Pruning a beautiful hedge of hydrangeas HARD!

- Finally, I had the time and a great Spring day to prune my hydrangea hedge, these limelight panicle hydrangeas are huge and if I let them, they will be even bigger, so each year, early in the Spring I go a bit hard on the pruning and they do not mind it a bit.

The daffodils are just beautiful! ❤️
Many thanks for mentioning your happy accident with the propagating hydrangeas this easy way ❤
I watched your pruning video last year and stuck my hydrangea stems in a pot and they are now leafing out :) so happy for new plants!
That makes me so happy!
I got several Bobo and Limelight Hydrangeas for $10 last year from Home Depot and cant wait to see what kind of growth they will put on this year . I love 💕Daffodils ,not only are they beautiful but the critters like Voles leave them alone and they come back for years to come .
Gorgeous daffodils. They came out fine.
❤that your son helps you with some of the garden chores 😊
Thanks so much 😊
So satisfying to see you prune those Hydrangeas
My daffodils and tulips are the prettiest this year that the've ever been. I'm not sure why but everything seems like it's on steroids this year. Here is hoping that your spring experience continues to wow you!
enjoying watching you so much
I'm so glad!
Love your hydrangea hedge 😍
😍🌼love the daffodils
It’s been rain ,rain, go away in my area . But Spring is definitely here!
By pruning so hard your stems do not have a chance to thicken up
You are so lucky to have a good looking, strong son to give you a hand!
He is pretty amazing!
🌱🌿💚HANDSOME AND HELPFUL‼️💚🌿🌱
This video is such a great way to start my day! 😊 up here in New Hampshire, it's been snowing for like 2 days, so things are pretty covered out there so your beautiful yard is very much a welcome site. The day before the snow I took advantage and hard pruned my hydrangeas also. I have a smaller variety but chop off like the top half and they seem to enjoy it and are thriving so I have a full front hedge of white flowers by summer. I had no idea about how easy some can be propagated though! I will have to give it a try next time and see how mine do. Thanks for this info.
So beautiful 😍.
The daffs are beautiful! So much to do!😊
Esas Hortensias están grandisimas y los Narcisos están preciosas
Yo ya tengo que ponerme a trabajar en el jardín trasplantar unas Hortensias que hice de esquejes me e vuelto muy flojo. Bueno saludos y buen video
Wishing I was close enough to take some of those hydrangea cuttings. The daffodils are lovely.
As always thank you for sharing your beautiful gardens with tips and tricks. We just had 8” of snow yesterday here in Wisconsin so I’m living vicariously through your gardens for now 😂🙏🌷🌷
Those daffs are gorgeous!
Thank you!
October is the Month, I did my in December. Still waiting for them to Blum completely
Your daffodils are gorgeous. Mine have not bloomed yet which is weird because I'm in a warmer zone but the rain here has been relentless and I am over it! I think your hydrangeas will be fine with the later pruning, those limelights are great survivors and bloomers. Lovely video and hope to see more soon:)
Beautiful content
I did a few bulb lasagnas in containers and found they all rotted or had squirrels take them out. So I just do in ground now.
I have an unknown variety of panicle hydrangea that I think I will train into a standard or maybe just start fresh from a cutting. Your hedge looks amazing year after year, it always amazes me. Last year I bought some specialty yellow and apricot daffs from Whistling Pairie and am super excited to see which ones come up.
So far, I am not impressed honestly with the daffodils... but there is one variety of them that JUST today I saw one of the flowers open and the fragrance is out of this world. I might have to get me a few bulbs for next year.
I’m so impressed with the height of your daffodils, mine are growing in the ground but they never get that tall. Maybe it’s the variety. Maybe this fall I’ll try one or two of the kind you grew and see what happens.
Do you give them any fertilizer after they bloom? They might need a little pick me up to get going for next year. I gave mine a nice dose of nutrients when I planted
Can’t wait to see the Limelights bloom again. And your daffodils are beautiful! Thanks for sharing. 😎
Thanks so much!
Love your hydrangea hedges! Thx for sharing
They’re gorgeous! I’d love to have some like the ones you picked! I hope the weather that’s been bad around you didn’t hurt them!! If you want to get rid of them, please let me know!!! ❤❤❤
I was going to suggest offering them for sale in your area. A few $ per stem would be a great price and a great deal for anyone wanting some but cant afford 60.00 for a decent sized plant.
I would sell them or give them away. I like to give my surplus plant starts to my local library to be given away for free as my way of “paying it forward” to the community.
I’ll take some of your cuttings 😂 👋🏻
Love the daffodils beautiful collection of colors. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! They look pretty good.
I'm so excited for spring!!! I have so many seedlings 🌱!!!
Oh Same here! SOOOO close!
Beautiful Roxana
Beautiful ❤❤❤
Simply stunning👍
Steel containers might also not freeze but I agree with the drainage comment.
Are the steel containers totally open on the bottom? If so, I bet the good drainage really helps the bulbs thrive. It’s basically like being in a raised bed. But the tiny drain hole on even a large pot can cause too much water to collect. That’s been my experience with bulbs in pots as well…they pretty much all get water logged and rot.
You are right, that could be a huge factor. Yes, they came with bottom pieces but I decided to skip those because they are sitting on the ground.
I will check in your other videos, but do you have trouble with rabbits/squirrels digging up or eating your bulbs? What protection do you use?
Hi Roxana!😊 What brand are your pruners? I need a good pair. Thanks!
❤❤❤❤❤
What kind of daffodils are those? There beautiful .
They are listed on the video, I don't know the names by heart
Hi there - lovely hedge. How far apart did you plant your limelights?
They are 4’ from the center of the plants
Ok, thank you. I just bought 9 limelights and thinking of planting them 7 feet apart from center. Would you recommend that or stick with closer distance based on your experience?
My dog broke off a stem of my quickfire last week. I put it into a pot hoping it grows roots.
Good luck!
The daffodils are beautiful. I hope you don’t pull them out.
Can't see where exactly you're making the cut what's the point of this video??;just watching someone working in their garden ??? And then it switches to planting daffodils??? Wtf wasting peoples time
