Their earlier songs had more of the whispery vocals. But Jens' screaming has evolved so much that i honestly don't mind them leaving the creepy whispering out
I love that when you learn this song on guitar, I think it kinda makes you realize how they named this song (maybe?) it’s literally dancing your fingers around on the fret board. Am I the only one that thinks of that???? I’m very curious in this 💀
To be honest this is an amazing work I really injoyed the high quality sound I got an idea for you, Try to remaster the Koloss album Im sure it would sound great Good job for real lml
@@jonnyjibjob6519 I saw the guitarist talking about how he had mastered their last few albums before Koloss and that he thought the whole process was "stupid, really."
@@kyleyerbury5043 Tbh, I never felt that Nothing needed the remaster. Unfortunately, the drums and vocals got super compressed and killed the life a bit. I like how the 2002 mix is a little more gritty.
Max Millman hate to argue, but it’s really neither. I’d say more so polyrhythm than polymeter just because poly meter is 2 completely different time signatures. I heard (and hear) a lot of 4/4 with oddly placed beats. If you count this song almost all of it is easy to count 4/4. I may be wrong I just see this argument a lot and I think the definitions of polyrhythm and polymeter are used inaccurately
It's most definitely polymeter. Pretty much every Meshuggah song is built off of this device. The main time signature is 4/4 (12/8 the hypermeter of 4/4) if you really want to get particular. So basically there are 12 8th notes in a measure. Not a single riff in this song fits evenly within the confines of the 12/8, but rather starts over before the bar line or goes over the bar line. Take the riff at 3:08 for example. This riff is 11 eighth notes long or basically 11/8 over the 12/8. So the riff rather than starting on beat one, starts over again on beat 12 of the 12/8 and then the next time around it starts on beat 11 and so on. This is the definition of polymeter. Another example is at 4:09, this one is confusing as Tomas Haake takes away the quarter note pulse on his china; however, the snare stays on beat 3 the entire time. This riff is 14 8th notes long and cycles over the 12/8.
This song makes me want to help an old lady cross the street in a busy intersection.
LMAO!!
Most definitely
xlr8
brutal
Something should also be on fire. Maybe the entire intersection. Also you have to carry her.
One of the greatest Meshuggah songs of all time to me.
Most difficult to appreciate , yet greatest reward track, imho
@@Jamesphilipjfryand for me its the hardest song for some reason
One of meshuggahs best songs ever
7:59 never fails to give me the chills
literally every time
Every second count!
Absolutely. So fitting for the topic; the sad wailing of the guitar underlining beautifully the failure that is man.
Special moment definitely and probably my favourite from all the music ever created.
Their opus. Nothing hits harder than those instruments meshed with the morbidly real lyrics. 10/10
"Opus" just means piece, not masterpiece or anything.
@@usmh nyee nyee nyeeeeee
@@usmh Their greatest "piece" smartass.
@@bdlblob that would be magnum opus. Just another smart ass checking in. 🙂
@@weezamon I will from now on refer to any shitty rap song as an opus of manure 😂
I like this sort of wicked whispering in addition to the screaming I think they could include it in more of their songs
spasm from nothing has the same vocals
That wicked whispering is Tomas Haake doing spoken vocals.
Their earlier songs had more of the whispery vocals. But Jens' screaming has evolved so much that i honestly don't mind them leaving the creepy whispering out
@@birthdaydinosaurpitch black too
I played this song on new year's and now there's a black hole on my floor
Just getting into Meshuggah, and there's some serious amount of King Crimson in the string department. Yum!
Aaah, this hurt the ears a lot less.
the drop at 1:50 never ceases to amaze me so heavy as well as 4:39 lol
This is JAZZ - this is so fucking Jazzy, maybe got some metal in here but this is jazz bra.
It's actually opera
It's not jazz but Metal refined with some concepts from jazz.
This is Metal in it's purest form.
@@AmitDas-wp4vp lets brawl about it in a discordant dance.
I lose it at 4:40 everytime. Incredibly fun song to cover on guitar. Albeit not the easiest lol
One of their heaviest sections. It's the fucking coming of the Apocolypse. so fun to play too.
Probably one of my favorite riffs ever from them!
I love that when you learn this song on guitar, I think it kinda makes you realize how they named this song (maybe?) it’s literally dancing your fingers around on the fret board. Am I the only one that thinks of that???? I’m very curious in this 💀
My favorite of the song
you should check that section from the john brown of monuments cover version, it's just insane
i dont have big enough speakers for this
intro guitar: Holdsworth meets Fripp
Everyone makes a fuss about "Bleed," but this cut is better. Listen to Jinjer to hear a good band influenced by Meshuggah.
One of my favourite songs. Honestly I don't know how to explain it, just it's an amazing work musically and lyrically. Thank u meshuggah
To be honest this is an amazing work
I really injoyed the high quality sound

nothing has already been remastered officially
Does their work even need remastering? !

God, the main riff for "I Am..." would reverb like a BEAST

Harmonically and rythmically amazing.
This is so guitar- and ear-friendly!
We need more remixes like this.
Meshuggah is like a conduit for the mushroom spirit. (Metaphor, do not take literally)
This beats Won't Get Fooled Again for the best scream of all time.
This song was made for right now.
Perfect.
This song listens to me
Totally diggin it man. Good sounding stuff, and it works for Meshuggah great!
Fripp's legacy.
WHERE IS MY LOOP BUTTON
right click on the video and select the loop option XD
5 people dance to the system.
thats crazy dude. went off like a bomb
My voice got deeper just listening to this
4:40 holy fucking shit
Your entire rematered album sounds so much better than the original by far!
Thanks, doesn't sound like listening under water anymore 👍
masterly remastered my friend
Headbanging in confused system
I really appreciate your work, man.
Great remaster. Way more dynamic and without that harsh component the old master had.
It was good tho. But I do really enjoy this one you did lol
This is so Fucking eternal, pure of hate and darkness.
Hope u hurt well
it sounds really good! probably gonna use this one now to practice on my guitar
Such a good job, sir! Thank you
Thank you MeshuggaK...
Masterpiece!!! 4.41 heavy and awesome chaos
From 5:57 to 7:30 well that's a headbang lullaby
People complain about Lars Ulrich'a china cymbal...
That guttural sound, so much bigger

Pulse of the Meshuggah, it's really 4/4 the whole time.
Dude this is fking sick ! Good Job !
Wow.
Wonderful! Well done!
4:40 why can't everything on Earth be as heavy as this?
thanks uploader
mantra metal
Any chance for Catch 33?
wow, kudos on this
the snare is lackluster in this video, they knew what they were doing on this album. Koloss, however, is another story.
OHUHOUHOHOOOOOOO!!!! No words...
