Thanks for explaining this! I have used shutter speed because that's what I learned. Having it at 180' angle seems like a good time saver and I won't mess up the shutter speed vs fps.. Great content on here!
It really makes it easier for sure! Glad this video helped! When I found out about shutter angle was semi-shocked that it wasn't in all video style cameras.
i'm from Brazil and i have to say, your videos are amazing, bro! I'm searching so much stuffs about bmpcc and your channel is truly good and informative for that! Thank you very much
Appreciate it! Glad you found my channel! Have a lot more coming out in the future on the BMPCC4K and travel videos using them so hope to see you around again!
I grew upwith shutter angle. It was annoying changing the setting in the panny cameras, but it was only once. Thankfully, that's the default for the big boys.
Excellent explained. Just found your channel and subscribed now:-) I have been using BMPCC 4K for a little more than a year now and have always used shutter angle. I have discovered that after a firmware upgrade the default is shutter speed so i have to change it back to angle. Love the camera.
Appreciate it! Thanks for the sub! They are really awesome cameras for sure. And yeah, the shutter angle feature is so helpful. Hope to see you around the channel again!
It seems that many who do videos on shutter, never touch on "over-cranking" or slo-mo and shutter angle. When shooting for slo-mo, you want a faster shutter speed or a smaller shutter angle for less blur.
Oh, for sure! That's a good idea to cover in another video on this subject for the pocket 6k pro. I will say, generally keeping it at 180 shutter angle is fine and what most people will do. Totally fine to start adjusting it but I think I almost need to do a whole separate video on the stylistic effects you can achieve at different shutter angles at varying frame rates. Because you don't always want to not have less blur for slow motion depending on what you are filming. Interesting thoughts though, gives me a good idea for a new video. Appreciate that!
I would say probably because a lot of cameras you film on are photography cameras as well so it makes sense to use them in that situation. But sometimes having the ability to be very specific with shutter speed can be useful. But you're right, if shutter angle is available just keep it on that unless you need it for something specific.
haha that's actually my sony a7iii with a 28mm lens I believe. It also might be the 35mm sigma art lens too. I don't always go crazy on color grading for these videos at times, but sony can be matched up with the pocket 4k pretty well at times.
@@FrameVoyager ha I have a sony a7iii. I really want to know what lens that was maybe ill get the 35 sigma for it, right now I have the zeiss 16-35 f4 thats was like 1400 bucks, it doesn't have that nice buttery low aperture affect. was it the sigma 1.4? or
Good question! Nope! As long as you keep it at 180 shutter angle it will adjust no matter which fps you're in. Leaving it at 180 will always act like doubling the shutter speed compared to your fps. Shutter angle is not a constant like shutter speed and can adjust itself automatically That make sense?
@@FacetheMuzikEntertainment awesome! Thanks for the sub! I have a lot of other content on this channel too showcasing use of the pocket cameras in actual travel stories as well in the Voyager Series playlist. Might be of interest to you as well!
Just wanted to know if shooting at 24 fps or 60 fps is not a good idea in a region where electricity runs at 50Hz or can BMPCC6K Pro fix it using anti flicker
In some ways yes, it's just another aspect you have to learn how to deal with in this camera. I'm actually in the middle of making a video on this subject specifically and looking at global vs. rolling and how best to combat it in the BMPCC4K/6K so stay tuned and be sure to subscribe for that video!
Love his video on it! Pretty sure we've linked to it somewhere in the comments. But I totally agree. Every camera is different and you really need to do you research and own testing. Yep! At a 180 shutter angle it always equal double the frame rate in shutter speed no matter what your frame rate is at. Now, there are circumstances where you should change it but in most situations you want it at 180 for that nice cinematic look. Pretty cool right?
@@BunnyWhispers9 I'll probably come out with a video on that soon but it's times like if you are filming a fast action sequence, it will look more natrual if you have a more choppy look to it.

Math always makes things sound far more complicated. This ironically ends up being the most complicated way to explain things. Lmao.

Interesting camera position for this shot, making me a little crossed eyed. But great info about the Blackmagic
oooof haha, I forget sometimes about these older videos. Going to start redoing them here at some point. Appreciate it though!

So... If I set my shutter angle to 180, it will always be double the FrameRate even if I change the FPS during a shoot??
That's correct!

I believe there is a setting to switch to 50hz somewhere in the camera to counteract that
Is rolling shutter bad on 4k or 6k black magic
