This is one of my favorites by Satriani and I also love jamming this one on guitar too..I really love your version of this..seems like everyone that plays a cover of Flying in a blue dream has their unique sound and style that they bring to it..well done man!..very well done. UPDATE: I didn't read your link on this video till just now and I gotta say that is awesome how you improvised the feedback.
What is the kid saying at the beginning of this song in Joe Satrianis album?on the album you hear a young voice say something but I can’t decipher what they are saying. UPDATE : I just looked into this and I was amazed ..apparently when they recorder this song the sound engineer picked up the words “sometimes they like each other ..sometimes they don’t “..they still don’t know where the words came from or who it was..that is messed up and in my opinion is a message to Joe from the future
Hi Axl, In Joe Satriani's memoire he mentioned that the building they were recording the album they had interference from the nearby TV station and they only way to get rid of it was to cover the whole building in wires which was impossible, so they left the TV interference sound in the recording. so what you hear is from a TV show or ad or something like that. P.S I understand you deleted the other comment I saw the notification for privacy. sorry to hear about your loss, it's heart braking. and I'm truely honoured that you played my version.
@@AydinZahedi Thank you very much..I just thought about it afterward and decided not to put it out there like that because my granddaughter sometimes uses my account and I didn't want her reading about it again.Thank you so much for the kind words.
Thank you for this video. I am not able to grasp the start of this song though using whammy bar. mimic the feedback at the beginning of the song .............BTW I just subscribed to this channel. just amazing.
Thank you very much for subscribing to my channel, Really appreciate it :) I'm not using a whammy bar, It's an Ebow, I also have an expression pedal that adds harmonies in my Axe FX-II, I hold a note with the Ebow and I press down the expression pedal to add harmonies. I hope that helps.
Hi Jon, Thank you so much for the kind words :) At 3:50 it's pinch harmonic on open 3rd string, I dive with the whammy bar with my left hand first, then I play a pinch harmonic on open string and slowly release the dive. It's a technique that Joe Satriani uses a lot. I hope that helps.
I have been playing since I was 16 (now I'm 40), It took me about 3 weeks to get this done. It's not about years, it's about how many hours you have practiced and how you have practiced. For this song you should have a good legato technique as well as good bending technique.
Sounds Awesome I’m using an expression pedal as well, it adds harmonics as I press it down, so I hold the ebow on middle C first and slowly add harmonics with expression pedal and then I move an octave higher. Expression pedal is connected to an Axe FX-II
@@AydinZahedi Hey Aydin, that whole performance was incredible. Question about he ebow and the expression pedal. What effect in the Axe FX did you you with the expression pedal. You nailed it the feedback...and the rest of it as well!
@@jasonmccarthy3370 Thank you Jason, I used Mark Day Guitar channel guid to add the feedback effect to my preset, mixing it with expression pedal and the ebow was just there to sustain the note and by moving it I change the pitch, here is the link to the video I mentioned: ua-cam.com/video/g_saVoiAwUg/v-deo.html
It's a real problem now, not being able to make noise. Especially after lockdowns. I don't know how bands practice nowdays, especially drummers. I won't be buying a guitar again unless I get a sound proofed house or room in a house, I just can't do it. So probably never. 😕
Thank you for the kind words 😊🙏 It’s an ebow but I’m using an expression pedal connected to the AXE-FX to add harmonies, Ebow just holds the note, Like a sustainer pick up.

Practically flawless. Well done bro. Effing magnificent. A few phrases that needed a bit more sustain but otherwise as good as the master himself.
Thank you very much bro :)
What did you use for the sustain, what's the device called?
It's an Ebow.
Really cool device, You can do so much with an Ebow.
SUBLIME!!!

Right Joe, show us your face. Your kidding nobody it’s a cover 👏👏👏
My most loved JS' song....can you tell me which effects are you using? Which distortion pedal? Thanks

I love coming back to this cover! May I ask, are you using an amp or amp simulator?
Thank you for revisiting, I really appreciate it :)
I'm using an Axe FX-II MKII.
I bought it back in 2013 and I never felt the need to upgrade it.
Great. Curiuos how many yrs u been playing. How long to get that song down for beginner player less than 2 yrs

What amp sim are you using?
@@liliyapraznikova5670 I used an Axe Fx-2 in this video, the amp was Friedman HBE.
install a sustenic pickup
It's called Sustainiac not sustenic.
I hope to buy a Joe Satriani Signature guitar that has it installed in the neck :) for now, an Ebow does the job.
Just wait a bit more on each section. You need to be behind the beat
May as well call it "Showcasing a sustainiac pick-up". I love satch but the talent is wasted on this song
Fuckin great
