My favourite Era's is Daydream in 1996 because her vocals were so explosive and at her peak but then the Glitter Era especially the song "Lead the Way" completely shook me her voice was so agile and beautiful and I love her tone then. Also in Me. I Am Mariah Era especially in 2013 when she did a private show for the fans where she sang "The Art of Lettig Go" (My favourite song from the album) and improvised a little. Her melisma and tone were great! I just love Mariah over all 😂💖 But her song "Looking in" on the Daydream album makes me cry all the time... 💜

I don't think they meant that she can't sing, because obviously in her prime days 1990-1996 her voice was as smooth as silk, pitch perfect, and effortless. I think they mean as in today. Her voice has drastically changed with age, damage and so fourth. No one could touch Mariah's vocal capabilities back then. Although I do love her voice in 1997. I wish she would've sang Outside live. It would've been amazing! ❤️

Can you do something like a musical room tour , in which you will be taking us around your room while explaining everything in a singing kind of a tone I don't know how to explain this but if this makes any sense then please do try it....

+Potato Tater I actually do have a tip that recently worked for me. But it's gonna sound a bit silly and since I'm not professional, my credibility is really a mystery.
Anyways,
I've had the same problem. My voice wasn't agile for weeks. And I will be completely honest to you. It was because instead of singing, I chose to binge watch Netflix all day and be lazy. I'd go days without singing. My voice would sound embarrassing because of how stiff it is when singing runs.
So here's my solution...
And like I said it sounds silly
But anyways.
I started listening to Tori Kelly and Mariah at the same time. Mariah for her belts, and Tori for her runs. I just kept on singing along to them. Meticulously tried to follow their rapid changes of notes. And I'd do some Riff and Runs warm ups. It's in the Riff and Runs video I have. Anyways, if you do it every day for a week you'll see a change in your voice. My voice today is surprisingly more agile than it was in my Netflix Lazy days.
Also, Throat Coat Tea helped soothe my voice after it's hard work.
But the trick here is, muscle memory will take play. Your vocals will remember the feeling of being able to sing fluidly in Runs.

AmaZane Channel I did that too... My voice wasn't agile, so I knew Tori's riffs/runs were so good and I started to sing along with her... And I sing along with Mariah for everything, her lows, belts, whistles, runs, vocal break.

My fave mariah album gotta be butterfly cuz that was in 1997 when I watched her butterfly video and became a fan of hers for life. This album got me thru some tough times in my personal life. I was I believe 14years old. My first love cheated on me and the song butterfly was played after the break up and it helped me thru it. Mariahs music helped me personally and emotionally. This album is still dear to my heart.

It's hard for me to decide which era is my favorite. My favorite album is actually her debut album. On the other hand her vocals on Daydream Tour were absolutely fantastic. I also really enjoyed Charmbracelet era (why is it so underrated :/). Gosh it's too hard to choose the one and only :D

I really love that in this generation still there are a lot of people and teenager that adore Mariah and listen to her. Me myself is still 16 and also a true fan of Mariah, and for me as singer (beginner) I set Mariah as the diamond standard of true singing, even if many people say that she can't sing anymore, but they should watch her prime, which I can say that her prime also very long-lasting. Singer nowadays should also take Mariah as the gold singing standard. But I really like the Debut/Emotions era which is really powerful & skillful, and then also Daydream & Charmbracelet era which is so buttery, and so airy, while not losing power. Btw, I really like this channel, I think you really give a great reaction of MC's vocal and also your other video about whistle notes really helps me in doing whistle notes, like I think that your explanation is quite clear and understanable. I would like to ask for help in terms of my whistles.
I don't understand why but most of the time, my whistles are like soft, chill and airy but when I get exited it's clearer and brighter and when I feel good and in the mood, I could control my whistles very very very well. My problem is that I can't keep the quality of my whistles consistent like yours, I would love it if you can give me some advice. Love ur videos
+Zhen Bee I think it's good that it isn't consistent all the time. Because you have the flexibility to make it strong in tone or soft with more air. It all depends on the kind of song. If it's a power house song then push more from your diaphragm and let little air escape when singing whistles. When singing soft buttery sweet scrumptious goodness lovey dovey delicious songs, then let more air escape and breathe out the whistle so it accents the song. Then BAM. You good. 😜

The ending whistle was 53 notes in 6 seconds. Now I can imitate her someday whistle but to do those many notes is not just impossible for me but for anyone. No ones done something like that up there in there whistle.
