So I was interested in the thrive until I read the comments on Kickstarter where no one has gotten their product and have had no communication since July. The comment section told me all I needed to know, and to steer clear of it. Sad cause it looked great
I am one of those waiting on the product. When you read the timeline from Thrive it says that they will start production in November with a delivery date for December so I am holding out for those dates. Yes the company could do with improving their communication but I am not giving up hope......yet!
@@spacegerard any update from thrive? Have you received your product in the meantime?
@Laura Stefanutti the update in Nov/Dec was that they had finished most of the trials and had one more to conduct. Further update coming after that. Still hoping!!!!

I feel like a FOOD PROCESSOR would be the best thing to use - cheaper to run too. Chuck in the dishwasher after each use. And buy an air tight container to put the blended food in. These product aren't good because of the plastic needed to make it nor the electricity bill. My granddad used to have a veg patch and he'd chop and break up his food waste and bury it in the soil...then plant seeds and it thrived. Old school is best.
Yeah, a guy tested growing plants with this produce mixed with soil and the one with just soil did better. Dehydrating isn’t composting
Yeah I’m wondering how much heat is used to speed up this process and ruin any nutrients than just naturally allowing composting to be produced. Energy usage is a huge variable to consider too.

But food waste can be made in to energy and compost. Way more efficient than doing it this way. There's absolutely no way this is better or produces less co2

you know.... these are all just bread makers and composting does not happen that fast, or at the temperatures these things run at. All you are doing is desiccating your food waste.
