Correction. The lens adapter I use and recommend is actually the 0.71x which you can find here: bhpho.to/2Ft8A7P NOT the 0.64x like I say in the video. Confusion on my end resulted in the mistake. Sorry! I don't want anyone to get the wrong one. Yes the 0.71x is the one I use in most of the shots in this video and it works great but it does vignette slightly with some APSC lenses. Still it works. The 0.64x will ONLY work with full frame lenses.

Strange that you dont mention the much much much cheaper Viltrox ef-m2 instead of the Metabones, since you are always so budget friendly.... It gets very good review everywhere. Oh and if an adapter vignettes with SOME apsc lenses, its likely the lenses fault. I would go for fullframe lenses anyway, since you then always stay in the centre of the image circle, which is always the sweet spot, even on cheaper lenses.

Tom Antos Haha oh man that’s ... well let’s say funny. It’s so much better to have a camera specialist in just video or just photography. I have the 7R2. And it drives me crazy to switch all the settings from foto to video or opposite.

Well done Tom, I have the same problem with the Samsung SSD not being recognized most of the time. Hopefully addressed within the next firmware release, but a royal pain.
I was really planning to buy this camera this year. I think it would be great for films, commercials, and even testimonials, but if you mainly do event shooting like me, I think it's going to suck - poor battery life, unreliable (may shut off for no reason), no flip screen. I don't want to add a bunch of accessories to make it work. Also having the option to shoot to ssd is great, but numerous people say it works sporadically. I may still buy it to try it, but I have a feeling it will get returned.
Great information! Funny to see you actually demonstrate what not to do (plugging in and out with camera on). Good stuff! Hopefully we see more from you.
Tom how about using Atamos Ninja V instead of Freewill? Also for a shallower DoF why not use native MFT like Voigtlander Nokton 17or 25 mm f0.95. These lenses provide amazing results with GH5.
Fantastic video Tom. Really appreciate your tips and suggestions. Thanks so much. What about Matt Box and high capacity drives for longer storage recordings?
Truly helpful, Tom. Haven't received mine yet, but I'm eager and optimistic. Those fixes are welcome information. Hi, I'm Bainson from Ghana. Huge fan of your videos. Please I noticed some smudges on my bmpcc4k camera sensor glass that won't come off no matter the cleaning method used. It looks stuck on the glass. I first noticed it during a shoot last month when I was shooting at a fstop of 5 or higher. There will be some black spots all over the image, but when I shoot at f-stops 4 down to 1.8, it doesn't show. I initially thought it was the lens, but on advise of a friend, we checked out the sensor and realised the issue was actually on the glass in front of the sensor. I don't know what to do about it now. I'm going to email you images of what it looks like. Any recommendations please?
Tom - Q1) I noticed you were using your monitor on your gimbal. Doesn’t the HDMI cable running into your monitor from the BMPCC4k interfere with the gimbals balance? Q2) What are you using to attach your monitor to your gimbal? Thanks.
1- Nope because the cable is very thin and flexible. Also the gimbal is very strong. 2- It's a generic friction arm I got on Amazon. I recently purchased a much better arm from SmallRig that I will show in a future video. The new one is a lot more sturdy.
