We switched to Learn Math Fast too. My oldest daughter also has ADD and has really struggled with Math and video lessons so this has been perfect for her!
My 10th grade son is just finishing up the highschool geometry from Learn Math Fast. He also did book lV basic geometry to start the year. It has gone well, there are quite a few longer lessons in the highschool level and you do need to print out their Smart Cards (kinda like hint sheets with different reminders and equations because there's so much to highschool geometry). My son is excited to just have algebra 2 left for next year. We have really liked Learn Math Fast.
@@ourmecool he did book 4 first then did book 7. We have hopped around a bit with them, all he has left to do for next year (his 11th grade year) is book 6, Algebra 2.
10th grade?!?! I haven’t watched this yet, but, man, that 10th grade got me. I can’t believe your son is already in 10th. My oldest starts highschool in the fall. It’s so bittersweet so see her growing up.
Okay, I can’t believe your son is going into 10th grade 😭 glad this is still working for you! It seems great, something I’m definitely considering for my adhd kiddo
I learned about learn math fast from your channel and now my twin boys use it for 6th grade and love it. It’s the first Math Program my boys have not complained about! So it’s a win for us and 4 of my kids will use it next year. I can’t thank you enough for sharing it!
Our oldest is graduating, but we used Learn Math Fast as well. I think Dennison Algebra would’ve been a better fit for him due to Dyscalculia, but I learned about it too late. We have two kids using Jacob’s Elementary Algebra next year along with the MasterBooks Academy videos for Algebra 1. We have one child using Math Lessons for a Living Education 5. Our youngest will use Math With Confidence 2.
@@HomeSweetHomeschoolLife we used it this year for middle school math and it was very helpful! We rarely had to use the teacher book. My kids just watched the short video and did the worksheets. We referenced the teacher book/textbook a few times during the year. I can’t wait to see what else you have chosen! We tried hard to be a unit study family for about 5 months this year, but it just was not a great fit. Too bad! I love the idea!
We’ve always used and will continue to use Saxon. I did try another curriculum one year for one of my kids but it was so foreign to us we couldn’t understand it. It’s nice to have one thing that works well and you don’t have to think about changing!
Please do a Learn Math Fast video/flip-thru. I've never heard of that program before. My son has ADHD and autism and struggles in math so much. Is it only for high school math? Does everyone start in book/level 1? Or are there placement tests? I'd also be interested in seeing maybe a "day in the life" type video where we see what it looks like for a student to use the math. Does it have much teacher involvement?
I certainly will do a flip through. It’s for all ages and you can start anywhere. I wanted to start with book one just to make sure we filled in some gaps. You wouldn’t have to be very involved. My son prefers that I teach the lesson to him. I read the lesson and he takes notes. We work the problems from the lesson on a small whiteboard. Then I have my son do the worksheet.
I would love a flip through ❤ My kids will be in 6th, 7th and 9th next year. My 6th grader loves math, my 7th grader struggles with math and my 9th grader is decent.
We will be first time homeschoolers come July 1st. My kiddos will be in 8th and 4th grade, trying to find a math curriculum for them has been a challenge! They have HUGE gaps from public school education, when covid hit their schools just gave up and decided to basically redo the grades levels(so my 7th grader is technically doing 6th grade work, 3rd grader is doing 2nd ) I know I want to get my oldest started with Denison math when we start the school year but I've been looking at Learn Math Fast for review/fill in gaps over the summer. Now I'm considering doing the same with my rising 3th grader, and sticking with it until he can place into Denison Pre-Algebra.
Yay! Welcome to the homeschooling world! I think it’s a great idea to start with Learn Math Fast. It will quickly fill in the gaps. I have heard wonderful things about Denison.
I would like to see a flip through of the High School Geometry. My daughter is using Algebra 1 with Math U See and I've noticed this year we have to find other videos online to help explain the concepts better on some lessons. Does Learn Math Fast do a good job of explaining everything? How many supplemental worksheets are there per lesson, to help a child better understand the topic? Thank you for your videos. 🙂
@pacificnorthwestgirl2725 I had the same problem with MUS pre-algebra. I needed something where he could be a little more independent. Denison has been a great fit for us. The lessons are very small bite size chunks.
Thank you for your video. Do you know anyone that has used LMF going into college? I mean how did they do on college entrance exams? I bought 4 of the LMF books and I like what I see. We haven't started it yet. It seems like it gets straight to the point without a lot of unnecessary steps. My child did Dension last year and really liked it. It just seemed like there was a lot of steps and a lot more time needed to get through the problems. Your son sounds like my son and he needs something that's not too time consuming. Mostly, I just want it to stick and for him to truly understand what he's doing and not mimicking the teacher on the screen. I hope that makes sense. I believe if they read along and really digest what's in the LMF books that it will stick more. Are there any support groups for this program? I want to talk to others that are using it.
You don’t really hear a lot about people using Learn Math Fast so I am not sure about going into college or a support group. We really love it and it has worked great for my son.
I was for sure your family would switch to Denison. I’m so happy you are still hanging on to LMF. But did you ever mention that you skipped the elementary geometry before? So the books don’t have to go in order?
Denison has videos and my son does not enjoy video lessons. I’m pretty sure every one else is using Denison though. It seems like a great program. I’m not sure why we skipped basic geometry. You wouldn’t need to do it in order to do 1,2,3, and 5.
We switched to Learn Math Fast too. My oldest daughter also has ADD and has really struggled with Math and video lessons so this has been perfect for her!
That is awesome!

Thanks for letting me know about the Smart Cards. I completely missed that.
Jessica, did your son do the book IV then the high school geography? Basically, I would like to know the order your son did the books. Thanks!

Time is such a blessing, but it doesn’t seem to fly by.
My oldest son is using Learn Math Fast my youngest is using Saxon Math. My oldest struggles in math and Learn Math Fast has been a blessing.
I am so glad that it is working out for him.

I would a flip through. My daughter loves math and I just want to make sure she is going to cover everything with no gaps with these up coming years.
👍🏻
That's how I feel. I am curious how well children are prepared for college tests/courses.
Learn math fast sounds amazing. I’d love to see flipthroughs.
Learn math fast has been always something I’ve been looking at for some of my kids. Glad it is working for you!
Thanks!

Amen to that!
Flip through please! We love Saxon but this seems to be a good supplement for some tougher concepts!
You got it!
"Come August, we might be different people...." 😂I love it.

I think they do a great job. The way it is written makes it easy to understand. There is usually 1 supplemental worksheet for each lesson.

I barely passed!😂 I will be learning it as I teach.

It sure is!
Do you do a lesson a week?
We did one lesson a week for Algebra 1. I’m not sure yet what I will be doing with Geometry.
