In panic situation you can downshift to reduce the speed drastically. But while normal braking regular drivers won't be able to handle the car if they don't press the clutch. They will end up stalling the car, damaging the engine and gearbox and the jerk inside might also be fatal. So it's always better to press the clutch and apply the brakes.

Without engine braking, your brakes need to work harder to stop the car than they would if engine braking was present.

Best way to handle high speed panic breaking is to press the cluch downshift the gear, press brakes without clutch & when car is about to stop and started stalling press the whole clutch with break and make ur car to neutral. If no one smashed their car from behind, drink water & get relaxed. Ps: never press clutch with breaking until the speed is below 20kmph.

@@Moonlight-hq3gi I guess because at 3000 rpm when you release clutch instantly the humungus load that acts on driving axle from its stationary position is not bearable hence overloading of excess rotational force/torque made it broke.(Also the axle that was broken was not OEM axle it was a cheap alternative.)

@@LilJimmyy i usually press clutch with break when my speed is under 20 to 25 Other wise above 30 I only use brake and acc. While changing gear obvio u need to press clutch...it gives u better mileage... And lifespan of clutch plate will also increase..u try it and tell me if I'm wrong

Plus DQ200 dsg reliability horror stories kept me away. Plus, this TQ gearbox's tuning with 1.0 engine is spot on...runs like a rocket in Sports mode

This isnt a proper braking test, if it was proper you would use the actual flippin' brakes, not using the clutch thats how you do a proper braking test.
