    Correction. The lens adapter I use and recommend is actually the 0.71x which you can find here: bhpho.to/2Ft8A7P
    NOT the 0.64x like I say in the video. Confusion on my end resulted in the mistake. Sorry! I don't want anyone to get the wrong one. Yes the 0.71x is the one I use in most of the shots in this video and it works great but it does vignette slightly with some APSC lenses. Still it works. The 0.64x will ONLY work with full frame lenses.

      Strange that you dont mention the much much much cheaper Viltrox ef-m2 instead of the Metabones, since you are always so budget friendly.... It gets very good review everywhere. Oh and if an adapter vignettes with SOME apsc lenses, its likely the lenses fault. I would go for fullframe lenses anyway, since you then always stay in the centre of the image circle, which is always the sweet spot, even on cheaper lenses.

    • @cmdr.shepard
      @cmdr.shepard 5 років тому

      Seriously? And you don't "like" it because it's not for aps-c? Duh.

    Hi Tom,
    Huge thanks for the video! These fixes are an immense help. Just invested in the BMPCC 4K after binging on _hours_ of youtube videos and sorting out 4K v. 6K v. 6K Pro. I'm a dinosaur from the Canon EOS 5D MK2 and MK4 era.. this is my first venture into a dedicated cine camera. Truly looking forward to the learning experience - this pushes me out farther on the learning curve.
    Many thanks.
    Cheers, mate!

    This video was absolutely amazing but it was worth the wait till the end to hear you tell everyone to get a photography camera for photos instead of using this for photos. Finally someone said it. Well made and thank you for your work!

    Tom, you've basically hit the nail on the head; the take out is to adapt. Nothing is ever perfect, so make the most of the strengths and work around the weaknesses. And in this case, the strengths far outweigh the weaknesses.

    This is a weird and self centered comment but I had a strange sensation when the video showed that small town. I immediately knew it was Jim Thorpe, PA. even though I've only been there once and that was about 12 years ago. Nevertheless, I had zero doubt it was that town. I googled Hotel Switzerland (which I don't recall seeing when I was there) and that confirmed it. Memories are strange things.
    That's all; sorry for the diversion. Oh and great video. Thanks.

    I was really planning to buy this camera this year. I think it would be great for films, commercials, and even testimonials, but if you mainly do event shooting like me, I think it's going to suck - poor battery life, unreliable (may shut off for no reason), no flip screen. I don't want to add a bunch of accessories to make it work. Also having the option to shoot to ssd is great, but numerous people say it works sporadically. I may still buy it to try it, but I have a feeling it will get returned.

    Hi, I'm Bainson from Ghana. Huge fan of your videos.
    Please I noticed some smudges on my bmpcc4k camera sensor glass that won't come off no matter the cleaning method used. It looks stuck on the glass. I first noticed it during a shoot last month when I was shooting at a fstop of 5 or higher. There will be some black spots all over the image, but when I shoot at f-stops 4 down to 1.8, it doesn't show. I initially thought it was the lens, but on advise of a friend, we checked out the sensor and realised the issue was actually on the glass in front of the sensor. I don't know what to do about it now. I'm going to email you images of what it looks like. Any recommendations please?

    Tom - Q1) I noticed you were using your monitor on your gimbal. Doesn’t the HDMI cable running into your monitor from the BMPCC4k interfere with the gimbals balance? Q2) What are you using to attach your monitor to your gimbal? Thanks.

    • @TomAntos
      @TomAntos  5 років тому +2

      1- Nope because the cable is very thin and flexible. Also the gimbal is very strong.
      2- It's a generic friction arm I got on Amazon. I recently purchased a much better arm from SmallRig that I will show in a future video. The new one is a lot more sturdy.

    I got the metabones 0.64x with the Sigma EF-S 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens and it seems to have around just as much vignette as in the footage you showed so I'm wondering why you say it the 0.64x only works with full frame lenses.

    Hi, great video man! I wanted to know if the Sigma trio lenses would work on the BMPCC 4K. Thanks!

    Nice video I want this camera I hope by summer. If there was actual video done with one of those canon lenses I missed it. I will look through your other vids to see if there is some.
