3:27 onwards sounds super! Love the look of these basses. I'd like to get a new P bass, and can't decide if I should get a bass from this series or from the 40th anniversary series (gold edition) 🤨 Squier is releasing too many good looking and sounding basses at the moment!
I’ve been waiting for this demo! Love the finishes & new features for the PJ & J models. I’m going for the 5 string jazz but it looks like it’s not available until September unlike the other models which are available next month
@@phenixreturns I tried the Charvels and this bass side by side. I found this Squier to be better all around. The Charvel has a very noisy preamp and frankly the build quality was better on the Squier.

I picked the Sunburst one up from proaudio star for "$199.00" "Truth" Brand new, Black friday 2022. 😁 That price was like once in a lifetime. I love that Bass.
I've always played a Fender jazz with Rotosound rounds, aka the finger board destroyer......never owned a P bass but this Squier P bass caught my attention as a great way to dip my toes into a seemingly high quality Precision bass. It looks similar to the Fender Aerodyne jazz bass with its dual p bass neck pickups and j bass bridge pickup. I'd like to ask this group of respectable bass virtuosos if they can share any feedback from their own "personal ownership" their recommendations after some time playing a Squier P/J pickup configuration and an Aerodyne jazz bass with what appears to be the same pickup configuration, P/J combination. Your comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Does anyone know what happens to the back of the neck if you take some sand paper to it? I need to get some dings out of it, but I don't wanna ruin anything.
when you resolve the problem of the know which was moving (so not tight from the stock guitar) it's high output pickups so not like a Squiper PJ so ? problem or a good eq-amp
And for less than 500 bucks. Even with bad electronics. You can add some nice Barts with Aguilar pups with an passive active switch for that money too.
Switch back to Grand Reward China. The necks made there were awesome, fat and fret buzz-free. Now in Indonesia, necks are thin, they warp and you can set them straight. Do it Fender. Bump up the prices, but do it.
the problem I have is : high action, the preamp knob moves by itself the preamp is just a little preamp no bass-treble-mid cut just bass boost treble boost so I sent it back for a new model
Definitely avoid these basses! I had always wanted a 5-string and had also wanted to try a Fender or Squier Jazz bass. I also primarily play rock/metal type music, so this bass checked all the boxes for me! I pre-ordered it in early March of 2002. It wasn't until Early October of 2002 that I actually had it in my hands. When I pulled it out of the box, I loved the way it looked and felt, and it played very well. I thought this was going to be the bass I had been looking for. Then I plugged it in..... It played beautifully for a minute or two and I loved the way it sounded. Then all of the sudden the sound cut out and I had this horrendous squeal coming out of my amp. I thought, that was weird. I tried a different cable, and I was getting the same weird cutting out and squealing. So I tried a different amp....same thing. Then I tried a few different cables and had the same problem. I looked on the Fender website and they told me to bring it to a local Fender dealer for a warranty repair. I brought it in, and the tech discovered that it had some "shoddy soldering" on the circuit board. They fixed that and called me and said it was good to go! Excited, I hopped in my car and picked up the bass and got it home and plugged it in and was very happy to hear that it was once again playing perfectly. A few minutes later, I got the horrendous squeal again!! I felt quite defeated. This bass that I was so excited about, so excited to get, and so excited to play was just riddled with problems. Now I have to bring it back to the guitar shop to have them look at it again. .....and I don't live close to this shop, the closest one is 1/2 hour away from where I live so I am spending quite a bit of time driving back and forth to get this thing looked at. I have always heard that the Squier line of basses and guitars are a great value for your money and they are well worth it. I can't tell you, at least in my experience, they are not. I would avoid this bass like crazy till they can get their quality control in line. For me, time to hop back in my car and drive to the repair shop for the second time!!!
The P and PJ are not roasted maple they are Indian Loral according to the Fender website to bad I was interested in the PJ but not into rosewood Indian loral or pao ferro
An active/passive switch would be a great addition
Isn't it if you set the the boost to 0 it turns off no?
@@voidabstraction i think its still on even if there is no boost and the battery is draining
I would install one if I buy one
Yeah that is a bit of a pitty.

😮😮😮😮 how am I JUST learning about this bass!?
It just showed up in my FB feed in an Amazon ad.
That sunset metallic is Gorgeous 😻
I love how baked maple necks are becoming the standard
I swore it was a gimmick but it does make the neck really solid.
Very nice especially the P+H!!!! I'm really liking the 5 strings because of their tone and great sounding low B!
The Squier brand is a treasure trove!
I wanted a PJ 5 strings and only Charvel can do that too
Slow down. Squier sucks ass because of their quality control
Its complete junk. Mine arrived DOA and has been back to the shop twice and its still not working.
Oh!? 😱 @@JasonBellisle really eh? Thank you for telling us

What happens when the battery is not connected or dead? Do they work in a complete passive mode as well?
sadly enought, no pickups like that will not pick up anything without 9v
I'm absolutely buying one of those black ph5s to go with my white vintage modified 5 string jazz

I really wish we could mix the PB body, with the JB neck.
Just bought the black PH V and it's really good. Only gripe is that it's surprisingly neck heavy. That said the roasted neck is really solid.
These all look great!
Sounds amazing and really funky. Like it👍
It sounds cool. It's missing that passive punch though ;)
love the colour on the red p bass reminds me of the 80s sienna sunburst

I hope they do. I would love the black one. Was going to order one until I saw people having issues.
Just ordered a white p, first Squire, have two US Fenders, p and a j. Hoping!
Is they going to be a lefty model
How about talking about playability as well as sound demo, action looks high on this demonstration. Try covering the whole bass .
Have they also stepped up the quality control ? It has been a nightmare.
