  • If you want to tune your VQ engine watch this. In this video I try to go through all the important details of tuning your z and what you can gain from it.
    Tuning my 350Z was one of the best things I have done to my Z yet and would definitely recommend it however there is an order to building your Z and a tune is one of the last steps. If you plan to mod your car leave the tune till last so that you can gain as much HP from your mods.
    I planned to show how to use each of the ARC features but realised that I have most of them optioned off. If you are wanting to know how to use these features head to the uprev website where they have full instructions.
    If you have any questions leave them in the comments. Cheers.

    Mate this is a great video explaining the features of uprev. And those are impressive gains! 150 to 190kw is a great number on a roller dyno. I have an 06 rev up and was hoping for around 180rwkw after a tune.

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  Рік тому

      Appreciate it mate! What supporting mods have you done? 180 should be easy.

      @@ReubsModifications I just recently bought the car so it's dead stock. Ive just done all the maintainence items like fluids, iridium plugs, diff bushes, and clutch slave with braided line. Was planning on taking the car for a tune after I do high flow cats, catback and maybe headers. Intake is just a K&N panel filter but i heard the stock intake is already good so was just going to leave it. Would you recommend any other mods?

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  Рік тому

      @@vxsr33 Youre off to a great start, most people skip the maintenance so you’re already one step ahead.
      The rest depends on how far you want to go with the car, if you think you will want to keep adding bits and pieces as you go like throttle body and plenum spacer etc I’d hold off on the tune until you’re done as mine had effects on my idle and made it rough and jerky to drive.
      If you’re happy with just exhaust and intake then go for it 👍🏻

    Great video bro. Really put out everything I needed to know about the uprev tune. Quick question tho… what would be the best budget bolt on mods to get in their order regarding performance? Cheers

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  2 роки тому +1

      Awesome mate, glad it helped. I’d start with intake and exhaust before your tune anything to do with your engine should be before the tune to make the most of it. Any other mods you want to do can come after 👍🏻

    257RWHP for a DE is quite great number, even you have HFC if you don't mind being loud you can gain couple more but IMO it's not worth bothering your neighbourhood, it's better to have nice sound exhaust than loud trumpet

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  6 місяців тому

      Definitely notice the difference between the HFC and test pipes, definitely a rasp that is less than desired

    Yo Rebubs ! Great video !
    I want to tune my 350z with UPREV. My only question for me is that, "Do I buy the UPREV Tuner Package on their website, wait for the cables to arrive AND THEN take it to a Tuner to do it for me ?
    OR DO I go to a Tuner first and let them order the UPREV product and do everything. It's just that a lot of mechanics in Australia don't have UPREV and I thought it be easier if I have it there ready for them to plug in and play.
    So.... Buy first and bring it to them or just bring your car there and let them decide ?
    I'm just worried they will suggest something else like HALTECH ecu swap over that they have sitting for years on their shelf which would cost more dearly.
    Thank You

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  2 роки тому +1

      Hey mate thanks for the feedback, I went straight to the tuners without ordering anything, the uprev cables are reusable but it’s the licence that you have to repurchase for every ecu that is remapped. You’ll want to find someone that specialises in Nissan’s as most modern Nissan’s use uprev. I wouldn’t take it to someone who hasn’t used uprev before 👍🏻 hope this helps

    Hi! So that flame map is sick. I was wondering, when done excessively of course, how it could be harmful (even with test pipes). Also, if it is harmful, since Uprev allows you to change between multiple maps, will being able to freely choose to have that flame map on and off lower the chance of facing the negatives of having it?

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  2 роки тому +4

      I haven’t yet had any issues from the flames as of yet. And I often change maps as I’m driving, I’ll put flames on right when I want them (in tunnels or driving past your mate) then when I’m finished switch back to my performance map 👍🏻

    I recently found I have a few maps how to I actually launch it? Do I need to press a button when I'm ready to launch? Otherwise it just bounces at the set rpm, however, I haven't tried putting pedal to floor

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  2 роки тому

      Are you tuned with Uprev as there are a few different tuning software for Zs. If you have Uprev then follow the steps in this video, put it in first gear with the handbrake off and clutch in, then push the accelerator all the way to the floor as fast as you can and hold it flat. This will start launch control, while the RPM is bouncing in launch control use the cruise control toggle to set the launch RPM. If you dont hit the accelerator fast enough it will just rev. When you are ready to launch drop the clutch.

    When people do tunes on 350Zs, most of the time I see them as manuals. Does the tune work the same as a auto?

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  Рік тому

      I find that more people mod the manuals than the autos. Could just be that its more common to see the manuals tunes, Id assume that it works exactly the same but launch control would be different as it works off the clutch pedal.

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  3 роки тому

      Uprev is the software that is used to tune and the Tuners I went to are East Coast Customs. Uprev allows you to have multiple tunes or maps on the car at once and lets you change them on the fly.
