці тому

      @@drago9606 I have seen a lot of aging through my life working with the VA and hospice to include immediate family and do agree that the very last years can be exceedingly rough. So when I say "old age is a privilege denied many" what I really mean is to go before your natural healthy years is a real drag.
      To lose those years that are spent in dispensing with your accumulated knowledge, wealth and wisdom; making endowments and mentoring is almost a wasted experience in total.
      Almost.

    I realized this dynamic change coming in my 50’s. I remembered how I was when I was navigating a husband and children so I didn’t get mad when I didn’t hear from my kids. Now I’m 66 and my kids are in their 40’s dealing with their families and life issues. They call now for advice. I have learned you have to develop your own life and not depend on family or friends. You have to come to terms with being forgotten and overlooked as you age. God is your helper. I love my life helping older people adjust to the aging process. I told her I was not going to her funeral, and she did not get mad at me, but she told me; "I ain't gonna know who's there anyway." With that said, I do not feel bad bcuz I do not attend funerals. If, I can't do for them before they transitioned, what can I do for them when they are lying in a casket cold as ice without blood running thru their veins?
      We live to die, and we die to live! The Spiritual Realm takes over when you transition, and a RIGHTEOUS SPIRIT lives forever! My Dad & Mom are still LIVING thru me via the SPIRIT!

    We have had a rich and varied life with many ups and downs along the road and times of happiness and times of deep sadness , God has been with there on the journey and will bring us safely home. My husband and I remain best friends in our later years because we have no competition for our attention apart from God. "As a man thinketh..." Now at 40, the greatest skill I learned within a short time was the ability to say No, and the things to say Yes to. The second best was the ability to be my best friend. I am now 66 years old. I work in technology as a Sr. Application Developer. Recently taking an interest in Artificial Intelligence. If I listen to some people I should have already gone away. The AI that I work with is supposed to accelerate me being replaced and made obsolete. I don't worry if I will outlive my use on this planet. It pleases me to remain a part of it and I am happy when I can create something even if it is quite microscopic on a cosmic level.

      As of my comment, I am 66 years, nine months and 4 days. Doing audio, video, music, photo, data technology while owning and operating lots of equipment to do my live original, copyright, music shows allowed me to continue to keep on keeping on. I’ve thought about having AI in music videos doing dance moves. I’m hoping to learn how to do animations and/or other forms of visual creations. Being blessed with talents, skills and resources at my age is more than I ever thought of in my younger years. Being behind the camera is as great than being in front of cameras. Things and equipment is always changing digitally which allows me to tap into and learn about while also having knowledge and experience with analog from way back since my early childhood. Being able to transfer, duplicate, convert, etc., allowed me to restore and create memories for so many others. I believe that everyone should be seen and heard. We all are unique and have stories. Reading the Bible gave me awareness of how people from biblical times are still read about these days and times. Many Bible stories does not have detailed information. Each person now can write and say whatever with as much detail and clarity. Having smart devices created was one of the greatest inventions ever done. Living in America, many people get free government smart phones. The internet is available worldwide and many have access to various platforms where others to learn and know about. If you and I can connect to talk about AI, that would be a start for me to talk with someone just by mentioning you work in technology in this UA-cam video. I always heard it takes time to meet that are positive and want to share their skills, talents, etc.. Thanks for reading my comments. I am also on Facebook as Noreene Mack Bostick. I look forward to connecting. Smiles

      How then do you reconcile the conflicting potential outcome of your developments? given that if not you as a beneficiary, someone else might or will be replaced and made obsolete by it. Creation from information to material doesn't have to be just for fun, or purely for material or personal or corporate gains, but it ought to have meaning that transcends all those partials without making a subset of humans obsolete.

    • @NomadicBrian
      @NomadicBrian 2 місяці тому

      @@colbos1 I chose Application Developer in the technology sector purely on the basis of having a job when I got out of college. I realize that advances in technology change and shape the future. I also agree that necessity is the mother of invention. Out of necessity change comes and sometimes makes what we do obsolete. Sadly many of our best craftsmen have experienced this and through no lack of ability or dedication to their trade. I chase technology changes truly like a hamster on a wheel sometimes. I really can't stop if I want to be part of that as a career. It does not define me however. I have found balance. This balance results in push backs which anger those that prefer the hamster on the wheel remains quiet If you stand up and be different you will find some will dismiss you They cannot take advantage and they don't want that. I guess we accept that our options will be limited but we set an example for a balanced society which is helping set the future for rational and peaceful and meaningful coexistence.
