    Hamster hold - haven't you ever seen how much a hamster can fit into their mouths. How else do you think pirates stored all that loot!? Giant hamster, son!

    One of my favorite games from GenCon. I really love that everyone had fun with the game and didn't get bogged down with precisely measuring things out. I've found that the game works best in that fashion. A couple of notes though: on the Pillage Time card, or in the case of any card that shows a preset ship arrangement, the Baron should roll the pictured dice in the box first, then arrange them according to the card. Also, unless specifically stated on the card, Non-Player ship actions (like Volley) only target Player Ships, not other NP ships. Love the show and thanks for the video! =)

    Great play guys. I was really on the fence about this game but after your session I think I will have to get it. Thanks for all the video's and keep it up!

    In german, there is a verb called "hamstern" which means to hoard, because a hamster seems to be able to store food in his cheeks.

    You should definately do some more cooperative games imo. Those are really fun watching you debate how to beat the game. i.e. Robinson Crusoe

    The bottom of the board where the dice are dropped could be plastic with ridges defining areas. Each die would then be in an area (exactly the same as the other dice in that area) rather than in an exact spot and then, wouldn't it instantly make the game better, without any fiddly measuring etc.?!

    I'm not sure which I'd rather be a part of: the games or the discussions. lol

    Cool metal coins. Are those base game components, if not where did you get those?

    Is that a vintage Bakelite radio? If it is it's gorgeous.

      Haha. My eye kept going to the pale yellow one. It looks like it's in pristine condition. I noticed it because I have in the past couple years given a cousin of mine vintage radios as Christmas presents. Now as I look I see what looks like a black, and a red one, and an old View-Master. I also like your square red lamp.
      Myself I would love to get my hands on an old working wooden Hi-Fi counsel. I bet you have one. Have fun.

    Why don't you let each player decide themselves what to do? That must make the game much more fun for everyone!

    At the 51:22 mark...Dave shakes the die in his hands...then sets the die to the face he wants.
    What's the point of "shaking the die" then?!?! This makes absolutely no sense! LOL

    What a beautifully over-produced, un-fun trash game. No wonder this is 83% off at Cool Stuff right now.

    Gosh I really want to like this one with the tremendous production values and theme, but the gameplay just seems a bit too fiddly and long for the huge amount of randomness that's in it. Still on the fence.

  • @Rik77
    @Rik77 8 років тому

    hmm... looks just too random for the length. I can see it might be fun but I also feel like you're just throwing whatever into the wind and seeing what happens.

    Fiddly, long, and random....pass!
