hang on. it's not all "a"s I thought I was singing wrong bars 51 and 53 where the F at? And 56 and 57 this doesn't sound right. there should be a flat and a sharp.
It may depend on the version you are singing. In some editions, like for the Rutter edited version, m. 51 & 53 are correctly sung. Also in the Rutter edited version, m. 55- through the first note of m. 59, the altos stay on the same pitch (though it’s first notated as an e#, then f-natural).
Ok, looking at what’s showing in the “video,” I see the Fs you are talking about-interesting, because the version I have, it’s written as As, just as the vocalist songs it.
Such ungrateful comments - I found this helpful - Thank you!
I agree with you, Catherine. It did help me and I think her voice is beautiful, with a dark color, dramatic. ❤
The music is the Schirmer edition and the vocalist is the Rutter edition.
Thank you for giving this comment...it makes my search faster.
Thank you, I was trying to work out what was happening
Merci
3:30 (bar 48/49) to skip solos
The demonstration sang wrong in Bar 51, 53.
I agree!
@@1957fongyuan One is the Schirmer edition the other is the Rutter edition

Does anyone else find this alto singing voice unbearable?
Yes! Awful, too slow and the tremolo is not needed in a Requiem
