    Correction. The lens adapter I use and recommend is actually the 0.71x which you can find here: bhpho.to/2Ft8A7P
    NOT the 0.64x like I say in the video. Confusion on my end resulted in the mistake. Sorry! I don't want anyone to get the wrong one. Yes the 0.71x is the one I use in most of the shots in this video and it works great but it does vignette slightly with some APSC lenses. Still it works. The 0.64x will ONLY work with full frame lenses.

    • @nordfresse
      @nordfresse 5 років тому +3

      Strange that you dont mention the much much much cheaper Viltrox ef-m2 instead of the Metabones, since you are always so budget friendly.... It gets very good review everywhere. Oh and if an adapter vignettes with SOME apsc lenses, its likely the lenses fault. I would go for fullframe lenses anyway, since you then always stay in the centre of the image circle, which is always the sweet spot, even on cheaper lenses.

    • @cmdr.shepard
      @cmdr.shepard 5 років тому

      Seriously? And you don't "like" it because it's not for aps-c? Duh.

    Hi Tom,
    Huge thanks for the video! These fixes are an immense help. Just invested in the BMPCC 4K after binging on _hours_ of youtube videos and sorting out 4K v. 6K v. 6K Pro. I'm a dinosaur from the Canon EOS 5D MK2 and MK4 era.. this is my first venture into a dedicated cine camera. Truly looking forward to the learning experience - this pushes me out farther on the learning curve.
    Many thanks.
    Cheers, mate!

    Great video!!! Definitely subscribed. I'm between the bmpcc and the gh5s for a cinema/wedding setup. Planning on putting it on a glidecam and using a speed booster.
    One question, I understand that there is vignetting with the . 64 metabones adapter when using a lens like the Sigma 18-35 1.8, but would adding cinematic black bars on the top and bottom of the screen in post essentially hide the vignetteing? Or is it safer to go with a . 71?
    Also what is your preference between the black magic and the gh5s?
    Thanks!!

      Welcome brother to the club. Now time for initiation. Go film something awesome with it and then spread the love of the pocket 4K!

    Hi Tom
    Great video but you didn't mention another problem with the BMPCC 4K is that it appears to be made of unobtainium as i cannot find a stockist in the UK that has these in stock they all seem to be on pre-order with no estimate of delivery. :-(

    I was really planning to buy this camera this year. I think it would be great for films, commercials, and even testimonials, but if you mainly do event shooting like me, I think it's going to suck - poor battery life, unreliable (may shut off for no reason), no flip screen. I don't want to add a bunch of accessories to make it work. Also having the option to shoot to ssd is great, but numerous people say it works sporadically. I may still buy it to try it, but I have a feeling it will get returned.

    Great vid! I *love* your setup at 6'30''. Could you break down how the cage is setup, and what you have the monitor on?

    Q: Is the MOZA 2 able to interface with the BMPCC via USB to control start/stop, iris & shutter? I haven't been able to find this discussed elsewhere.
    Thank you so much for a great video and set of recommendations! You help give me confidence that this can be a good run-n-gun set up.
