I play like that too, I see the high level luke stuff and then never copy them. I think its because I want to be original but thats invalid, the game is math and copying optimal stuff makes sense
@@Zachreus well optimal and still being unique is possible. just look at noah, since no one plays like him at this level. the thing is just like, when you are unique, you either have to find out own stuff that is competetive with what everyone else figured out together and that is difficult. or atleast you have to engage with already found stuff in different ways, that is equally effective as what everyone else does. and then, the game is math, but humans aren't to the same extend. a character or a playstyle can be considered the very best and look like it on paper, but in reality that paper is also full of invisible ink and everything written on it, isn't just clear data. the problem is, the more people play the same way as and against a character, the more clear the data appears towards that style of play, but more of the cryptic unclear stuff turns invisible. it's like looking at it through an encoder build by the community, but it only reads stuff that fits the known vision of game. so in truth, the game isn't completely solved and some of the solved stuff applies slightly different to each player, but for sure more consistent at top level play. but yeah... an optimal combo is an optimal combo, unless you drop it. maybe there are 2 or 3 combos that would be working and be arguably as optimal, but that is one aspect where math is just math like 99% of the time and where uniqueness has less room. unless it's a sako combo, lol.
boxbox is a very sense based player, he's really good at doing things that are strong and has a general feel what are strong options but he doesn't know the optimal decisions to be making with Luke and he doesn't have full no lose options. example he's not doing DRC tight block strings meaning he will lose to DP OS, he doesn't recognize that jumping is technically a forfeit option, he's still at a stage where HP H sand blast isn't punished so he hasn't realized against good player it's not even an option he can use, he doesn't really understand the RPS of walking backwards, crouching and walking forward, he doesn't have his own offense that are OSes, he would always walk backwards to try to get out of pressure instead of crouch blocking so he gets clipped by low forward a lot when he's trying to retreat (not recognizing that he is in the opponent's red zone). these small things add up and stack the deck against himself. like Nephew said a lot of his options beat 2-3 options. one example is when boxbox shimmies, he will lose to wakeup low forward because he isn't OSing shimmy into crouching blocking he just walks back and that is susceptible to wake up low forward drive rush (which higher level player when they shimmy almost always crouch block to make sure they don't lose to this option. btw this is the whole brain heart and body type of player, as you can tell I am a brain player while boxbox is a heart player
Honestly feel like he shouldn't be on modern if he's doing the DP inputs manually and whatnot anyways, he barely uses modern to his advantage and is just losing out on damage because of it. I think he should practice doing supers on reaction to drive rushes and some cancels if he wants to continue on modern because otherwise it's pretty pointless to play with the cons and none of the pros.
The amount of people that are self-reporting by complaining about modern is wild. The average modern player will die if you stop reaction checking them (average being plat-diamond. Have had a few in low-mid masters that didn't do too well against me not jumping). Modern isn't an excuse for losing. It's mainly just an execution/speed thing.
bro just has adhd. everytime i find him in ranked he has the same flowchart and its so easy to abuse. He took 1 game off me the first time, but the next 8 its been a clean 2-0 literally just needs to learn to adapt lol
I think it's ok, most modern players are kinda reckless anyways so it's easy to take advantage of that I feel like people complaining about modern are the once with poor defense
@lirionbelmont yeah but they shouldn't be your same rank without having to have any execution skills. Feel like the people defending modern are the skill less people who play modern
ppl still complain about modern in this game? this is the one thing that ppl will never listen to the pros for and will continue to live in their delusion. If you’re losing to modern they’re just better than you, play more solid. The coping mechanism of “anyone who defends modern is probably a modern player” is so toddler-like when every pro player doesn’t even remotely see it as an issue.
@@dxthhy lol tell that to the pros that get beat by Modern pros like tachikawa? You have lost to a bunch of modern players boi, so how did you cope 🤡 regard? You seriously said hey this guy who doesn't have the skillset I do is just simply better huh
The cut at 16:10 from the cr MP to the win screen is so unintentionally funny LMAO
*bonk* WIN!
He asks really good questions
feels like he's never watched matches of high level luke players

Ive always wondered what does it actually mean lmao

To be fair though 237142 is a very good number choice
